Why Ross Harris chose Gordon Head

We grew up in the University of Victoria neighbourhood. I returned here and bought this house when my mum was older, in her own home, and needed us close by. The street I live on was a farm until the 1970s. My house was the replacement farmhouse, after the original farmhouse burnt down in 1957. There are large holly trees on the property - being part of the original farm. This house was built in 1958, when they were building very solid houses. I've upgraded the kitchen and replaced all the windows. It is so quiet here, and it never gets too hot outside because of a light breeze off the water. I like to watch the ocean going ships go by, as I used to sail them all over the world. There is a terrific fenced dog park at UVIC (about 10 acres). There is a park 4 minutes walk from the house, where children can play and dogs can exercise.

With more than 1,100 busses arriving and leaving each day, you can connect from campus to anywhere in the Capital Region District. Over 17,000 people use transit to get to campus each day. There are 12 bus routes that depart from the University or from nearby my house. You can avoid the hassle and cost of parking by using the bus. A day pass is $5.00 and a monthly pass is $85.00 or $45.00 for seniors You can purchase daily or monthly recreation passes for all the facilities at the nearbye Gordon Head Rec Centre and at UVIC. This includes use of UVIC's climbing wall.
