A wonderful apartment in a good location for exploring Vieux Lyon. Christine was very helpful and offered many suggestions for things to visit and places to eat. I wish we could have spent a week there! Well appointed apartment with a wonderful view toward the Saone.
A great place to stay in historic Lyon
La Colline was a marvellous place to stay to explore Lyon. It is located on one of the oldest streets in old Lyon, with great views down to the Saône over L’eglise Saint Georges. Christine provided great suggestions of things to see and do in Lyon. The public transport is easy to negotiate and can get you to the top of most hills and then you can walk down the many steps to follow the way through traboules and past painted walls and ancient buildings. The Gallo Roman museum was a wonderful place to visit - the architecture and the contents. The apartment is very comfortable, quiet and well equipped. A great place to stay but you do need to be able to climb some stairs!
Marvellous setting on the hill with helpful host
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this apartment. It is very comfortable, well appointed and quiet. The views are amazing and it is only a short walk to the city centre. Christine was the most helpful and welcoming host we have ever met. She was always available and readily sorted out any problems. We took advantage of the Lyon City Card, which we would recommend.
A Breathtaking View in the Most Picturesque Part of the City!
The garden apartment was just perfect, even better than described. Christine was such a gracious hostess, and made us feel right at home. She gave us lots of useful insider information that made our stay in Lyon even more enjoyable. The house is on an ancient cobblestone road and close to the Roman ruins and part of the medieval area of Lyon. The apartment had beautiful views of the river and rooftops of Old Lyon. The little garden where we relaxed in the evening also overlooked the church spires of the city. If you take a cab, make sure to ask the driver to drop you off at the top of the street or drive you right to the house from below. We will definitely stay here again.
Wonderful hosts, clean and picturesque apartment. Fantastic views of Lyon.
An overall positive experience. Highly recommend!
Rooms with Major Views!
My stay was made perfect by being located about midway up the "Hill that prays" versus the "Hill that works", or even down by the rivers. Vieux Lyon is the place to be with so many shops, bars, cafes, traboules, and more! Christine was so helpful in making my short stay the very best. She even drove me down to the place my ship was docked at when it was time to depart. You will find Jardin Colline a welcome flat to stay in with everything you need for a stay of any length. I especially enjoyed eating al fresco in the petite garden with the view over the city. The bath was spacious and the tub deep and relaxing after my one 10 mile day up and down the hills of Lyon. The other days were less strenuous....
You will live like a local in Lyon when you stay with Christine, and I should know as we share the same love of hosting guests in our respective towns (I am a VRBO hostess in Grand Haven, MI)
The apartment is in the most tourist district of the city. Everything is within walking distance. You will be in the heart of Old Lyon, just a little above the busy streets and enjoy the calm and the view. Our house is on a hillside so you have to go up or down in our paved lane. It is possible to descend only if you take the funicular to return otherwise it takes a hundred meters of climbing. Roman theaters and Roman ruins are nearby. The medieval quarter is there. FourviereBasilica, gardens and incredible views of the city are within 300 meters. Guignol theater down the street. Many museums are within walking distance: Fine Arts, archaeological, Gadagne Museum (history of Lyon), fabrics museum, printing, miniatures, robots etc. You can take a vaporetto (boat) to go to the new Confluence district. Countless restaurants are nearby. Addresses are proposed in the folder in the apartment. Place Bellecour which is the heart of Lyon is a 5 minute walk. for children there are gardens everywhere, tree climbing on the hill, the pool on the Rhone, Guignol down ... It is possible to park on the street but it must first borrow the access to the district board. So you have to park in a nearby street (rue des Farges, Place des Minimes) or the St. George parking on the quay Fulchiron.
