The neighbourhood:

West Kensington is a quiet residential area, with easy access to all Central London entertainment and restaurants. Holland Park, Kensington Hight street, Westfield Shopping Centre and Olympia exhibition centre are all within a 5'-10' walk.

Getting around:

Shepherd's Bush (central line) station and Westfield are a 7' walk, Kensington Olympia (district and overground) and Olympia exhibition centre on Hammersmith Road are a 5' walk. Holland Park and High street Kensington are a 5' bus ride away. Bus stop for no 49 and C1 are a 2' walk.

Hammersmith Station is a 10' walk.

To get to the flat from Heathrow take the piccadilly line to Hammersmith and either walk for 10' or take a £6 cab to being you to the property if you have luggage.

The flat is located within the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea. There are parking spaces with meters on the street as well as an NCP car park about 10 minutes walk.

Owner doesn't care about your experience at their property

My husband myself and two daughters rented this flat to spend the Holiday in London and to meet another family member from Mexico ( He rented a hotel room about 6 blocks away)The night before Christmas Eve we encountered several people in our court yard and in our foyer which turned into a HUGE party of 60 or more,people it was a very loud and scary experience, someone tried kicking our door in from the party upstairs,people were throwing whippets at the windows and broke the windows upstairs.We called the owner of the flat and the police. The next day while we were gone the locks were changed and we were locked out and the person from the upstairs apartment made it very difficult for us to negotiate back into the flat that we rented. This Owner that we rented from told us that we didn't have to even ask but she would compensate us for all of the trouble we went through. When we contacted her after our stay she told us that we broke the rules by having 5 people stay because her housekeeper told her there was someone sleeping on the couch ( that was my husband because he felt he should sleep close to the front door after this incident ) then the housekeeper told her we took towels ( like we want to take towels back to the US in our carry on luggage) then she told us she never got our email, then she told us there was a death in the family and she would get back to us. We have never heard from her since. And she has mice in the flat.

At Home in London!

We loved the location - convenient to Westfield Mall for shopping & dining & 10 minutes or less to Shepherds Bush tube stop, then off to exploring London! We enjoyed nearly 2 weeks in this home and could have stayed longer. We are a family of 3 and were very comfortable. The apartment was clean and well decorated. It had just about everything we needed. Internet access & washer/dryer were very helpful. It's in a quiet neighborhood too, which we really liked. We felt like locals. Gorgeous Apartment in a Favulous location ☺️

I stayed here from Friday to Sunday with my 3 friends and we had such a fun weekend! The apartment was perfect- lovely interior and very warm and homely, the area also felt really safe. We were able to travel round really easily, a bus ride from Chelsea and a bus or tube ride from Oxford Street and Hyde Park! A taxi from London St Pancras wasn't too expensive either😊 Thanks so much!

Paid for the apartment but could not stay there!

We arrived at the apartment and found several dead wasps littering the living room floor plus a distinct almost mothball like smell throughout the apartment. The owner was responsive and did immediately send someone over to take care of the issues but we had already decided we could not stay given those conditions and secured accommodations elsewhere. Very expensive lesson for us and unfortunate because this apartment is well located and fairly well appointed.

Owner's Response: We discovered a wasp nest inside the chimney, we sent someone to clean it all within an hour. I am sorry you could not stay in the apartment, we also checked for the smell and we could not detect any such smell, we also asked the previous guest that departed that morning if there was such a smell and they did not feel there was an odour that was bothering them. In any case, we responded immediately and resolved the issue, it is a shame you did not stay to enjoy the apartment which was prepared for you.

The property is great! Superb location!

I made the reservation and half paid the money well ahead of time after which I was supposed to receive instructions as to how to get in once arrived. I received no instructions and assumed that someone is there to welcome us. We arrived, with my 75 year old mother and there was no way to get into the property. It was cold and rainy. I managed to go the the owner who lives in the condo underneath to find out...something. He could not help me but he unlocked the front door for us such that at least we would stay dry in the indoor porche. Being canadian and american, I do not have a cell phone plan in the UK. And my emails worked only partly. I tried to send an email to the owner but did not get her answer on my american cell phone. After 3 hours, my 75 year old mother had to empty her bladder and but taking a walk outside I met Bruce, a charming next door neighbour who was smoking outside. I explained to him my issue. He contacted the owner, let us go to the bathroom and gave me a richly deserved glass of white wine. He contacted the owner and found out the way for us to get in. I WILL NEVER FAIL TO ASK OWNERS HOW TO GET INTO THEIR CONDOS AGAIN! I never saw the owner. Never got a phone call. I got no apology from the owner what so ever for what we had to go through after having paid the second half of the amount, therefore the full fee. Life went on as though nothing had happened.

Once we got into the condo, it was great! It is a fantastic place for a short stay in London. I agree with all the other comments. But make sure you get all the info first!

Owner's Response: Michelle thank you for your review. I am very very sorry entering the apartment was so confusing. I feel terrible that you felt ignored by me, not responding to your e-mails. Assuming that you had go the info about how to get in from the Homeaway welcome package I did not think this will happen. Also, I live in Vancouver and your messages came in the middle of the night but also I was in communication with Bruce, I told him where the key was and he reassured me you got in. I had also notified our maintenance man who was on his way when I Bruce told me it was all ok. So, I am not sure why you were not getting any e-mails on your phone but rest assured I was working with those around you to make sure you are ok. My apologies once again, I should have written to acknowledge your difficulties and explain that I was on the ball as best as I could. I hope this did not deter you from enjoying your stay. You are welcome to return any time.
