Applegarth is a four bedroomed detached cottage, on the main route from Stirling to Loch Lomond. It is conveniently placed 10 minutes from Stirling Castle and town centre and 8 minutes from a motorway junction which takes you to Edinburgh, Glasgow or north towards Perth, St Andrews and Inverness.

Situated about 20 minutes from Glenaeagles, 7 minutes from Stirling Golf Club.

There are stunning views from the house towards to the Gargunnock Hills and the Trossachs. The house is 1 mile from the village of Gargunnock, in which there is a well stocked shop, a restaurant pub and a church.

The house looks onto fields and the garden is equipped with a double swing and a sand pit, as well as much running around space for energetic children. There is a built-in barbeque and decking area for outside dining, with a conservatory which opens onto the back garden for when the evening turns a little chilly.

The house itself sleeps up to 9 people - and is configured as a triple, two doubles and one twin room. The kitchen is fully equipped and has a washing machine and dishwasher. There is a dining area within the kitchen and a separate dining room. A family bathroom downstairs and shower room on the upper floor.

Heating is provided by a oil central heating. There is a TV and DVD player available for guest use, as well as an extensive array of books.

We have been renting holiday property for over 3 years and running a bed and breakfast since 2015. Originally from Ireland, and with a husband from Southern Africa, we have lived in Scotland for over 15 years and consider ourselves settled here with our two daughters who grew up in Applegarth. That's why I know families will love to stay there!

Why Karen Andeerson chose Scotland

Applegarth is just outside a small, but friendly village. Guests staying at Applegarth often comment on the welcome they receive in the village shop and the pub. The property itself, is just off the main road so great for links to Stirling, Glasgow and Edinburgh. It has a huge back garden for families or for just sitting admiring the view. There are great views of the Trossachs, and a particularly good view of Ben Lomond from the upstairs bedroom windows. The conservatory is ideal for summer evenings, watching the sun go down over the mountains.
