Cottage and the owner Joe were great. The local pub has trad music, friendly staff and great pub food only a very short drive down the road. The fish and tackle shop is great. Rent a pole and go out and fish for Mackerel and Pollock. Having a full Kitchen is fantastic when on holiday and can't beat being able to fry up fresh fish. The upstairs living room is the best part of the house with views of the ocean and beautiful coastline. We were able to easily get to Doolin for Ferry to Aran Islands, hike of the cliffs of Moher, hike Croagh Patrick, and tour Connemara all from this location with ease. Don't miss out on this place!
My daughters and I really enjoyed our stay @ Craggy Cottage. Lots of room and a beautiful view every morning. Joe was very attentive to make sure our stay was enjoyable. Would recommend Craggy Cottage for exploring the west coast for sure.
Incredibly beautiful....this gives our vacation apt description .
The house is very comfortable and clean. It's like "coming home". The kitchen is completely equipped. Even the most mundane things for cooking are available.
The house is next to Fanore Beach. Where we went everyevening after an impressive day (at the cliffs of moher, at Tullamore Dew, at Doolin......) to let the day fade away. The house gives you a good starting point for your excursions.
Having a car is recommended.
Thank you, Joe and Rena, for allowing us to be in this wonderful place.
We are sure to come back again!
We were met by the owner, Joe Casey, who kindly explained the use of all aspects of the cottage. He also supplied us with some unexpected food and supplies. The cottage is positioned with an unobstructed view of the "Wild Atlantic" Ocean.
The cottage was clean and well supplied leaving nothing to chance. We look forward to returning to this very location and will recommend it to anyone interested in a great and relaxing stay on the west coast of Ireland.
The house is very well equipted and spacious for up to 7 guests. We spent a relaxing week with the family in the cottage after a round trip through Irland, and enjoyed the modern kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine and tumbler as well as games , books, TV, DVDs for rainy days. Close-by are Fanore beach with its great waves and surfing and angling opportunities, and the impressive nature reserve of the Burren, which is ideally suited for hiking. We recomment the cottage for families and/or nature lovers.
Craggy Cottage is located beside the beach and the Burren walks can all be accessed directly from the cottage as the trail passes the house location including Caher Valley Loop Walk , Fanore to Ballyvaughan Trek , Burren Way, and the Black Head Looped Walk and it is on the Wild Atlantic way route, the world’s newest costal touring route allowing you to explore the Burren region (one of Irelands natural wonders) at your leisure.
Local attractions include The Cliffs of Moher, Ailwee and Doolin cave systems and the Aran Islands which can be reached by ferry from Doolin.
