Harbour House looks out across the Atlantic ocean and the harbour at Paul do Mar where fishing vessels land their catches daily, retaining the charm of a traditional Madeiran fishing village.
A small holiday house with breathtaking views of the sea, on all three floors, as well as the fabulous statue on the harbour at Paul do Mar- this house is located literally a stone's throw from the beach. Why not leave all the stress behind and enjoy Madeira at its best in a charming and friendly traditional fishing village
The recently upgraded accommodation includes kitchen with cooker and hob. An outside terrace with table and chairs for eating out on those lovely sunny evenings. Alternatively you can also eat on the first floor in the comfortable lounge / diner. As well as a dining table this room also has a sofa that could be converted to a small double bed, High Speed Internet and 40 inch TV. The view from the lounge gives the illusion that the sea is your own personal infinity pool. A shower room and washing machine is off the landing. The top floor has a king size bed with an ensuite shower room with patio doors leading to a balcony with 2 sunbeds and parasol -the perfect place to relax with a cold glass of wine/beer after a hot day on the beach and watch the world go by. Wi-Fi is available on all floors.
Ideally located for walking, fishing, snorkelling, wind surfing, swimming or just relaxing on the beach. One of the best and challenging walks on the island starts and finishes within metres of the house - the walk from Paul do Mar to Prazeres 1.8km - listed in walking guide books - so you can abandon the car, enjoy the views of both cliffs and sea on the way up and at the top enjoy lunch at the hotel before walking back down.
There are few local bars and restaurants, a coffee shop, mini market and bank within walking distance.

we visited the village while on holiday and fell in love with the charm and local feel.
we were blown away by the location and the special views and it was just the holiday home we were searching for
We stayed a week at the property, which is in a lovely part of the village, so very close to the sea. The house is as described by the owners and everything you need is provided. We thoroughly enjoyed the house and the location, and it will appeal to those who enjoy walking and staying away from the crowds. The house is only 45mins drive from the airport but you feel far away from the bustle. Fatima who helps manage the property was particularly helpful and informative about the house and the local area. We would very much consider staying there again.
Very good accommodation good localisation thank you so much! Cheers!
This is the 3rd time we have stayed in this property and we will definitely be staying again. It is in a beautiful location, a stones throw from the lovely natural pool and harbour of Paul do Mar. The house itself is spotlessley clean and have all the amenities you will need for your stay including a washing machine which I personally find a great benefit as the clothes will dry so quickly in the beautiful weather and reduces the amount of clothing you have to take and how much you have to wash when you get home!
The house keeps the original style of a "Paul" home, on 3 stories, with beautiful views over the ocean. The house is well equipped with everything you will need to enjoy your stay. The village of Paul do Mar is like stepping back in time, of course you have your mobile phones and internet but the old traditions of meeting for a coffee in the mornings, and a Madeira wine after lunch sitting outside one of the lovely small bars are ongoing, you can spend your time just watching the old men playing cards or dominoes which is very entertaining as they get very excited and noisy. There are some lovely walks to be had, surfing and shore fishing all local, big game fishing can be done from Calheta Marina about 15 mins away. The owners of this property are so helpful and care about your stay.
We are returning again shortly (2016) for our 3rd Stay at this house, our 6th Year in Paul do Mar! This house has everything you need for good clean comfortable accommodation. Not suitable for elderly infirm or young children because of the stairs. Once your used to them, takes a day or so, there is no problem at all. The view is superb of the harbour area and its lovely to sit outside in the evenings. We love the people in Paul we have made friends for life and have been welcomed into their homes. If you go buy supplies from the little shop in the alley way and off the bread cake and fruit vans that call most days. The nearest supermarket is a short drive away in calheta but you can get most things in the local shop.
Immerse yourself in the locals ways and you will have a lovely stay in an unspoilt quiet village.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The accomodation is to a high standard and conveniently located with fantastic sea views. There are places to eat in easy walking distance with a small shop and bank for the basics. Locals are friendly and the only noise at night is the sound of the sea breaking on the rocks.
