Great chalet, well located, well appointed, very comfortable

This was a beautiful chalet in a fabulous setting. It was clean, and the bed particularly was very comfortable - something quite unusual normally in holiday rentals. The key collection was simple, and Delphine met us exactly as arranged.

English renters should know that ‘Linen included’ means only bed sheets, duvet cover, duvet and tea towels - it does not include hand or bath towels.

The kitchen was very well equipped, with plenty of cooking equipment and crockery etc., but we did notice the absence of some key items such as cheese grater, tin opener, glass bowl & kitchen scissors. We didn’t ask for them once we noticed, but we are sure that Delphine would have fixed it quickly if we had, but these items should be made available in the future.

The electricity & water are charged by meter reading, which we knew in advance from reading the reviews, and it was good that it was priced exactly as it costs them from the supplier - so often when these utilities are extra, the owners mark up the cost and make themselves extra profit, so it was great to see that it didn’t happen here.

The position locally was quiet, but all the facilities of Thônes were just a 3 minute drive away. We ate at the hotel in Thônes where Delphine worked, the food was good and well priced.

We are cyclists, so being at the foot of some great climbs was good too.

The lost star is because of something we can’t abide - extra charges announced on arrival - an end of stay cleaning charge, unless we wanted to clean it thoroughly before we left. The description on Owners Direct does say ‘housekeeper optional’, but I don’t think anyone would directly translate that as meaning ‘cleaning charge payable, unless you do it yourself’.

This kind of problem was pointed out in a review in March, when a group were surprised on arrival to find electricity charged for, and 3 months later this too has still not been updated in the property details. I can appreciate that these charges may be normal in a ski resort area?, but it is wrong that they are not clear on the website.

Chalet très agréable

Dans l'ensemble nous avons passé un bon séjour dans un très beau chalet.

les +

- Chalet tout neuf bien équipé, très bien pour neuf personnes

- Bien situé, belle vue

- Pas très loin de la Clusaz, 20 mn

les -

- Accueil un peu froid des propriétaires

- Difficile d'accès en cas de neige ( prévoir chaine ! )

- et attention au charge ! car la facture monte vite si vous n'utilisez pas le poil ( bois non-founi )

Owner's Response: Nous vous remercions pour votre commentaire Comme nous l'indiquons dans l'annonce les charges sont en plus, lors de l'arrivée nous indiquons l'enplacement des compteurs pour que vous puissiez mieux gerer votre consommation. Je reconnais que cela "casse l'ambiance " à l'arrivée mais je pense que c'est necessaire pour que tout soi transparent. Pour le bois nous fournissons le premier panier (comme indiqué dans l'annonce), soit une ou deux soirée, vous pouvez ensuite facilement en acheter dans les supermarchés. Nous regrettons que vous mettiez dans les (-) la neige puisque c'est ce que vous êtes venu chercher dans notre belle région, nous recommandons bien sur des pneus en bon état et les chaines au cas où la neige serait trop abondante Nous retiendrons que vous avez passé un bon séjour et nous nous réjouissons que la neige était au rendez vous comme chaque hiver. Week end formidable, chalet très bien aménagé avec goût, très spacieux et moderne.

La situation géographique es idéale a mi chemin des pistes et du lac d’annecy , parfait pour passer un agréable moment de ski. La disponibilitée et l’amabilité de la patronne fut exceptionnel.

Je recommande vraiment ce chalet neuf et cosy à un prix plus que correct par rapport à la qualité de la prestation.

À très vite et pour un séjour plus long j’espere.
