About the property

3 bedrooms, 1 full bathroom, 1 half bathroom, sleeps 6

This comfortable cottage is on one of the most beautiful lots on Lake Seminole. Enjoy the spectacular lake view through our large living room picture window, from our separate screened porch or on the dock while you watch the ospreys, herons, coots, and turtles go about their day. Fishing is very popular on Lake Seminole, one of the top bass fishing lakes in the U.S. Seminole State Park is only about 5 minutes away and offers hiking, nature trails, a playground, and seasonal canoe rentals. The charming southern town of Bainbridge GA is about 22 miles away and offers antiquing, restaurants, historic homes, and even a super Wal-mart. There are several good local restaurants nearby accessible by boat or car. We'll be happy to tell you about our favorites. If you bring your boat, our front semi-circle driveway offers easy parking and there is a public boat ramp a quarter of a mile away. You could also tie up a couple boats at our dock. There's even an 18-hole golf course nearby. Come enjoy the simple pleasures!

About Cassie Stephens

We are retired educators that love to travel. Each trip takes us to new places and new people but we seem to always return home being thankful for Lake Seminole. We love sharing what we have at Lake Seminole with new friends so they can fall in love with this unique spot too!

Cassie Stephens purchased this house in 2006

Why Cassie Stephens chose Donalsonville

This property is tucked away on a quiet road with 2 acres of privacy. At the same time we are very close to the boat ramp, state park, convenience stores, gas and restaurants!

What makes this house unique

The 2 acre lot, 100 ft dock, separate screened porch as well as outside eating make this property a great stay! We have been blessed to host fishermen, gator hunters, duck hunters, boaters, skiers and people who just want to relax and enjoy nature. We have seen deer in the back yard and can always hear birds singing.

Bonfires on cool nights and sunset canoe rides make this a fun house. Fishing from the dock has been productive for some guests. The sunrise over the lake from the large picture window is a great start to the day!

It was great. The house was perfect.

  • 5 of 5

This was the 2nd time we stayed here. The house was perfect. Cassie was good to help when a small problem developed with the water. I plan on making it a yearly visit.

Love, Love, Love

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful weekend with our 3 grandchildren. We stayed in the bungalow and had a great time. The stairs were a bit of a problem for me but the kids loved the upstairs and I adjusted. I would definitely recommend this property. Cassie was wonderful to work with and I thank her for her hospitality. It really was a special weekend and one that our grandchildren will remember forever.

Not a good rental

  • 1 of 5

Fridge quite working the first night , ac definitely needs repairs and does not blow out cold or hardly any air, dock needs repairs and more than one good tie down for boats, fish cleaning station on dock isn't hooked up and needs replacing pipe for water to run, yard has a big pile of limbs that needs to be removed because a water Snake has made it's home under them in the stump there, LOTS of dog hairs on furniture and table's that was not cleaned , over all not a good experience at this rental and will not consider it again!

Owner's Response: Wow.. in 12 years we have never had this bad of a review. I am sorry you did not enjoy your stay. We work hard to have people enjoy their time with us and return. As for the issues.... I only know that everything worked before you came and when we returned everything worked great as well. The air unit is less than 3 years old and under a maintenance contract so I am not sure what happen with your stay. Could it have been on the wrong setting? As for the fridge , again not sure why it didn’t work for you. You had mentioned that you worked on it??? We offered you a discount on your next stay. The dock is old, we agree. It gets inspected by the Army Corp and we always bring it to compliance if it is not. The Corp has shut down our Cleaning station. We will look into adding a boat cleat, that is easy. The yard has been cleaned up. We had long time renters from up north from January to the end of March. Then we had a week long renter right before you came. We had not had time to refresh the yard from the winter debris. As for the inside issues, they were unacceptable. We have made note and spoken with our house keeper. They are usually excellent cleaners. Again I hate you didn’t enjoy your stay. I would love for you to try us again and take advantage of the 10% discount we offered you.

A Great Lake access fishing house with all the basics.

  • 4 of 5

The fishing was a little slow for us but we had a largest bass for the week of 5.5 lbs .

The house was set up with all the basics you will need. Nice long dock with space for several boats to tie off. A large tree covered back yard for outoor activities or sitting in the shade and relaxing during the hot part of the day, evening campfires and plenty of room for your family pet to run. They also had a detached screen porch for lunches or dinners outside without the bugs. Large circle driveway so it’s easy to access with trucks and trailers . The only negative for this location for me was poor to zero cell service and zero WiFi at the house. Our family had a great week . Thank you for allowing us to rent your lake home for the week.

Quiet Christmas Getaway

  • 4 of 5

The property was lovely, comfortable and had a great view of the lake from the house. The house was clean, except for a couple dirty towels that were left behind the bathroom door and there were used tissues under the pillows in the bedroom. One major safety issue. When you walk into the main bedroom on the right, there is a rather big step down into the room. There needs to be some sort of warning or alert to that. It was not expected when going into an unfamiliar house and my stumble could have been a lot worse.

All in all it is really a great lake house and we were not disappointed at all!

Owner's Response: Thanks for coming and taking good care of our house. So glad you enjoyed the beautiful lake view and felt comfortable during your stay. We will make note to our house keeper about the items that were left unattended. We do have it cleaned after each stay. We appreciate your suggestion about the step down warning. We will post a notice. Thanks for coming. We would love to have you come back.
