Scott & Ann Kaufman
About Scott & Ann Kaufman
Scott & Ann reside in Ozark, Missouri, and have a penchant for restoring old homes. They currently own two historic homes in Ozark, including: (1) Mary's Place, named after Scott's sweet grandmother Mary, who lived in the home as Scott was growing up, and gave him so many wonderful memories there, and (2) the iconic Weaver House, which is the oldest standing structure in Ozark, and has ties to the historic Ozark Mill, the Civil War Battle of Ozark, the notorious post-Civil War vigilante group known as the Bald Knobbers, and much more. A native of Ozark, Scott's family roots run deep here. In fact, according to U.S. Government geological survey records from 1835, his great, great, great, great grandfather -- Benjamin Chapman -- was the first documented white settler in the immediate vicinity of what would later become "Ozark"! (At the time of the 1835 survey, Chapman was cultivating a large Finley River bottom field and lived in a cabin with his family near the current site of the Chapman Cemetery in Ozark.) After graduating from Ozark High School in 1980, Scott earned degrees from both the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville (Nursing), and the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock (Pharmacy). Today, he's glad to be living "back home" in his hometown of Ozark, Missouri. Ann is a native of beautiful Mountain Home, Arkansas, and has more than forty years experience in the hair-styling and salon industry. A woman of many talents, she is an excellent cook, and also has a special gift for interior design and decor, which have been put to good use in their vacation rentals. Together, Scott & Ann hope to share both the ambiance and the history of these lovely properties to afford their vacation rental guests every possible opportunity to create wonderfully memorable experiences that will bring them back time and time again!
Scott & Ann Kaufman purchased this House in 2016
Why Scott & Ann Kaufman chose Ozark
MARY'S PLACE has been in Scott's family for generations. His great grandparents -- Major & Macie Haguewood -- lived here with their daughter Mary (Scott's grandma) for many years. While growing up, Scott spent much time in this home with his great-grandparents and his grandma, Mary. Having grown up in Ozark, Scott (current owner) had been away for over thirty years when he and his wife Ann were driving around Ozark "just for the memories". As they passed Church Street, Scott said, "Hey, let's swing by 'MeeMa's' house!" (his grandma Mary's old house). As they rounded the corner of Church and 8th Street, there it was... Mary's house.... with a "FOR SALE" sign in the yard!! Well, they stopped and bought it on the spot!! Scott has many special memories of this home, where he stayed with his "MeeMa" often. She was a very special lady who loved her grandsons, and she and Scott spent many evenings out on the spacious front porch talking about life, and listening to the birds chirp as the katydids sang their evening songs at sunset. Scott has never forgotten his grandma Mary, and finally decided to open it up as a vacation rental for others to enjoy, aptly naming it "Mary's Place". We love this home... it's peace, tranquility, and the many special memories it holds. We hope that others will also be able to create many special memories in this place... MARY'S PLACE!!!

Nice place to stay for Two Rivers Greenhouse wedding
The property was lovely and very nicely decorated. Scott and Ann were accommodating and responded to questions quickly.
Great place, Great communication
Cut little house in a great little area of town. We really enjoyed staying here!
Charm and Character
This home is full of charm and character. It was very clean. The beds are comfortable. It is just blocks from downtown Ozark where our family was celebrating our son’s wedding at Venue on Brick. Highly recommend!
Truly amazing place!
Not sure what to start with....the owners were easy to communicate with and very quick to respond to any question I had. The house is so much better than even the pictures show. All of the little details in the house and just perfect! The pastries, snacks, drinks, coffee pods, etc were a bonus. The neighborhood is really quiet and safe. We enjoyed going to Branson for activities, and to Springfield, and also shopped a little in Ozark. This place was a great location for doing everything.

Mary’s Place was awesome! We couldn’t help but make ourselves at home😊 We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! If ever in the area again, Mary’s Place will be our first choice to stay!
Beautiful house and amazing owners!
We had a wonderful time at Mary’s Place. The house was very clean, well taken care of and the owners had everything we could ever need. They even had snacks, drinks and fresh breakfast pastries waiting our arrival.
We will definitely be reaching out if we are in town again!
Thank you for a lovely visit😊
