Perfect location but needs some improvement
My family and i stayed at the moretown home over mlk weekend. When we arrived around 3:20pm, we discoved that there was no heat on in the home and it was very cold inside. We searched around a bit to see if we could rectify the situation ourselves. With no luck, we called the vacasa number provided. I spoke to the customer service rep who basically just took my message. He said someone would be in contact with me shortly. After about a half an hour or so with no call back, i called again. Same thing where the rep just took my message. We were basically stuck waiting (in the cold) for someone to call back. We couldn't leave the property. Finally, about 5:15pm, we got a call back from who i can guess was the property manager. He instructed us to go in the basement. We didn't think we would have access to the basement since the door to it had a coded lock. But we tried the doorknob and, luckily, it opened. After being on the phone with him for about 10 mins or so, he helped us figure out what the problem was and we were able to turn the heat on. Apparently someone had turned off the main switch to the furnace system which was high above the staircase to the basement (not near the actual furnace at all). We were not very happy that this delayed the start of our vacation. I also noticed that there was a pack of cigarettes left on one of book shelves. I felt this was incredibly inappropriate since we had our children with us. Also, i thought this was a smoke free rental... In addit

Great house but needs to be clean and ready for arrival
I booked this place for 4 nights for a family of 6 plus two dogs. We arrived later in the evening and the house was not at all easy to find. My suggestion would be to put up reflective numbers on the mailbox as a start. The driveway and the walkway to the front door were covered in ice. As this is a safety hazard, especially at night, I’d imagine this should’ve been taken care of prior to our arrival. When we entered the home, both smoke detectors were going off. The one on the main floor and one on the second floor. Luckily the one on the main floor was at a reachable height. The other was not. This was when our family had the pleasure of meeting the homeowner. I’d like to preface that there are two entities involved. The homeowner, who lives next door, and Vacasa who is the property management agency. The issues we have has nothing to do with the homeowner, but instead with Vacasa. The homeowner provided us with a ladder to shut off the smoke detector. After finally shutting down the smoke detectors, my family did an initial sweep of the house and there were a few major issues that left us pretty disappointed. One of the more major issues was that we found mouse droppings all over the kitchen as well as the utensil drawers. In addition, there were copious insects found in the bedrooms and bathroom throughout our stay, and cobwebs all over the ceilings. There was hair in the bathroom drain and no shades. Otherwise the house was very comfortable and provided a lot of ammenit
