About the property

3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, short walk to bars and restaurants, private parking.

Lopes is a spacious quayside house overlooking the fishing harbour, marina, fish market, and with commanding views across Torbay and Lyme Bay. Lopes was built during the 1700's. Once a pub; in 1860 it was known as 'The Lopes Arms'. Since then it has gone through several transformations, but is still at the heart of the fishing town, always bustling with activity during the Easter and Summer months, and is only minutes walk from the many bars, restaurants, shops and the coastal path.

Unusually for a quayside property Lopes has private off-road parking for two cars only a few minutes walk away.

With three bedrooms, two bathrooms a utility room and a small courtyard ideal for drying off swimwear after a day on the beach, Lopes is ideal for families wishing to explore Brixham and the surrounding area. In one of the bedrooms the two single beds can be fixed together and be made up as a double if required (please advise at time of booking). The living area is on the third floor to take best advantage of the panoramic views. From here you can observe every sailboat, power boat and fishing boat that enters and leaves Brixham harbour.

Breakwater Beach and Shoalstone Seawater Pool are within easy walking distance. Catching crabs on the quayside is very popular and of course there is the replica Golden Hind to visit and pirates are ever-present!

Despite being built nearly two hundred years ago, Lopes has spacious rooms (especially compared to many of the fishermen's cottages), and has recently been fully modernised to an exceptionally high standard.

Lopes was the house I just had to have as soon as I saw it - its location is perfect.

What makes this house unique

Hardly any other quayside properties can offer private off-road parking. Most people renting around the harbour are left hunting for parking spaces in the busy car parks and, further afield, on the roads without yellow lines.

The two parking spaces are about 350 metres from Lopes - four or five minutes walk.

Excellent property

Loved every moment staying at Lopes. The property was just as described. From opening the front door we were greeted with a large hallway, downstairs cloak room, and the on suite double bedroom. Also a laundry room leading to the back yard. On the first floor we found two other bedrooms and the family bathroom which were absolutely spotless and very comfortable. The second floor was the kitchen dining/lounge room, which had wonderful views over the harbour. The house is beautifully decorated throughout and in a wonderful location right in the centre of Brixham. I would highly recommend this property and will hopefully be back again soon.

Five star accommodation in a five star location.

An immaculate accommodation ,absolutely everything provided ,all to a high specification.

Thankyou to the owners who respond promptly to any query , and are very welcoming to their beautiful spacious property in the heart of Brixham.

Car parking spaces are made available and there is very little need to use the car as an excellent (and cheap) ferry service runs around the Torbay area .

We all had a very enjoyable week 😀

Top quality property in prime position in Brixham harbour

We had a very enjoyable holiday at this outstanding property with our family. The top floor kitchen/dining/living area has stunning views over the harbour. It certainly has that 'wow' factor! Information regarding arrival and parking etc was comprehensive and the owner was easy to contact. All in all a perfect property in a perfect location.

Fabulous property, super clean with everything you need and in a wonderful location

Lopes was an extremely modern, clean, warm and inviting property. The owners have thought of everything you will need and even left goodies, such as chocs, wine and fruit.

Highly recommend staying at this house. Apart from a few steps you are right on the quayside and the views from the living area are fantastic.

Amazing accommodation

Was well impressed with accommodation and location. Everything supplied. Bathrooms immaculate. Lovely decor. Amazing views over the harbour. Short distance from the town. Even thou it was pet friendly the whole accommodation was immaculate. Car parking was not to far away. Would well recommend. Would definitely be staying again.

Great location to explore Brixham

First impression - meticulously clean - would like to have the housekeeper!

Very nicely positioned next to harbour (the fish get unloaded pretty early in the morning in case you're a light sleeper)...close to many places to eat and shop.

Be aware that Brixham, like most Devon coastal towns, is hilly - expect to climb a bit while you are there but you will get fantastic views in return.

Brixham is an excellent place to be based for exploring South Devon. Dartmouth, with it's marina, castle and naval college, Dartmoor national park for awe-inspiring walks including the mysterious Wistmans Wood, and quaint Totnes town are just some of the places of interest.
