Mesmeric Beach View

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic family holiday during Easter week in Rhosneigr. The owner Melanie couldn't have been more accommodating allowing us to stay outside of the usual Saturday-Saturday letting format. The house works very well, and the mesmeric beach view from the first floor sitting room is hard to beat -we didn't need to turn on the telly we were too interested in what was going on-on the beach! Accommodation is very comfortable and the open plan living works really well.Rhosneigr has some great little café/ restaurants and shops-which are all very dog friendly! There are some lovely walks around the lake and to the Oyster Catcher across Broad Beach & over the sand dunes! We didn't really move very far, especially as Tesco now deliver. We did go to the Oriel Gallery in Llangefni -there is a small exhibition of Kyffin Willams and Tunnicliffe's there and a lovely little café. Beaumaris is lovely too and better shopping! Hope to go back next year -just to watch the kite surfers racing the wind surfers!

Great views, great property !

  • 5 of 5

It's well known that it's all about location - and very roomy 5 Beach Terrace is well set up to make the most of the views. On the weekend of our arrival we had Force 8 gales and it was exciting to watch the kite-surfers and windsurfers racing across the massive waves. Although we loved our visit to Newborough Forest, a short foray onto the beach there in the strong winds sand-blasted our faces and we settled for a more comfortable walk along one of the many forest trails.

Pretty Red Wharf Bay on the other side of the island is worth a visit and has two pleasant places to enjoy a coffee or a meal.

Our friend enjoyed her Puffin Island boat trip from Beaumaris - it lasts about 1 and a half hours.

Plas Newydd National Trust property (near Beaumaris) has a wonderful setting overlooking the Menai Strait, boasts a very pretty Italianate garden and is surrounded by lush grounds. A tour of the grand house itself ends in the Rex Whistler room with his massive and stunning tour-de-force painting.

Our favourite visit was to the RSPB reserve at the NW tip of Anglesey - South Stacks - amazing views of the cliffs whose ledges are packed with mainly guillemots and razorbills (a few puffins, difficult to spot), very helpful volunteer staff, a cafe if you need it, and the road leading to South Stacks is worth travelling in its own right!

Rhosneigr is well served with shops and eateries; we really enjoyed Sandy's Bar & Bistro as well as the nearby Oystercatcher.

Melanie has ensured the house is really well equipped - we did eat in the house several times during our stay and lacked for nothing. The beds are comfortable and our friend really enjoyed the huge wet room - her private bathroom since the house has 4 of them.

We were a party of older people in our 70's or 80's and so did not avail ourselves of the watersports at Rhosneigr, but we still enjoyed the beach walks.

Finally, the sunsets really are something to behold and don't worry if there are a few clouds around - they just add another dimension.

A week by the Beach.

  • 5 of 5

The house lived up to hopes and expectations. It was comfortable and spacious. Rooms were adequately sized or better. The en-suite a treat and the living room a great space for all the family.

Fantastically brilliant 3 generation weekend away

  • 5 of 5

Fantastically brilliant three generation weekend away. Massive tardis like house, well furnished and very clean. Ground floor comprises a pool room with sofa, to and games consol, double bedroom, wet room and utility. Upstairs there is a stunning living room with kitchen off, comfy sofas, large dining table and spectacular views. Kitchen is well equipped with suitable sized pots and pans to cater for large numbers. Also on this floor a family bathroom and a double bedroom. Upstairs there is a massive double room with huge ensuite bath an shower room all with stunning beach views. There is also a large family bathroom and two further bedrooms. Beds have good quality mattresses and cosy bedding.

We were blessed with bright sunny winter weather and enjoyed walks around the area and along the beach, down to the Oyster Catcher for coffee.

A fantastic place that we would love to return to, thank you Melanie
