About the property

House by the Atlantic Ocean, 4 bedrooms, sleeps 10. Private pool, AC & wifi

This contemporary house, with an amazing location (less than 50 meters from the sea side and the surf), offers the possibility of a dream vacation, in a very special and authentic area of the Algarve – the “Barlavento algarvio” (or windy Algarve). The sea view is simply breathtaking… The access to the house is either through a gate on the sea side (which also allows the parking of a medium sized car), or through a gate in the rear. There is no main street close by, which means total silence (apart from the sound of the waves and the seagulls), and the absence of the customary summer roudy crowds: you will enjoy a private appointment with the waves and the stars!

On 3 floors: the house has 3 suites on the upper floor, two of which are equipped with double beds and the other with 2 single beds. The two frontal suites share the upper balcony and the same spectacular sea view right in front. All 3 suites have private toilets equipped with Spa baths.

On the ground floor a large living/dining area allows the enjoyment of the same sea view and the possibility of having the meals either in the dining room or on the large terrace (fully furnished with dining table, chairs and sofas), in an atmosphere of peace, tranquility and natural beauty. On the same floor, we have a fourth bedroom, equipped with a double bed, very close to a separate toilet with a shower.

A large and modern kitchen, fully equipped, has direct access to the rear of the house.

The living area has cable TV (115 channels, some of which in several European languages) and a DVD player. WIFI is available in all the house. Telephone is not available.

As if all this is not enough, the house has an additional large lower floor which gives you a direct access to the private swimming pool and the private garden with beach/garden furniture. On this floor, you will find another equipped kitchen, another toilet (with shower) and a small gym with an elliptical trainer, abs platform and some weights (should you wish to remain fit during the vacations).

There is also a very comfortable sofa bed that accommodates 2 more guests and TV with cable channels (the same system as the one in the living room upstairs).

The center of the small village of Luz and its famous beach are just a short walking distance away. There you will find all the shops, restaurants, and bars you will need. You do not need a car in Luz, unless you wish to visit the beautiful city of Lagos or the surrounding areas, such as the Sagres Cape and its fortress, the pleasant beaches of the west of the Algarve or the Costa Alentejana. Burgau, a small fishermen village, where you can eat great sea food, is located just 5 Kms west of Luz, and you reach it hiking alongside the ocean and the cliffs. All in all: a unique opportunity to enjoy your vacation in the Algarve.

The WOW factor!!

My family and I stayed at the beautiful villa 7 Fontainhas in July 2015. I have to say it was our best holiday ever. Our party consisted of my adult son and his girlfriend, my teenage daughter, my husband and myself. Our first impressions upon unlocking the front door and seeing the fabulous view from the living room area was "Wow"! The villa certainly has the wow factor. No attention to detail is spared either starting from the extensive information folder on the coffee table to every utensil you would possibly need in the kitchen. Not that we bothered cooking much as there are plenty of great restaurants in the area - as helpfully suggested in the information folder. The house is huge and has plenty of room if you sometimes want to find a quiet corner for yourself. It's a mere few minutes stroll to the centre of Praia da Luz and it's great beach. We also discovered a small but lovely beach just a short walk up the road. My husband and I did the five kilometre cliff walk that runs from in front of the house to the next sea fishing village, Burgau. It also has a lovely beach and nice places to dine. Steep streets too! The cliff walk itself is scenic but a bit scary in the odd place if, like me, you haven't a great head for heights! Well worth it though. It's also definitely worth a trip to the nearby town of Lagos which is steeped in history. It has great character and is also a great place to shop and dine. We went there by bus which is very inexpensive as we hadn't got ton around to hiring a car but you don't actually need a car in Luz unless you plan to travel further afield. Evertthing you need is accessible by foot. All in all, 7 Fontainhas was a magical holiday and we can't wait to come back!
