Cozy, Historical, and Close to Main Street, Sleeps 6
About Rachel Hirth
I have lived in St. Charles and St. Louis my entire life - I love the small town feel of Saint Charles and I love how close we are to the wonderful city of St. Louis - the history in both areas is amazing and beautiful! I love traveling more than anything and I love to be able to provide a home away from home for those that have the same love of travel!
Rachel Hirth purchased this Townhouse in 2017
Why Rachel Hirth chose Saint Charles
This house is cozy and historic - being built in 1860 - and still has all the amenities you could ask for when traveling and not wanting to be in a hotel! The 10 foot ceilings and exposed brick are just a few areas of charm within the walls.

Cute and clean!
We really liked our stay! Plenty of room and very clean. The only thing that we didn’t realize ahead of time is the bedrooms are upstairs and the bathroom is on the main floor. There is a pull out couch bed on first floor but we didn’t want to mess with that. It wasn’t a problem - just something to be aware of if you don’t want to do the stairs.
Great Space, Ideal Location!
Overall, this property was great. It was in a great location and easy to get around. It's a bargain for the amount of space you get for the price per night. It was only my husband and I and there was ample room.
*The bathroom is pretty updated and includes a washer and dryer which was great for us. The kitchen had everything we needed, as did the living room and dining room (which we didn't use). The TV in the living room was hooked up to all the streaming channels which we loved and the couch also folds out into a small day bed. The place is decorated pretty nicely too.
*The stairs are very steep. Only the bedrooms are upstairs which is fine, however getting up in the middle of night to use the bathroom and going back and forth from the bathroom to the bedrooms using the stairs got tiring. I mean, these stairs are almost straight up. Again, it's a historic home which is expected but towards to end of the week, our legs/calves were feeling the burn! The beds in the rooms are not very comfortable. This is to be expected too as it is a rental property. Lots of pillows available though to help mitigate the uncomfortable mattress. It got SO hot upstairs. Even with the A/C cranked down, the hot air rises and makes it steamy. The owner should invest in some nice fans for both the rooms so that people are more comfortable.
The only other thing that was a nuisance was the retirement home/rehab facility across the street had a horrible flashing emergency light for the first two nights we were there. The way the bedroom windows faced the facility, the light shined right into the rooms and when all the lights were off was such a distraction. After two nights of this, we contacted the owner who then contacted the facility and had it remedy, which we greatly appreciated.
All in all, we would stay here again! It has everything you'd ever need for your stay!
Cute little house
The house was cute and clean.
Very short walk to tastey Italian restaurant, leave the car at the rental. Highly recommend First Watch for brunch.
Cute and comfortable. Close to downtown St. Charles.
Great place! Walked to everything we wanted. Clean!!
We loved the property. The entire area had amazing, old architecture that we really enjoy.
