I offer in the heart of the Val di Chiana in the province of Siena typical Tuscan house is not situated in the countryside but inserted in a picturesque village at the foot of Montepulciano, a medieval town perched on a hill, surrounded by century walls and fourteenth century, cradle artists and art treasures precious.
Abbadia the pace is slow and the house is located in a neighborhood made of similar dwellings, with a small garden at the front of the house or on the back. For facades using old bricks mixed with stones, for exterior finishes are handled brick alive the characteristic dark red, but it is essential that you respect the style and the Tuscan landscape.
Abbadia you can spend a few days off from the pace of the world of work, done in a calm beauty, silence and smells of the gardens and the gardens. But it would be a shame not to look around, because a short distance - at most a few tens of kilometers. - You can visit sites of incredible beauty both natural and artistic.
At home you arrive just in cars, and with that same car suggest you take the tour of the Val di Chiana and Val d'Orcia, not far.
The students can meet Pienza, medieval town by Pope Pius VI, with its narrow streets - the famous Via dell'Amore which leads to an incomparable panorama that reaches the Monte Amiata; Montalcino, best known for its wine but its artistic assets; Bagno Vignoni ordered by Pope Pius VI (for his beloved subjects, whose main square is made up of a huge spa pool; Trequanda, village perched turreted and worthy of being visited and remembered; the ancient village L'Amorosa, Abbeys, Cathedrals and a host of places and landscapes of extraordinary beauty.
Siena is then less than 50 Km. From Abbey, and you can visit in one day, returning home in the evening.
Even the capital of Umbria Perugia is less than 50 km from Abbadia, and to reach it you pass near Assisi very well known for the Basilica of San Francesco, the Portiuncula and holy places now so dear to our Pope that bears his name.
My guests will benefit first of all the structure of the house where it will stay, equipped with all amenities, large, bright and spacious, with a terrace overlooking the Val di Chiana and where you can admire the small ancient villages surrounding a garden where you can stop and rest.
Nearby, there are shops and shops, two supermarkets, a pharmacy and - if necessary - to three Km. From Abbadia a hospital of excellence. Next to the house there is a deli where you can buy typical local dishes, but at Abbadia, Montepulciano and around the Sienese of trattorias, pizzerias and restaurants you'll be spoiled for choice, and all offer the typical dishes and delicious Tuscan cuisine.
The house Abbadia has undergone renovations and alterations, but dates back more than 200 years ago, and has always been the home of my father's family.
Despite being a country house, it has been decorated with antique furniture and delicate, and refined with decorations, paintings and works pretty well but delicate.
E 'equipped with utilities (electricity and gas) sufficient for large spaces, while respecting a normal use of the many appliances that complement the house (two electric water heaters, washing machine, dishwasher etc.).
The only recommendation is to use the house as if it were the Abbey where my guests usually live here is the true and only rule of conduct!
