About the property

Two separate levels with 3 bedrooms in each plus family rooms, sleeps 8 each!

Our unique and high end early 1900's 'arts & crafts' style classic architecture home is located two houses down from the Crowne Plaza Hotel and walking distance to Main Street in Lake Placid for great shopping and dining on the shores of pristine Mirror Lake. We are also within walking distance of the start and finish of Ironman. Our home was completely renovated and with great care given to every detail and in keeping with the original theme and style. From the well thought out Adirondack décor, to the radian heat, vaulted ceilings, detailed painting and private bathrooms.

It has two completely separate levels that can be rented individually or together. The downstairs or lower level has three bedrooms with queen beds and full private bathrooms plus a closed family room with a sleeper sofa, desk and TV and a half bathroom close by. There is lots of closet space plus a TV in every bedroom and a large entertainment system in the living room plus a washer and dryer. There are large windows throughout and each room is uniquely painted with some having radian heat. The kitchen is high end and open with everything you will need for that family and friends get together. Our dining area seats eight plus we have a private outside deck to enjoy with a table, chairs and large gas grill.

The upstairs or upper level also has three bedrooms and two full bathrooms plus an open living room area with a sleeper sofa. The kitchen is high end with a Viking range and everything needed for your meals and our dining table seats eight. The living room has a large entertainment system, plenty of seating and vaulted ceilings. The master bedroom has a king bed with a full private bathroom while the other 2 bedrooms have queen beds with a shared full bathroom. There is also a private deck with a table, chairs and large gas grill to enjoy.

Each level is its own separate floor, has a private entrance and is 1000 square feet. The house can also accommodate up to eight cars for great off street parking.

For all of you Ironmen and Ironwomen, there are many great rides and runs right out the front door and with Mirror Lake, the beach and tennis courts about a five minute walk over.

We accept pets but we will require an additional security deposit.

My name is Jack Irvin and I was born and raised here in Lake Placid. I own my own construction company. I have done a lot of outdoor activities around here including a tin man, ski racing, cross country skiing and can suggest a lot of great skis, bike rides and hikes to you - just ask me!

Its proximity to town and my love of older classic homes like this. I preserved the 'arts & crafts' style classic architecture in every detail of it and hope you like it as much as I do!

I tried to think of everything that you would need during your stay, from large TV's in every room, to well thought out lighting, fully stocked kitchens and private parking.

The house is beautiful, clean and fully equipped

We stayed here for Iron Man Lake Placid week. The house was very clean and spacious. It was well-equipped and had anything that we needed to prepare meals etc. The owner Jack even stopped in to see if we needed anything. There were no glitches and overall we really enjoyed staying in this house and had a very memorable vacation. We would highly recommend this place to others and would consider staying here again in the future.

Convenient, comfortable in town

Perfect landing pad for a large group. Comfortable bed, spacious kitchen and living area. Only downside was the living couch was a futon that was not super comfortable to hang out on. But otherwise all communication was timely and straightforward. I would definitely stay here again if in Lake Placid for several days.

Great house in a great location

The house is very spacious and clean. We rented the bottom half. Convenient location to town and right next door to the Crowne Plaza where you can pick up the free shuttle to Whiteface.

I do think a few more chairs in the living room would be nice. loved the huge kitchen and table. We would definitely rent this house again.

As advertised. Clean, comfortable, close to town and good value for money.

We are a family of six with a dog and we stayed in the upstairs apt for three nights in late August.

There are about 20 stairs to reach the unit, so this might be a consideration for those with young children or if your mobility isn't great. The mattresses, furniture and kitchen are good-to-high quality (which is not the norm in my experience with rentals).

The apartment gets good light and is spacious, open, well-equipped and we found everything we used in good working order. The owners/managers seem to put thought into providing little things such as board games, puzzles, etc.

We did not use the porch, but it is suitable for bbq'ing and eating outside.

The property is walking distance to Main Street (note for the faint of heart it is up/down a pretty big hill though) and there is also a park with swings, etc. down the street.

There really is no yard to speak of, but plenty of parking and it is in a quiet neighborhood. There were people occupying the other unit, but you wouldn't know they were there with separate entrance and absolutely no ambient noise between the apartments. I would recommend this property without reservations. The property manager was responsive (we reserved the day before) and helpful (two calls to make sure we had everything we needed) prior to our arrival and the security deposits were refunded immediately.

An Excellent Long Weekend!

We just returned from our long weekend break and we are already missing Lake Placid! The accommodations were awesome: very clean and in close proximity to all that the town offers. The house is warm and nicely decorated with plenty of natural light. The beds are comfortable and cozy. There are two "common areas" in the unit which was great because we had 2 adults, 3 kids and a dog on the trip. We spent two days skiing at Whiteface (about a 15 minute drive from the house). The house is one block from all the downtown restaurants and fun shops. It is literally just a 5 minute WALK down the street to all the action. We also were able to rent ice skates in town and skate on the frozen Mirror Lake. We will definitely come back again...the house is a gem and it is perfectly located!
