About this property

Relax or recreate on beautiful Heart Lake in northern Michigan near Gaylord. Cozy log cabin with 3 bedrooms and 1 1/2 baths. The lake is very clean and surrounded by mature trees for a beautiful setting. We have resident loons and eagles during the summer. All-sports access: fishing, boating, skiing, jet-skis, paddle boards and kayaks are all welcome. Lake has a no-wake rule from 7:30 pm until 11:30 am, allowing for tranquil mornings and evenings, and still plenty of time for all the fun during the day.

During the winter, the cabin is just 100 yards from one of the main snowmobile trails that connects with hundreds of miles of other trails. Nearby Treetops has downhill skiing. With some of the best snowfall in Michigan, Gaylord is in the heart of all of the winter activities, including cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and sledding.

Two bedrooms semi-private with open ceilings to beautiful cathedral log ceilings. Third bedroom tucked away from living area. Living area open concept with views to the lake. Sunroom makes a perfect spot to relax with a book while looking out on the lake.

Second visit; excited for the next

We visited this cottage three years ago and were excited to experience it again. The lake is beautiful and quiet, and the paddle boards are an added perk. It is close to Lake Michigan and Huron, with lots of long hikes in between. The cottage is lovely inside (and outside!) and mixes the history of traditional log construction with contemporary amenities. We always have everything we need. Both the host and neighbors are friendly. I will stay again.
