The cabin was nice and clean and the view was amazing.
The cabin was very nice and cozy. We opted to sleep on the pull out couch so we could enjoy listening to the sound of the waterfall through the night and wake up to something few ever get the chance to wake up to. Hospitality was amazing. I will note that the property owner was not expecting a check in the day we arrived (miss communication between property owner and VRBO) however, owner was very polite, gave us a history of the property and some interesting ideas to do in the area other than the normal tourists activities while we waited for a quick clean and the beds to be made. Overall very pleased and happy about our stay.
View out the window was great, but place was not clean in or out, 5 or 6 dogs running loose, fireplace didn’t work, had to ask for toilet paper, tear in bedspread, dehumidifier running 24/7
This place is amazing!!
We just got back from a 3-night stay. It was so much better than we had imagined. The pics don’t do it justice. First, the check-in and check-our process is the easiest that we’ve ever experienced. We got in late (1 am), and our cabin was waiting for us with the light on. Leaving was just as simple. The view is AMAZING!! We enjoyed the rest of our plans, but I really wish that we’d have spent even more time at the cabin. My daughter fell in love with their sweet pups—and it was so wonderful watching my kids get to just be kids. The owner lives close; he checked in and gave us some restaurant and itinerary recommendations. But we had lots of privacy. The cabin is rustic. We loved the Appalachian decor and the sounds of a screen door shutting. We were 20 minutes from Gatlinburg—close enough, but out of that rat race. We come to Gatlinburg once a year, and have never fallen in love with a property like this!! I hope that we can return and spend more time there!
This cabin is so very rare. When I realized the owner lives within a few feet I was a little worried about privacy and feeling "comfortable", that feeling was short lived. Ken made us feel like we were visiting family. My three adult sons and I were able to just spend time together and it was priceless to be unplugged from our busy lives. The cabin itself is historical, I would choose this place hands down over any big fancy chalet. The pictures do not do it justice, the view is incredible with steps walking you right down to the creek. The beds are comfortable, the furnishings are just right. The quilts seriously look like the ones my grandmother made, brought back so many good memories! With four adults we did not feel cramped at all. It does not have a washer/dryer so that would be the only negative thing I can think of. The owner checked in on us to make sure we were comfortable and even suggested a local restaurant that we had driven by so many times over the years and it was fantastic! We will for sure be coming back. We have never felt such a strong connection to a rental before. Between the views, the cabin itself and the owner's true hospitality this is a trip we will never forget. Made priceless memories!
We (4 sisters) had a great time with our mom ( she has alzhiemers ) she enjoyed looking at creek from living room and back porch, only disappointment was it’s not as private as we like ( owners garage is the view from front porch) but if your like us , our time was spent on back porch , and the WiFi wasn’t working which really wasn’t that big of a deal since we went there for family time not phone time and AT&T does not pickup here .
