A spacious lounge with log/coal fire and views across the glen leads into the hallway to access the very large, recently installed kitchen and dining room. There is a shower room with WC and wash-hand basin and a separate bathroom with shower, wash-hand basin & WC. We also have three bedrooms, a king, a double and a twin room. Off the kitchen is the utility room with laundry and drying equipment. Outside, the garden separates the property from the forest and shields the house from the road.

We both grew up in Scotland, Ros in Aberdeen while I started off in Dundee then spending my teens in the eastern Highlands. After I'd moved to Aberdeen, Mum's career took her to this more southerly area of the Highlands. While she worked here and after she retired, we visited frequently, as much to enjoy the peace and quiet as to have a family catch-up,

So, when Mum decided that she needed something smaller, we settled on holiday lets as the ideal way to keep our connection with the village and share it with other visitors who have enjoyed the area as much as us. While we've visited many far-flung corners of the globe, there's nothing like the grandeur of the Scottish Highlands or the welcoming hospitality to be found here. Yes it rains, a lot, but the ever-changing moods of the glens and mountain-sides, not to mention good waterproofs, make it so worthwhile.
What makes this Bungalow unique
For 28 years now, we've watched the birds and squirrels feed on the rowan tree by the front window, hiked up to Loch Lundie behind the house through all all kinds of weather and enjoyed a warm welcome in the village and hotel. Hidden from the road and perched up high, the house is a tranquil oasis with views across he glen. You can spend the day sight-seeing, bagging Munro's or ambling around the glen. Whichever takes your fancy, you can look back on it as you sit in front of a roaring fire or in the group-friendly kitchen-dining room.

Amazing time for all the family in a well equipped bungalow
Perfect location to go to other places, nice warm rooms and kitchen well equipped for preparing Christmas lunch. The sitting room had a fire place to keep us warm while playing games and puzzles from this room. It's child and pet friendly bungalow .;)There's a lovely forest surrounding the place for nice afternoon's walk. Quite peaceful area..I'll definitely recommend the place to family and friends.
Lovely, comfortable stay in a fabulous, fully equipped property
The property was even better than we hoped it would be. Very clean and nicely decorated with a fully equipped kitchen. It felt very comfortable as soon as we arrived. The house was always warm in the sub-zero temperatures we experienced in November and December! The owners really have thought of everything you could need, it truly is, as the advert says, a home from home. The owners replied to all communication very quickly and were always keen to ensure that we were happy with our stay. I can thoroughly recommend this property.
A warm home with all the things you need.
We had two young kids who loved the warm fire, toys, games, outdoor play gear and nearby play park. For the adults the kitchen has loads of utensils, pots, pans, baking stuff and big fridge/freezer capacity. The washing machine and dryer excellent for wet children's clothes after all the rain. Great selection of books, dvds,and local info in the bungalow. Payment was quick and contact from owners great.
The Beeches is cozy, comfortable, and well equipped!
We really enjoyed our stay at the Beeches. The house is well equipped with pots and pans to make a meal at home. We also enjoyed a game of Yahtzee and watched a dvd highlighting the history of Invergerry. It was a special treat to have homemade scones when we arrived, thank you Linda! The house is in a great location. We enjoyed outings to Urquhart castle and the Battle of Culloden visitor center. The owners provided excellent instructions for everything we needed (directions to the house as well as a very helpful house manual) and the local contact person for Mike and Ros, Linda, stopped by to welcome us, which was so thoughtful! The pub and restaurant at the Invergarry (a short walk from the house) serves excellent food and a variety of highland single malts. If my travels give me a reason to return to Invergerry (and I hope they do!), I would happily stay at the Beeches again.
Invergarry is where the roads to the Western Isles, the Highlands and Lochaber's adventure centres meet. It's a quiet, friendly spot that was once the seat of the MacDonnell clan, the partially ruined Invergarry castle are an impressive sight, and the village formed part of a great estate. The nearby Glengarry Castle Hotel was once the centre of society sitting at the end of its own railway line to Fort Augustus. The Heritage Centre at the Glengarry Community Hall directly across the road from The Beeches has a wealth of information on the local history.
The village prospered as the Great Glen saw the development of the Caledonian Canal and the locks that make up the waterway are a fascinating attraction as boats of all kinds make their way up and down at Fort Augustus and Neptune's Staircase at Banavie near Fort William.
Their is a wide range of tracks and trails around the village, some that make for a pleasant amble, to others that offer a real challenge to the seasoned hill-walker. Of the 284 Munros in Scotland, more than 50 are within an hour's drive of Invergarry.
Taking in such breathtaking scenery, whether on foot or by car is great for the appetite. It is no wonder then, that the Great Glen boasts a mouth-watering array of eateries and producers of fine food. Invergarry has its two hotel restaurants, Fort Augustus has half a dozen hotels, pubs and cafes great for dining out and there are many shops with a range of fine local produce.
Only an hour's drive north-east is the city of Inverness, with its castle, ancient streets and busy shopping centres. Twenty-five miles to the south-west lies Fort William and beyond, the majesty of Glencoe. Drive west out of the village and marvel at the rugged beauty of the mountains as you pass Eilean Donan Castle on the road to Skye.
Almost any road or track will take bring you to a loch or a river, many offering the opportunity to go freshwater fishing (most hoever, do require a permit). Equally, wildlife abounds in the area, and you won't go far without coming across some of the bird-life, deer and red squirrels who live nearby.
So whether you need a base for exploring and adventure or a tranquil spot to recharge your batteries, Invergarry has just what you need.
Payment of a non-refundable deposit equal to one third of the total rental rate is required to secure a Reservation. Cancellations or changes that result in a shortened stay that are made within 28 days of the arrival date will forfeit the full advance payment and reservation deposit. The entire rental fee must be paid 28 days prior to check-in otherwise the Reservation will be deemed to have been cancelled.
