Set in the rolling fields, Hillside Cottage is a smashing holiday let set within the South Downs National Park. Not far from the A29 you are in the perfect spot to get to Arundel and Chichester easily yet right in the middle of open fields and rolling hills in sight. Sat at the outdoor table and chairs it is a fantastic spot to drink a glass of wine and appreciate the stunning rural location you are staying in.
Perfect for all the family this country cottage provides everything for a comfortable stay whether it is for three nights or three weeks. There are two living areas, one equipped with a solid fuel stove, patio doors to the west, full height room with oak roof trusses and skylights to get sunshine all day smart television (2016) and DVD player. Free unlimited Wifi will also be available at the cottage. The second is a cosy snug with sofa bed should you need it as well as laptop friendly work space and further second television.
The good sized kitchen / dining area is filled with everything you will need to self-cater for your stay. The kitchen is equipped with an oven including hob, fridge/freezer, washing machine, toaster, iron, microwave and kettle. There is a second dining table seats 6+ if required, there is a matching set of 6 dining chairs in property.
There are two bedrooms. There is one double bedroom newly refurbished with a large bed. Further along is a comfortable twin bedroom and a sofa bed can be available in the second living room upon request. All linen and towels will be included and a hair dryer will be on site.
Hilliside Cottage has ample shelter for bikes, walking boots at front of cottage, porch for drying off wet clothes! BBQ and garden furniture and picnic crockery for beach or downs walks. The cottage is 5 minutes walk from wonderful village pub (Squire and Horses) with superb food, and Bury village is on the River Arun with walks alongside. Nearest beach 6.4 miles (16 mins) Pagham Beach. Nearest footpath back of next field, no need to walk on road. South Downs Way - you see it from the cottage!
At the opposite end of the cottage there is a small shower room with wash basin and toilet.

Nestled under grand Bury Hill you find yourself in the quaint village of Bury located next to the river Arun. Bury is a quintessential British countryside village best known for its association with John Galsworthy the Nobel prize winning author of the Forsyte Saga.
Not much further along is the beautiful Sussex village Amberley, some might say one of the most attractive Downland Villages. Amberley Working Museum and Heritage Centre is well worth a visit set in the grounds of a 36 acre former chalk pit. For keen ramblers the South Downs offer plenty of famous walks and trails including The South Down and Monarch's way.
A little further south within ten minutes you will arrive in the historic town of Arundel. Filled with independent stores, restaurants, antiques shops and markets this old town really does shine out in the local area. The cobbled streets of Arundel are riddled with history not to mention the enormous Castle watching over the town and grand gothic cathedral at the top of the hill running through the high street.
If you like what you see in Arundel you will definitely want to visit The Cathedral City of Chichester. Chichester offers a vast array of high street shops and restaurants, live theatre and two cinemas. Chichester train station is also a main link that runs regularly in all directions to London Victoria , Brighton and Portsmouth where you can explore the famous Spinnaker tower, old 'Spice Island' dockyards and from there you can even make your way to the Isle of White with a ticket to Ryde, by ferry, catamaran or hovercraft!
Goodwood is also just to the south and is the venue for two of the most famous sporting events in the U.K. - the Goodwood Revival and the Goodwood Festival of Speed, attracting visitors from all over the world.
