About the property

A Well Located Comfortable House Near To Local Beaches And Town Centre

'Carvinack' is a light, spacious and welcoming 1 bedroom (sleeping 3) semi-detached property located in a quiet residential area close to the beaches of Gyllyngvase, Castle Beach and Swanpool with its nature reserve. The town centre, harbour and seafront are either a very short drive or a comfortable stroll away.

The property has recently been decorated with a neutral decor and a tastefully appointed comfortable interior. On the ground floor you enter the property through an enclosed porch leading to the front door where you will find a good sized lounge with LCD TV, DVD player and audio facilities. There is plenty of comfortable seating, a sofa, reclining armchair and a bay window leather lounge chair/footstool. The seating is complimented by vintage 'Ercol' elm furniture that features throughout the house.

French doors lead to the very well equipped kitchen/dining room with built in oven and hob as well as a microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and washing machine. You will find an extensive array of cooking equipment should you choose to dine at home.

The dining area has an 'Ercol' dining table and chairs. A vintage 'Roberts' radio in the kitchen to pick up the shipping forecast or enjoy some music or news while preparing meals.

A door leads to the light and airy bathroom at the rear of the property with WC, basin and a corner glass shower cubicle.

A staircase from the lounge leads to a comfortable bedroom with an en-suite WC. The double bed has good quality bedding complimented by a colourful 'Sanderson' Roman blind and cushions. An LCD TV with built in DVD player sits on top of a stripped pine chest of drawers. You will find plenty of hanging space and room for clothes and suitcases in the built in wardrobes and chests of drawers. Please feel free to bring a travel cot and if you have a child we can provide a single 'Z bed' complete with feather and down duvet upon request.

Full gas fired central heating with radiators in every room and a living flame gas fire in the lounge.

Complimentary guest Wi-Fi

Throughout the property you will find contemporary original artwork.

Off street parking on a drive outside the property. A decked private courtyard area to the rear of 'Carvinack' with table, chairs, parasol and a BBQ. Smoking is permitted in this area but not inside the house itself.

The owners are located next door and are often on hand if you require assistance or would like to ask for recommendations about places to visit or local restaurants/bars to enjoy a meal or drink.

The nearby railway station and bus routes are within easy walking distance and plenty of good local taxi firms are available.

Upcoming events:

Falmouth Oyster Festival

8 - 11 October 2015 | Events Square, Falmouth

Falmouth Oyster Festival celebrates the start of the oyster dredging season, the diversity and quality of Cornish Seafood and in particular, one of the last remaining traditional oyster fisheries, dredging by sail and hand punt.

Each year, a cookery master-class from a celebrity chef, followed by a book signing opens the festival. Packed with cookery demonstrations by leading local chefs, oysters, seafood, wine and local ale, children's shell painting, sea shanties, a town parade, and live music, an oyster shucking competition, a Falmouth Working Boat race and marquees brimming with Cornish produce; the festival is a must for all oyster, seafood and maritime heritage enthusiasts!

Falmouth Oyster Festival has seen an increasing number of Cornish food and drink producers promoting their quality produce alongside the longstanding craft fair stalls in the festival marquee. Festival visitors can savour the expanding range of mouth watering Cornish food and drink, both on site whilst taking in the festival atmosphere or to take home and enjoy!

Perfect Cosy Cottage

  • 5 of 5

This is a delightful spacious one bedroom property; warm, cosy and beautiful decorated. The kitchen is so well equipped and there isn't a single item I can think off that was missing, plus everything appeared to be new. The bedroom has plenty of wardrobe space and drawers. The bed is so comfortable with high quality bedding aiding a perfect nights sleep. There's also a small en-suite which is ideal and there is a large shower room/bathroom downstairs, plus luxury towels supplied. We stayed over Christmas and the owners had put up a Christmas tree and added beautiful Christmas decorations. They also welcomed us with a bottle of fizz, chocolates and milk to set us up for the beginning of our break. There is nothing negative I can say - everything was just perfect!

Home from home comfort.

  • 5 of 5

A perfect home from home only better! Decor looks as though it is brand new. Comfortable beds and furniture in modern surroundings. Modern well equipt kitchen abd bathroom which has everything you need, the owners have thought of all your needs plus more! Andrew was always contactable and made our stay a pleasant comfortable one. We also had a lovely welcome of Proseco, milk and fresh flowers on our arrival. As we were only staying for 4 nights I thought that was very thoughtful. Would love to book again.

An outstanding property, highly reccommended

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for a short break at the end of October for Sally's birthday. This property is lovely, very well equipped with everything you could need, particularly the kitchen. Everywhere was spotless & it is very tastefully decorated, like a show house but cosy. The goodies left for our arrival (champagne & biscuits) were a very nice touch & unexpected - thank you.

The property is reasonably located if you wish to walk into Falmouth, I would say between 15 & 30 minutes depending on which end of town you go to. If that is too far or it is raining I believe there is a good bus service into town - see the owners for advice. We were quite happy to leave the car on the drive which was another nice facility & walked into town or along the promenade everyday. There is also a great train service to Truro, a local station is 2 mins away.

If you are eating in Falmouth you will be spoilt for choice. See tripadvisor, we visited a few out of the top ten & they were all excellent, some are quite small so booking may be advisable.

Unfortunately we only met the owners briefly as we were about to leave as they were away during our stay, we would have liked to have spent more time chatting to them.

We cannot say anything negative about this property, it really felt like staying in someone's home.

Lovely house, home from home.

  • 5 of 5

Lovely well maintained and clean house in quiet area of Falmouth, in walking distance of the town, harbour and beaches.

Excellent facilities, kitchen modern and well equipped for cooking meals, however we did eat out in some of the many wonderful restaurants in the town, we would recommend The Stable.

Beds very comfortable, even the pull out z bed, lovely bed linen and towels. On arrival lovely welcoming touches, fresh flowers, wine and milk in the fridge.

Thank you Andrew and Rachel for renting us your lovely home, we would highly recommend it and hope to return for a longer holiday next time.

Such a cosy place to stay. Everything is so new and the furniture so comfortable. There is plenty of space for three. The owners were very helpful and went out of their way to accommodate our requests. We will return for sure.
