About Gail Peters

We have owned Middle Barn for 17 years and used it for our personal enjoyment whilst following our interest in golf, walking, fishing, cycling, wildlife watching, photography and cooking.

Gail Peters purchased this cottage in 2001

Why Gail Peters chose Christon Bank

We love this area because it offers everything you could want. It combines miles of sandy beaches, the most beautiful countryside and coastline with lovely towns and villages and friendly people. There are a number of excellent pubs in the area which offer good ale & great food.

What makes this cottage unique

Our cottage is very well appointed and feels like home. It's the one place we get a good nights sleep. It's very cosy, relaxing and peaceful. We have a queue of relatives and friends who love to visit Middle Barn. We enjoy the beautiful countryside and its wildlife, friendly people and proximity to beach, countryside and historic attractions.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Lovely relaxing break with my wife, her mam and dad and our pet dog Dougie. We were only a very short drive from some lovely beaches at newton by the sea and Beadnell... and some nice little pubs. The ship did a lovely pint and had a friendly atmosphere and we ate at the jolly fisherman at Crastet(crab sandwich was amazing!) both pubs welcoming us and our dog in :-) the area is stunning and would definitely reccommmend. The cottage was also lovely and allowed us to relax on an evening and even have a competitive game of scrabble. The place just had character and was ideal for our break. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend !

Idyllic cottage in beautiful location

  • 4 of 5

Beautiful cottage in peaceful location. Very spacious and comfortable inside, tastefully decorated. Enjoyed sitting with a glass of wine in the courtyard which was a real sun trap. Comfortable beds, but no wardrobe space in the small double and twin rooms. The shower was adequate but not very powerful. It was useful to have a supply of kitchen essentials ie. fairy liquid, tea towels, dishwasher tabs etc. Great location for dog walking and only 10 mins drive to local beach. Great eating out places only a short drive away. We will definitely return to Middle Barn.
