Located in the Swiss Mountains above the Heber Valley just a short drive from Park City, Deer Valley, The Canyons, and Sundance Ski Resorts. Just 50 minutes from the Salt Lake City airport and all of the attractions of the greater Salt Lake City area. A perfect family vacation destination!
This small but cozy cabin is situated at the end of a mountain road with only the Wasatch behind you and fantastic views of Heber Valley before you. Hike up the mountains from a trail starting at the foot of our property, or just sit on the deck swing and enjoy the perfect silence as hot air balloons rise over the valley. You're literally at the end of the road so, don't be surprised to see elk, deer and foxes running around the property. Road and driveway are plowed in winter.
The cabin is a fully furnished and meticulously maintained. It's been our family retreat for years.
There is ample room to sleep 6 people comfortably. It’s 1300 square feet with three bedrooms (two small rooms upstairs each with trundle beds and one room downstairs with a queen bed), a bathroom, a loft, and family room with vaulted ceiling and big windows overlooking the Heber Valley. Outside is an enormous deck and deck swing. Below is the garage with washer and dryer.
The cabin was remodeled six years ago and since then we've used it only a few times each year. It's not luxuriant, but it is extremely clean and very comfortable. And you can't beat the location. It’s close enough to reach with just a short drive from the main road in Midway, but far enough away to leave it all behind and enjoy the peace and beauty of a mountain retreat.
We stayed at this cabin for three nights during Swiss Days.
Overall the property had many positives. The views are amazing. Overall very private. Extremely close to Midway, Zermatt, Homestead and Wasatch Mountain State Park, Air Conditioning and Heater, and a nice open feel with great lighting with the big windows.
We did have a few issues that made for a less perfect stay. The twin beds upstairs have very old bedding. The sheets have lots of holes and overall had a very musty smell. The blankets and sheets are kept in plastic protectors, but the protectors weren't zipped up and the blankets looked very old and worn. As others have mentioned, the Master Bedroom mattress is very firm, could definitely use an upgrade. The other issue we encountered was lots and lots of bugs. Lots of spiders, many of which would make webs in the night. (Laundry room was chalk full of them). Also saw quite a few earwigs and centipedes. We acknowledge that this is a cabin along the mountainside, but for $60 a quarter you can have pest control spray a nice barrier around the home.
Overall we stayed here so we could enjoy Swiss Days, and that we did. I will say this place was perfect distance from the festival without being too close to the heavy traffic that the event brings. Lots of great food in the area, highly recommend Spin Cafe in Heber and Cafe Galleria in Midway for food.
The cabin is the furthest back in the valley any of them go which is nice. It has a really nice view and fun little things you can do around the area.
We had a wonderful stay! So simple to reserve and just as advertised. Perfect location, great price, beautiful view and very comfortable. I highly recommend.
I was very pleased with our stay here. It was perfect. Marilyn was excellent to work with and the place was amazing. We will definitely come back.
This cabin was exactly what I'd hoped for! I wanted a something that really felt like a cabin, but was comfortable and had everything we needed. This cabin was perfect, filled with beautiful polished wood, and a wall of windows overlooking a fantastic view of the Heber Valley. It felt very secluded, surrounded by woods and the mountains, and was peaceful and quiet. My kids loved the loft bedrooms and seeing birds, chipmunks, raccoons, rabbits, and lots of wildlife. My husband and I enjoyed the porch swing and being out in the fresh air. Would definitely recommend!
We stayed for my father's birthday weekend. My husband and I have two children under two and found this cabin to be the perfect layout for watching kids. The living room, dining, and kitchen are open and visible from each room. If you have children, bring a gate for the stairs. The view cannot be beat! We spent a lot of time on the porch swing, looking at the view. Make sure to get directions from your GPS/mapquest/app, etc. It is not easy to find. I do wish this location had a fireplace and allowed pets - we'd stay a lot.
