Overview

About the property

A well located comfortable house near local beaches and amenities.

'Carvinack' is a light, spacious and welcoming 1 bedroom (sleeping 3) semi-detached property located in a quiet residential area close to the beaches of Gyllyngvase, Castle Beach and Swanpool with its nature reserve. The town centre, harbour and seafront are either a very short drive or a comfortable walk away.

The property has a neutral decor and a tastefully appointed comfortable interior. On the ground floor you enter the property through an enclosed porch leading to the front door where you will find a good sized lounge with an LCD TV, DVD player and a stereo (all Sony). There is plenty of comfortable seating including a sofa, reclining armchair and a bay window leather lounge chair/footstool. Vintage 'Ercol' elm furniture features throughout the property.

French doors lead to the very well equipped kitchen/dining room with built in oven and hob as well as a microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and washing machine. You will find an extensive array of cooking equipment should you choose to dine at home.

A door leads to the light and airy bathroom at the rear of the property with WC, basin and a corner glass shower cubicle.

A staircase from the lounge leads to a comfortable bedroom with an en-suite WC. The double bed with a John Lewis pocket sprung mattress has good quality bedding complimented by a colourful 'Sanderson' Roman blind and cushions. An LCD TV ss on top of a stripped pine chest of drawers. You will find plenty of hanging space and room for clothes and suitcases in the double mirrored wardrobe and chests of drawers. Please feel free to bring a travel cot and if you have a child we can provide a single 'Z bed' complete with feather and down duvet upon request to be located either in the bedroom or lounge.

Full gas fired central heating with radiators in every room and a living flame gas fire in the lounge.

Complimentary guest Wi-Fi via a high speed fibre optic broadband connection.

Throughout the property you will find contemporary original artwork.

Parking is provided directly outside the property on the drive. A small decked private courtyard area is situated to the rear of 'Carvinack' complete with a table, chairs, parasol and BBQ. Smoking is permitted in this area but not inside the house itself.

The owners live next door and are often on hand if you require assistance or would like to ask for recommendations about places to visit or local restaurants/bars to enjoy a meal or drink.

The nearby railway station and bus routes are within easy walking distance and plenty of good local taxi firms are available.

Falmouth is a wonderful place to visit at any time of the year and has a busy calendar of local events. It is also an excellent base to visit other parts of Cornwall during your stay.

Short break in Falmouth

  • 5 of 5

Lovely place to stay, very comfortable and well equipped with everything we needed. Andrew and Rachel were very flexible about when we could arrive which was great.

The property is a short walk into Falmouth (and all its attractions) and a taxi back up the hill is cheaper than the bus. Would definitely recommend and will stay again if we are in the area.

Cosy and comfortable

  • 5 of 5

The property is well appointed and clean and comfortable, in a quiet part of Falmouth. The railway is a short walk away and you can easily access the town by foot so no need for the car. The owners have thought of everything a guest could need and are friendly and welcoming. The weather was not great whilst we stayed but 'Carvinack' provided cosy and comfortable shelter from the storms, we were glad to get back some days and tuck ourselves in for the night. Highly recommended.

Best appointed cottage we have stayed in.

  • 5 of 5

The property was clean and comfortable with everything you could possibly need. A lot of thought had been put into what the guest would require and everything was of good quality. Parking was superb. We would definitely stay again as our son and family live very close by. I would recommend this property to anyone. You will not be disappointed.

Lovely stay in a comfortable property

  • 5 of 5

This is a very clean and comfortable property . Nothing is too much trouble for the owners . There is nothing extra you will need . Easy access to Falmouth . It is downhill going but uphill coming back . Taxis from town were only £3.20 if you don't fancy the walk back !

Perfect Cosy Cottage

  • 5 of 5

This is a delightful spacious one bedroom property; warm, cosy and beautiful decorated. The kitchen is so well equipped and there isn't a single item I can think off that was missing, plus everything appeared to be new. The bedroom has plenty of wardrobe space and drawers. The bed is so comfortable with high quality bedding aiding a perfect nights sleep. There's also a small en-suite which is ideal and there is a large shower room/bathroom downstairs, plus luxury towels supplied. We stayed over Christmas and the owners had put up a Christmas tree and added beautiful Christmas decorations. They also welcomed us with a bottle of fizz, chocolates and milk to set us up for the beginning of our break. There is nothing negative I can say - everything was just perfect!
