Our large apartment is situated in a small, recently refurbished, development in the peaceful village of furth, within walking distance of kaprun and with easy access to zell am see. The apartment has stunning panoramic views over the beautiful kitzsteinhorn and maiskogel ski areas and, with a south facing balcony, benefits from a sunny outlook for most of the day. The apartment provides accommodation in 4 large double bedrooms, each with its own separate bathroom and integral wardrobe space. It has the benefit of two private parking spaces and the shared use of a heated 15-metre swimming pool, a reception area and a ski-boot and locker room for skiers. The apartment facilities include a washer/dryer, TVs, DVD and wi-fi.

The property has private garaging for two cars. On the ground floor, there is a lockable bike store plus a new large ski-boot room with heated racks.
Open plan and spacious lounge and dining area (seating for 8 people), with access to a large, south facing balcony area, with additional seating. The lounge has a flatscreen TV and DVD plus free wi-fi. There is a double sofa-bed in the lounge
The apartment has an on-site housekeeper, who visits the property daily and can provide helpful information. There is also free wi-fi and the communal lounge/games room is a peaceful area for adults and children.

The apartment is situated on the 2nd floor and is accessible via two flights of stairs. There is no lift to the apartment and may, therefore, be less satisfactory to people with mobility issues. The apartment itself is on a single level.
The external features of the property include a 15-metre heated swimming pool (open May-September), set in a grassed area with sun loungers and chairs, which is surrounded by attractive gardens. The apartment has an outside, south-facing balcony, with a table and seating and which is accessible from the lounge and bedroom 1. The views over the Hohe Tauern National Park and Kitzsteinhorn mountain from the gardens and the balcony are stunning.
Sue and Alan own the property and purchased it after it had been refurbished in 2011. We live in Hampshire and have two grown up sons. We are enthusiastic holiday makers and for many years have considered purchasing a property abroad. The idea of a year round holiday destination, which Austria provides, appealed to us greatly.

Having visited the Alps on many occasions and having spent a memorable holiday in Zell am See a few years ago, we already knew that we had a deep affinity with the region. When we decided to seek out a holiday home, we naturally gravitated towards the beauty of the Austrian Alps and in particular, the area around Kaprun/Zell am See. The factors which ultimately swayed us in favour of the apartment, included the natural beauty of the surrounding area, its peacefulness and the capacity to ski in the Winter and walk in the Summer. The apartment itself has been developed to a high standard and provides good, ample accommodation and the stunning views that are evident from the balcony were a significant selling point.
It goes without saying that the property is set within an area of outstanding natural beauty. There can be few better views than the one from our apartment and the fact that it is south-facing means that on sunny days, it is a lovely place to sit and watch the world go by. In spite of being located in a lovely peaceful position, the apartment is in close proximity to both Kaprun and Zell am See with their restaurants, bars and cafes. A particular added benefit for us was the access to the shared outdoor, heated swimming pool, which we did not see in any of the other properties we visited. The presence of a housekeeper, who visits daily, has also provided invaluable assistance during the past year. Finally, there is easy road and rail access of the property from Salzburg, Innsbru.
After a long trip through Europe we arrived at Furth, outside Zell Am See, Austria. Wa arrived at a really nice apartment, with nice large rooms and a great living area. The kitchen was well equipped and had all the utensils needed to be able to make food for(in our case) 9 people. We also enjoyed many mornings and evenings at the small pool that is shared between several apartments in the area.
The apartment is situated in a quiet neighbourhood with great views towards the city of Kaprun, and the mountain Kitzsteinhorn. The local area have shopping-possibilities and more than enough of local activities aimed at an active family holiday.
We would most definate recommend a stay in the area and in the apartment.

Sehr schöne Wohnung für 8 Personen. Wir haben uns sofort wohl gefühlt und haben es genossen, vier Badezimmer zu haben! Auch die Ausstattung ließ nicht zu wünschen übrig! Super!
Golf zell am see is set in the midst of this lovely alpine region, and within a few minutes of the property. It has two 18-hole championship courses, the Schmittenhohe at 6,218 metres and par 72 and the Kitzsteinhorn at 6,146 metres and par 73.
Kaprun and Zell am See form part of the Europa Ski region, a major ski area in the Austrian Alps, with runs suitable for all levels. It includes the Kitzsteinhorn area (above Kaprun and with year-round glacier skiing up to 3,000 metres), the Schmittenhohe area (above Zell am See up to 2,000 metres) and the Maiskogel area (in central Kaprun up to 1,600 metres). The apartment enjoys easy access to each of these ski areas within a few minutes. There is a regular ski-bus service (price included in the ski-pass), which can be picked-up within 100 metres of the apartment. The ski area of Saalbach/Hinterglemm is within a 30 mins drive and Kitzbuhel within a 40 min drive. The area also boasts 230 km of cross country tracks.

In the Summer months, the area's outstanding natural beauty and alpine setting make it a paradise for cyclists, walkers, trekkers and climbers. The lakeside setting of nearby Zell am See make it ideal for holiday-makers looking for water-based activities.
How to get there
British Airways, Lufthansa, Easyjet, Ryanair and Flybe fly to Salzburg, Innsbruck and Munich. Some flights are only at certain times of the year.
Transfers from Salzburg - 90 mins by train or by car;
Transfers from Innsbruck - 120 mins by train or car;
Transfers from Munich - 150 mins by car.
All of the airports have good hire car facilities and routes from the airports are both well sign-posted and very scenic.

The apartment is set in the Salzach valley in a beautiful and peaceful area and has beautiful alpine views in all directions. It is situated in close proximity to Kaprun and Zell am See. The region is suitable as a year-round holiday destination, providing access to excellent ski areas in the Winter, on nearby slopes (plus year-round glacier skiing) and a multitude of outdoor activities in the Summer, including trekking, walking, climbing, cycling, para-gliding, golf and swimming. For the less energetic, there are lovely walks everywhere and the nearby Tauern Spa provides its visitors an opportunity to use the many swimming pools, saunas and restaurants.
There are many restaurant choices, both in Kaprun and Zell am See, with Hilbergers, Tafern, Jagawirt and Auhof (Kaprun) and Steinerwirt and Deins and Meins (Zell am See) being particular favourites of the owners. In addition, there are many nice cafes and cake shops, suitable for afternoon coffee and apfelstrudel.
For day trips, the property is in proximity to Kitzbuhel (pretty alpine town, with good shopping and cable cars up to the Hahnenkamm and Kitzbuheler Horn and with a super drive across the Pass Thurn), the Krimml Waterfalls, the Sigmund Thun Gorge and the Grossglockner. Both Salzburg and Innsbruck can also be accessed either by road or by train from Zell am See.
On occasional wet days, guests are recommended to try out the Tauern Spa, situated within a short drive of the apartment.

A security deposit of €300 is also required prior to arrival, which is refundable pending final inspection on departure. There is an Austrian tourist tax of €1.20 per person, per day, over 15-years of age.
