We arrived for a week's stay on 30 June, 2012. My three children and six grandchildren came from Denver, Austin and Dallas for a wonderful week at Watercolor. We all loved the house and its location across from the park (which we used often for frisbie and other games) and a block from the "Frog Pool". We made full use of the bikes to explore the trails, go to the Beach Club, the Tennis Club and the shops at Seaside. We were fortunate that our weather was perfect for all our activities. The beach was beautiful and membership at the Beach Club (that comes with the rental) was a real plus. It was nice having towels provided at the beach and at the Frog Pool.
The house was perfect for our needs. Even with fifteen of us, we were never crowded, and even had beds left over. The bedrooms were large The children loved the ping pong table on the screened in porch. The kitchen was very well equipped and the large dining table was a fun gathering place for meals and games. The children enjoyed eating on the stools at the kitchen island/bar.
All in all, It was a most memorable vacation for all of our family, and all of us would heartily recommend Seaglass as a wonderful place for a family reunion and vacation.
This was a return stay for us at Seaglass (158202)and we could see a difference.
Upon arrival we couldn't get in on time because the previous guests had stayed past check out time.
We had grocery items that really needed refrigerated, fortunately, the cleaning crew allowed us to put our stuff in the frig
and then return later to check in.
The mattresses the previous year had been very squeaky and I'd let them know, however they hadn't replaced them.
I was given a discount this year to encourage our return. I was thankful for it, but they really do need replaced.
There was a substantial leak coming from upstairs into the back hallway that was obviously not new.
The house overall is in a fantastic location, it's layout & description was perfect for our group, the amenities of WC are beyond compare,
we just hope that the house will get the attention it needs to compete with the market.
Also, we have pet allergies and noticed upon arrival that our allergies flared up, we wondered if the previous guests had honored the
'no pets allowed' rule.
We had referred several friends to use the house in the past year, however, we are undecided about returning altho' we love so much about the house. We're hoping for some TCL for Seaglass before it's too late.
The house was a super fit for the family. We ended up with 14 people.
The house was clean and ready when promised.
Water Color is an amazing place.
THANKS!! Wish we were still there.
The house worked great for our group. It was clean and everything we needed was set up and ready.
We were contacted before arrival with details that helped us plan our visit and the owners were anxious to
provide a very positive experience. It was so close to the frog pool and with (provided)bikes, a quick trip to Publix or downtown WC or beyond. Plenty of outdoor space, screened and unscreened. The ping pong table was a fun addition for our group too. We are game players and the Living Room and Dining Room layout provided ample space for us to gather together.
The owners had thought of everything we might need. We plan to rent again next year!!
What a fabulous place to gather the extended family!!! It is hard to find a large newer house with enough bedrooms for our crew WITH some privacy AND still has the convenience to beach, pools, shopping and groceries. Finish detail is upscale, bedrooms are large, baths are really nice, there are several porches (ahhh) and the living area is open around the kitchen. It also has a guest house over the garage where the parents stayed for some added privacy away from the younger set. The owner is great and check-in was easy breezy!!
Upon arrival, we parked the cars and pitched the keys in a basket. Then, we just biked around for a week. Loved the quiet location tucked back in Watercolor by the “frog fountain” pool. We had Ping Pong matches on the porch, explored shady bike paths throughout the community, played tennis and relaxed in the pool. Publix, Pizza by The Sea (yum!) and Marketplace Café are all short a bike ride away as well. You also have stunning lake views and boardwalks to enjoy.
Rosemary is tight, Alys is not yet there, Seaside is older and busy, Watersound is too remote. Watercolor has some room to breathe and yet still has EASY access to everything you need.
I am a city guy so I do not really enjoy the hassle of being too far out away from the creature comforts. Watercolor is perfect for being just off the beaten path and away from the chaos without sacrificing convenience and luxury. This property is a rare blend of everything we need to get away and decompress.
Now for the problem...can't justify the house for just my crew and it is hard to get the whole family together... when we can, we will probably rent this house!
Our family had a wonderful time at Seaglass. Perfect place to gather for family reunions! Small kiddos and teenagers as well as grand parents are comfortably accomodated in this home. Seaglass is well maintained and very comfortable and if any problem does arise, the owner is on top of it immediately. I wouldn't hesitate to return in the future to make more beautiful memories in Seaside, Florida.
