Chalet Yayla is a newly built chalet that has all the feel of a traditional chalet but with a modern and luxurious interior.
You enter the chalet on the first floor. The main living area is double height, there are large sofas around the log fire, a modern kitchen and south facing balcony. Upstairs is a mezzanine, whilst downstairs there are 3 bedrooms, a wet room and bathroom. An additional shower room with WC is on the first floor. There is underfloor heating throughout.
We visited Chalet Yayla over the Christmas period with our extended family. it was great place to spent the Christmas. we arrived couple of days before Christmas and ton was very nicely decorated by nature's great snow. there was no place without snow apart from main road. chalet was very nicely decorated and all the facilities was purpose built. as soon as you enter the chalet there is a small area where you can get your snow gear off and straight into lounge area. nice high ceiling with amazing wooden décor was awesome. main bedroom had an access to main bathroom with nice bath that gets the hot water from thermal well. there is also high pressure walk in wet room with nice rainfall shower head that gives you the best shower massage you could ever get.
bedrooms are very nicely decorated with comfortable beds and traditional wooden shutter on the windws did not let any day light in when they were shut. which makes it perfect for me because I can't sleep when the sun rises.
kitchen facilities were very high standard and we had everything that we needed. it felt like home away from home.
balcony has an amazing view of Alps surrounding the village and a river in front of the chalet.
Ski lift was only 5 minutes walking distance and you did not need to carry your gear and get changed straight after lift. we were getting ready right in front of the Chalet and walking straight to the lift. and most importantly after a nice skiing day, last thing we wanted was to take a bus ride back home. which we did not need to do at all.
I would highly recommend this place and looking forward to go back there. I thing this place will be amazing in the summer. we will definitely go back there in the summer to get a taste of Alps summer.
A fantastic stay in Zinal - what a lovely spot. A real mountain village! The Chalet was perfect, combining all the charm and feel of a classic chalet but with absolutely everything we could want.
Chalet Yayla is in the traditional mountain and ski village of Zinal, in Val d'Anniviers - the heart of the Swiss Alps - with stunning views of the 'Imperial Crown' (five 4000m peaks) at the head of the valley.
In winter the skiing is extensive and the lift pass covers 5 resorts and 220km of piste. Zinal ski domain is linked with Grimentz and provides over 110km of uncrowned piste and a huge variety of terrain for all abilities. Zinal is also a great destination for winter walking and cross country skiing.
In summer, the alpine flowers surround the chalet and cover the mountains, and in autumn the golden larches and snow capped mountains are stunning. There's extensive walking, mountain biking and paragliding and the summer 'liberty pass' gives visitors free cable-car, lift and bus access (plus more) - the perfect way to explore the villages and mountains in the valley.
