The cottage Ai Paian

In the woods, fields and vineyards of Dolcetto, just beyond the medieval walls of Dogliani, Ai Paian seems born to encompass all the beauty of these places: history, culture and pleasure of good things. To preserve this, Fabrizio and his partner have recovered the house so true to tradition, carefully choosing materials and furnishings in the rooms and common areas reserved. Wi-Fi.

Part of the main structure, the pool is the ideal center of the court, a special place that combines the pleasure of relaxation and excitement of a unique view of the surrounding hills.

In rooms that once housed the stables has been recreated a cozy lounge where guests can meet and share their experiences of living and, why not challenge at the pool table.

Here you will find a collection of photography books on the territory and all the tourist information to make your stay an unforgettable experience.

In Piedmont, the Langhe is one of many ways in which it is called a hill. Because of the hills it has made this land: gentle slopes and soft, wide valleys that cross the rows, interrupted occasionally by villages, roads, trails and streams. The Langhe is a place of simple people and priceless treasures. Its agricultural resources, among which the most precious and noble wine, join a long history of crafts, a culinary one of the most celebrated in Italy, and passion for all the pleasures that are grown with commitment and patience.

In the Langhe, everything seems created for the wine. Its valleys offer an ideal rotation of microclimates, unique and special; the soil, consisting of alternating layers of clay, sand and limestone, contributes to the variety of the grapes; the marked temperature range gives body and flavor to the grapes. Dolcetto, Barbera, Pelaverga, Moscato, Arneis, Favorita, Nebbiolo and then, which created some of the world's most precious wines like Barbaresco and Barolo wines of the Langhe are an infinite wealth of taste and tradition, dedicated to fans of all the world.

The culinary tradition of these lands can count on raw materials of excellence. Why Langheno differ only in the wine: this is the home of the truffle, the precious "white Alba", here are wonderful cheeses such as Castelmagno, Murazzano robiole and Roccaverano and Raschera. And then the hazelnuts from Piedmont, the Bra sausage and the typical tajarin, small egg noodles. Flavors and scents of a land that has made the pleasure of eating a real vocation.

The property is not far from the center of Dogliani, one of the most characteristic of the whole territory. A country full of life and architectural treasures: walking through its streets of medieval meet precious examples of Piedmontese Baroque buildings and clear influences from the late Gothic. Outside the walls, then it is impossible to miss in the vineyards of Dolcetto, the flagship of these hills, and in countless churches and chapels scattered among the fields.

Langhe and Roero

Castles, museums, churches and sanctuaries, nature parks. And of course the vineyards sprouting everywhere in these hills. Elected to UNESCO World Heritage Site, these lands are the quintessence of a culture of centuries and an environment rich in resources, to discover and rediscover each trip. The taste is the main theme of each path: here was born the adventure of Slow Food, these parts are located the University of Taste, the Museum of Barolo, and great food events like Cheese and Vinum.

Just an hour's drive, Turin is a must for those who want to combine a relaxing pleasure of discovering an ancient metropolis. An offer architectural and cultural precious: international museums such as the Egyptian, the Film Museum and the Automobile, contemporary art, elegant squares and monuments, the Royal Residences in the city and the Crown of Delights, the ring of old houses Savoy surrounding the city. Not to mention the great food and wine events and offer unique.

Lovely and peaceful apartment in beautiful Langhe region

  • 5 of 5

We spent one wonderful week at Ai Paian in August. The Dolcetto apartment was lovely - spacious enough for 2, cozy, comfortable, and beautifully decorated, with 2 outdoor spaces. The kitchen was well equipped to prepare meals, and if there is something you need, Fabrizio and Marina will do their best to provide it. The bedroom on the top floor was spacious and the bed was comfortable. Although it was hot during our stay, there was no need for A/C in the apartment. The property itself has a quiet beauty, enhanced by Fabrizio's artwork and Marina's designer's touch. We really enjoyed swimming and reading by the lovely pool, and the views from the pool are stunning. The Langhe region in Piedmonte is beautiful - rolling hills of vineyards and hazelnut orchards with dotted hilltop villages and a distant view of the Alps, and Ai Paian is a great location to explore this region. Highlights included visiting small towns like Bossolasco, La Morra, Barolo, Bra and Saluzzo; the daily nocciola gelato, Binelli's restaurant down the road, the wine, the sound of cicadas, and just driving around the region and "getting lost and discovering whatever awaits you", as Fabrizio suggested. Fabrizio and Marina we're welcoming and kind hosts, from the responsive and professional correspondence leading up to our trip to our time spent there. They were always available and happy to provide information about the region and were kind enough to accompany us for a lovely evening of wine tasting with a local organic wine producer (Corscina Corte - great wine!). We also enjoyed getting to know Fabrizio and Marina better over a glass of wine in their home. Their love for this region and passion for creating a beautiful space for themselves and their guests makes Ai Paian truly special. As regular travelers to Europe, we have visited many beautiful countries, cities and towns and have always enjoyed discovering new places but have never returned to the same place. This has now changed. After visiting this region and staying at Ai Paian, we definitely want to go back (hopefully next year). There was something very special about our experience there that was about much more than seeing a new place; it was an emotional connection to this particular place and the people. Thank you, Fabrizio and Marina, for sharing your beautiful home with us!

Stunning apartment in a heavenly location

  • 5 of 5

To put this review in context, we have been travelling extensively, staying in apartments for 15years. Also, this is the first review of the property as we were the first guests of this new listing.

The enquiry and booking of the property were dealt with promptly and smoothly by Fabrizio who speaks excellent English French and of course his native Italian. We were warmly welcomed by Fabrizio and Marina who gave us the necessary information on the apartment, property and surrounding area. Their generosity and hospitality became evident over the following weeks as they introduced us to many aspects of the local culture. They have a genuine love and a passion for the life in the Langhe and want to share it others.

The apartment is as beautiful as depicted in the photographs. It is in a peaceful and picturesque setting amongst wine and hazelnut farms. The apartment is in pristine condition and tastefully decorated in a country chic style. The bed is comfortable, there is a good hot shower, the kitchen is well stocked and the sitting room is comfortable and bright. The apartment also has an excellent heating system. There is a well maintained swimming pool with stunning views for lazy days when not exploring the region. We had enjoyable games of pool in the Pool Room with Fabrizio. Marina was kind enough to take us to the local fresh market and introduce us to local vendors. She also made available herbs from her Italian Herb Garden.

The apartment is situated a short drive from Dogliani, a small attractive township. Here you can find bars, restaurants, wineshops (enoteca) and many small boutique shops. There is a supermarket and a fresh market every Tuesday and Saturday Morning. In addition, the old section of town is a delight to wander in and has a number of buildings of historical interest.

We had a wonderful time exploring this justly world famous wine producing area with gorgeous towns such as Alba, Monforte, Bra etc all within easy reach of the apartment. The region is also famous for its food and in particular the Slow Food Movement. Turin is 1 hour away and is well worth a visit, especially the new Egyptian Museum.

In our 15 yrs of travel, the owners, Fabrizio and Marina have provided us with an experience we will not forget in introducing us to the local culture, its food, wine and people. We will be back for more. We would strongly recommend Ai Paian to anyone intending to visit the Piedmont region.

Ruhig gelegenes Apartment

  • 4 of 5

Entspannung Pur

  • 5 of 5

  • 5 of 5
