|Minimum Stay||3 - 4 nights|
The beautiful roof beams and cosy interior give this apartment an extra touch. Besides that it is spacious and comfortable. The location is wonderful. Stroll through the streets to the Florence cathedral and enjoy the beauty of this city.
You’ll find the laid back San Lorenzo area just to the north of the Duomo. It’s also close to the Santa Maria Novella international transport terminal.
Don’t miss eating at one of the many restaurants and shopping at the local stores or the Mercato Centrale, the largest market in the city. For a spot of culture, pay a visit to the Medici Chapel, the resting place of many aristocrats, or the Basilica, one of the largest churches in Florence. You’ll be saying a big “bravo” at the end of the day!
Had to wait 20 minutes on the street with our luggage on arrival. Internet did not work. Apartment was dusty. Apartment was no where near as nice as the pictures indicate.
I'll start by saying that the photos of this apartment look considerably better than the apartment does in person. These must have been taken immediately after a remodel and fresh paint and also with additional lighting. It is in fact darker than pictured and tired. In addition we found the apartment manager to be not so friendly or accommodating.
I communicated by email weeks and then days in advance of our arrival to zero in on our ETA since we were driving into Firenze from Lake Como. I phoned about four hours prior to our arrival to give a 30 minute window. I then phoned when I was 10km out. Even after all this communication we were still kept waiting 20 minutes on the street with our luggage awaiting to be let into the building. The final straw was the lack of internet. We could connect to the router, but there was no connection out to the internet. The manager sent someone to repair it, but we only received a note on the table saying what we already knew "Internet not working. Use wifi from Hotel Spagna across the street." Unfortunately, this solution didn't work for us either. My international phone charges and frustration level suffered for this lapse.
I will say that the location is pretty good. Easy walk to the attractions and restaurants. It is on a busy street though, if you open the windows you can't carry on a conversation in that living/dining room. This was our first disappointing booking through VRBO out of many (perhaps a dozen) separate bookings. I'd say we would likely have overlooked the condition of the apartment if the internet had been working and we'd had a more gracious and efficient greeting upon arrival.
The apartment was nice and big but had a 5 stair hike up to it. It was very old but had been updated. Great location to everything. The bedrooms were very dark inside which was nice when you wanted to sleep in. Quiet from the noise outside.
Location was good, beds were comfortable and amenities were ok. It was older than expected and set up for more of a college apartment living. Although it was really nice. There are 4 flight of stairs to climb before reaching apartment which is very common in Italy but we had no problem. If you have older adults, I'd suggest something else. A few negatives-No hand soap provided, limited towels, and broken window. Smell in master bathroom from deodorant toilet was not good. It was a strong flower smell which made me sick. Very old feeling and not modernized.
The hot water pump was broken and we did not have hot water for two days of our trip.
très bien situé, rue bruyante mais chambres sur cour; insonorisation entre appartements assez légère, tout dépend des voisins.sinon, appartement confortable.
