Very cosy cottage which was clean and tidy. Location ideal for exploring the Northumberland coast

  • 5 of 5

Very pleasant week at Middle Barn cottage. All facilities were exactly as described with a real feeling of a home from home. Good sized rooms with 2 beds upstairs (double & twin) and another twin bed downstairs. Big kitchen with access to enclosed courtyard round back, which was lovely private outside space for our BBQs. Also enjoyed the lawns to the front of cottage with lots of space to park several cars. Location was excellent to explore the local coastline with easy access to Low Newton, Seahouses and Bamburgh. We came for the beaches and were overwhelmed with their dramatic beauty and how empty they were given our visit in August. We've had a wonderful holiday and would love to come back soon.

Lovely cottage - perfect for a family break and very dog friendly

  • 5 of 5

Middle Barn is a comfortable, welcoming and spacious cottage in a beautiful setting. As a family of four, we and our son (14) and daughter (11) all had plenty of space to relax separately as well as eat and spend time together, and the courtyard was perfect for our dog. The cottage is very well-equipped and the beds were incredibly comfortable! The setting of the cottage is lovely, with open fields at the front and really private outdoor seating/eating areas - coffee in the courtyard every morning set us up for the day. The location is great - easy to access the coastal area from Alnmouth up to Bamburgh and we had some great walks along the beach - Low Newton and the lovely Ship Inn were particular favourite haunts. All in all we had a super week at Middle Barn and would highly recommend the property.

As described, a cosy property with a very well equipped kitchen, nice bedrooms and modern bathroom.

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay here, a cosy warm place to come back to after a busy time visiting castles or playing on one of the many stunning beaches. Everything worked as described, bar a lack of hot water in the evening and a rather low pressure shower. The kitchen was great and well equipped, the master bedroom lovely.. and a clean modern bathroom. The owner was very helpful and answered any queries, all in all highly recommended!

Absolutely loved it!

  • 5 of 5

Lovely relaxing break with my wife, her mam and dad and our pet dog Dougie. We were only a very short drive from some lovely beaches at newton by the sea and Beadnell... and some nice little pubs. The ship did a lovely pint and had a friendly atmosphere and we ate at the jolly fisherman at Crastet(crab sandwich was amazing!) both pubs welcoming us and our dog in :-) the area is stunning and would definitely reccommmend. The cottage was also lovely and allowed us to relax on an evening and even have a competitive game of scrabble. The place just had character and was ideal for our break. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend !

Well worth a visit!

  • 5 of 5

Fabulous cottage, spacious and cosy, super safe courtyard for dogs and young children. In a lovely peaceful location, close to great beaches and country walks. Only a short drive from many excellent restaurants. The beds in the cottage are extremely comfortable and guarantee a great nights sleep!

Travelling in our party were 4 adults, 2 children and a 7 month old Bernese Mountain Dog. The cottage easily catered for all our needs and was a real home from home for the week. Would definitely recommend it. The Watson Family, Glasgow
