Chill out in this stunning modern apartment that is full of life and light and located in the Kreuzberg area of the lively city of Berlin. This is an ideal spot to stay for up to 4 guests and makes a great base to return home to, put up your feet and discuss the day´s adventures! Perfect for both business and leisure!
The north of Kreuzberg is the most central part of Berlin’s most alternative district, famous for its art scene and large Turkish population. Kreuzberg has a fiery independent spirit that makes it a magnet for creative artists and visitors alike.
Go to Orianienstraße or Bergmannstraße and see for yourself. An artistic spirit permeates the café and bar scene around here. In between you’ll discover plenty of bookshops and record stores, as well as the banks of the Spree. A cultural district bordering Mitte, you’ll find the Martin-Gropius-Bau exhibition hall, the Jewish Museum and Checkpoint Charlie nearby.
The house is good and have lift and balcony Wifi doesn't work, a bed is broken and the bathroom sink loses. I tell the homeowner all the time, and she came late every time
It's close to U and S bahn. Unfortunately the U6 to the inner city and the airport Tegel was to Meringplatz closed for renovation. We arrived at 16.00 at the apartment, and it wasn't cleaned, so we had to wait. I informed Way to stay when we expected to be at Tegel (and we were on time) and texted the greater from Tegel airport. So there was ample time to clean before we got there.
One of the beds was constructed so poorly that it crashed in the middle of the night. It had been “repaired” using some cardboard so it wasn’t the first time this happened.
The complete state of the apartment showed it seen better days. The kitchen only had hot water, the water cooker only worked with cold water. The taps likely to break in the near future.
The internet in the apartment was a mobile stick (Max 7,2 mbs), and wouldn't work without PIN codes, which were nowhere to be found. We called the greater about this but there was no one to take our call and we couldn't leave a message.
The neighbourhood was being renovated, and work started on the square as early as 6.30 on some days. (So we had some early starts)
Overall impression of the neighbourhood was poor, and we didn’t spend much time there.
Our advice: look for another apartment.
The apartment is ideally located in Kreuzberg and is very quiet. And a nice small terrasse ! Lovely. The internet system is a wireless one, but blocked. You need to plug a key in your computer. So not usable if you only have a smart phone without the WLAN code. And the owner did not seem to have the code.
The apartment was in a very clean state and was perfect for our short stay We were a bit disappointed with the area but it was ok for our needs, and we would use it again
Arriving at Mehringplatz by taxi from the airport the area seemed run down and I was disappointed, the entrance and lift to the apartment again did little to inspire. The apartment itself was a pleasant surprise, very clean and comfortable. On going out, the area was very handy for train, shops and restaurants though we had difficulty finding a restaurant that sold typical German food, every other nationality was represented if you walked through to Mehringdamm. There is a food market on Thursday and general market on Saturday just near the apartment and entrance to Hallesches Tor train station on Friedrichstrasse. The brochures at the apartment were handy. We enjoyed the bike hire, the tv tower, the Pergammon museum, the boat trip, the gardens of the world, though this last one was further out and harder to find than the map portrayed. My husband was disappointed that we were not able to access wifi though it was advertised as available and had taken the laptop specifically.
Wonderful apartment in a great location, halfway between Checkpoint Charlie and the restaurants and nightlife of Kreutzberg. It was clean and well-furnished, with a big, well-appointed kitchen. My only complaint has to do with the check-in procedure. I was told to call on arrival in Berlin, did so, and got an away message. Went to the apartment, called again, same message. Only when I called the "emergency" number did someone come to greet us (and then right away; she was in the building).
