Part of a small gated community of 4 linked villas, Villa A is the end one, featuring the largest private garden and its own pool, that can be heated upon request.

On 2 floors, both bedrooms and bathrooms are downstairs and leading onto the pool area.

Bedroom 1 is a very spacious double bedroom with en suite shower room featuring a large walk-in shower.

Bedroom 2 has two single beds and access to a full bathroom. Both bedrooms have their own fitted wardrobes and AC.

Going up a flight of steps is the first floor comprising a very comfortable family room with dining area and open plan kitchen. Seating area with TV, DVD player and Ipod docking station as well as WiFi internet. Small balcony - South facing, overlooking the pool area and the mature landscaped garden.

Large Terrace on the West side of the villa enjoys lovely country views and a glimpse of the sea. Ideal for outside dining.

Kitchen is fully equipped with washing machine, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, gas cooker and electric oven, toaster, kettle, electric grill and other bits and pieces. A BBQ and a large dining table and chair by the pool terrace invites you to a lovely outdoor meal, while enjoying the sun and a dip in the warm pool. Several sun beds also available. Private parking space for 2 cars.

Perfect!

We had an amazing time, the villa was even better than it looked in the photos. The pool was brilliant and everything we needed was provided. We loved having our dinner on the terrace as the sun went down while the balcony was great for having some shade. The children loved the table tennis and all the sand toys that were available to borrow...we also appreciated the beach umbrella! The welcome pack of food was amazing...well worth the extra. I was a bit worried about the review of the dogs since I am an extremely light sleeper but I hardly heard them and didn't use the ear plugs I had taken just in case. The bins didn't bother me in the least. The location was perfect for us since it was so peaceful and we had a car so that we could explore. We felt so secure with the electronic gates.

We loved all the beaches we found on our travels but Burgau was our favourite...5 minutes from the villa. We will definitely be booking the villa again!! Perfect.

Amazing Villa

We had a great week at the villa . The pool was amazing, the outside space huge, the inside space & furniture lovely & very good quality. It had everything that you needed on holiday.Two bathrooms & two bedrooms on the ground floor & the living area & kitchen on the 1st floor. The top terraces were also amazing, lots of space & furniture for lounging on.

Only a couple of down sides, if you are a light sleeper , like me, not that it's anything to do with the villa owners, but there are four dogs across the road that bark at a drop of a hat & the local recycling bottle bank is at the front of the villa, which was a little annoying hearing bottles constantly breaking up.

Don't let this put you off, it's a lovely villa. Very close to Luz with a lovely walk along the sea front to get there & back. Bus stops very close to the villa to get the bus into Lagos.

Would definitely stay again.

We had a lovely time at the villa, it's outside the main town of Luz, in a quite location. The villa has everything you need for a relaxing holiday. We would return to this villa again in the future.

Sehr schönes Haus in praktisch schöner Lage!

Wir fanden ein wirklich schönes, gut ausgestattenes Ferienhaus mit tollem Außenbereich vor. Die vorherigen Instruktionen der Vermieterin waren prima und wir fanden problemlos zu und in unser Ferienhaus. Praktisch, dass man direkt im Hof vor der Haustür parken kann.

Das Haus ist ausreichend geräumig. Große, helle Schlafzimmer, die sich im EG befinden mit jeweils einem Bad direkt neben an und beide Zugang zum Poolbereich. Das Bad mit Tageslicht und großer Dusche ist prima.

Im ersten Geschoss dann das Wohnzimmer mit Küche und Zugang zu einem Balkon und einer großen Terrasse.

Das Essen kann man also wahlweise auf Balkon, Terrasse oben, Terrasse unten (direkt am Pool mit Grill!) oder innen einnehmen. Je nach Wind haben wir alle Sitzgruppen genutzt. :)

Die Küche ist ausreichend ausgestattet. Hier könnten lediglich ein paar Dinge mit der Zeit einfach mal ausgetauscht und ausgemistet werden (neue Pfanne z. B., vielleicht eine Kaffeemaschine (es steht aktuell Bodum Kaffeebereiter zur Verfügung) und diverse Utensilien sind einfach alt und manches was die Urlauber so in Schubladen etc hinterlassen haben, könnte mal entrümpelt werden. ;))

Waschmaschine, Spülmaschine, Klima (haben wir nicht gebraucht), TV, DVD-Player, elektrische Rollläden -war alles vorhanden.

Besonders schön ist der Pool und Gartenbereich rundherum. Alles sehr gepflegt und sauber. Öfter war ein Gärtnerteam da und hat sich um den Minirasen und die Pflanzen gekümmert.

Man hat lediglich links neben sich das andere Ferienhaus, die anderen Seiten rundherum sind blickdicht bewachsen. Auf der gegenüberliegenden Seite des Hauses ist ein wild bewachsenes unbebautes Grundstück, rechts daneben die Straße, auf der aber selten ein Auto vorbei kommt und man auch nicht gestört wird.

Die Lage ist insgesamt gut: Am äußeren Rand von Luz gelegen (wir sind nur mit dem Auto unterwegs gewesen) und man ist schnell in Lagos und auch an der Westküste. Das Haus liegt direkt an der Straße, die aber gar nicht stört. Vom ersten Stock aus kann man von der Terrasse auch ein wenig das Meer sehen. :)

Einmal während unseres Aufetnhalts kam der Putzservice, der alle Böden und Armaturen putzte, die Betten frisch bezog und frische Handtücher brachte - super!

Wir hatten unseren Pool beheizen lassen. Den Preis dafür (150 EUR/Woche) finden wir nach wie vor wahnsinnig teuer..aber bereut haben wir es dennoch nicht, denn so konnten wir (vorallem unser 3jähriges Kind) immer direkt reinspringen und Stunden ausharren.:)

Das Erste aber ganz bestimmt nicht das letzte Mal

Lage

Das Haus ist zwischen Luz und Burgau an der Hauptstraße gelegen. Es liegt ein wenig von der Straße zurück und ist mit allen Räumen Richtung Küste ausgerichtet, so dass Verkehr kein Thema ist. Es ist das schönste von den 4 Reihenhäusern. Das Grundstück ist komplett eingezäunt, und hat Stellplätze für 2 Autos im Hof. So konnten unsere Kinder (3) und (6) sich eigenständig bewegen. Die Lage lädt dazu ein sowohl die Touristen Strände, als auch die Wilden Strände an der Westküste zu besuchen.

Ausstattung

Das Haus ist einfach toll! Der Pool ist sehr schön angelegt. Es gibt ausreichend Liegen und auch schöne Pooltücher die wöchentlich, wie alle anderen Handtücher und Bettwäsche, gewechselt werden. Wir haben zwischenzeitlich zwar nochmal eine Waschmaschine angeworfen, das war aber sicherlich den Kindern geschuldet.

Auch sonst fehlt es am Haus an nichts. So kann man sich kaum entscheiden an welchem der schönen Essplätze man seine Mahlzeiten einnimmt Geschirr war ausreichend für mehrere Mahlzeiten da. Sogar für den Ausflug zum Strand waren Tupperdosen vorhanden um ein Picknick mitzunehmen. Wir haben abwechselnd gegrillt und waren auswärts Essen. Die Besitzer haben eine nette Fibel mit Empfehlungen und Hinweisen zusammengestellt, denen wir blind gefolgt sind. Das Haus hat zwar eine Klimaanlage wir haben diese im Juni allerdings gar nicht genutzt. Das Haus bietet so viele Möglichkeiten zum Lüften und durch die Rolladen auch die Möglichkeit in der Nacht die Fenster geöffnet zu halten.

Vermieter:

Das Meet and Greet mit der Immobilienverwaltung war sehr freundlich. Wir hatten ein Starterpaket mitgebucht weil wir nachts angereist sind und somit war das erste Frühstück gerettet. Preis Leistung waren ok.

Das Babypaket umfasste einen Hochstuhl und ein Reisebett. Das Reisebett wurde von uns doch nicht genutzt, da man die Betten an die Wand schieben konnte und auf der anderen Seite der Bruder der Rausfallschutz war. Schön wäre noch ein Windeleimer gewesen und ein kleiner Hocker für das Badezimmer.

Wir hatten zwei kleine Probleme die am selben bzw. am nächsten Tag gelöst wurden. (Das Internetfernsehen hatte keine deutschen Programme und die Duschkopfhalterung war defekt) Das einzige was man noch mal überarbeiten könnte wäre die Anfahrtsbeschreibung zum Haus. Sie ist auf Grund zu vieler Details ein wenig unübersichtlich.

Fazit

Wir wissen noch nicht wann, aber wir kommen bestimmt wieder und auch gerne in dieses schöne Haus.

The Algarve region

Lagos is the Southwest capital of the Algarve and many find it the most likeable town of this region. Its lively but a bit laid and easy going. The history of Lagos has always been connected with the sea and the marine activities. It was here that Prince Henry armed the caravels that opened the way for the great voyages in the time of the Discoveries.

Lagos was founded by the Phoenicians and the Carthaginians from 1364 to 350 B.C. The Romans occupied the area in the first two centuries A.D. and the Moors took the town in the eighth century and remained there until 1249. The castle was founded during this time.

Lagos is a working Portuguese town and Portuguese culture and way of life is evident everywhere. There are several churches worth visiting and there are often art exhibitions and other cultural events taking place in the cultural centre and the old Slave Market. Open air concerts are often staged in Praca Gil Eanes on local public holidays, festival or Summer nights.

There is a staggering choice of places to eat and drink offering a wide range of cuisines - a gentle stroll through the town will acquaint you with the variety of restaurants on offer. In the square you will find cafes and ice cream shops with both inside and outside tables and there are all sorts of shops to find in the old town.

Many sea sport activities are available including windsurfing, sailing, boat trips, deep sea diving, fishing and those unforgettable boat trips around the caves. And we highlight the lovely Marina and its shops, bars and restaurants.

For those who look forward to a game of golf, Boavista Golf Resort and Palmares Golf Course are both local to the town, the latter being a links course. Parque da Floresta Golf and Leisure Resorts is around 19km drive to West and the Penina Golf Course is to the East before Alvor.

Along the quay side there are a variety of shops, bars and restaurants and its a good place to stop and relax and just watch the world go by. There is a friendly ambiance around the place and the whole area is attractively laid out.

Praia da Luz

Praia da Luz - Traveling West along the coast from Lagos, the first place you come to is Praia da Luz, which literally translated means 'Beach of Light', a name given to it in Moorish times when beacons were lit to warn fishermen of the approaching dangers from the Moors. Now more of a town, Praia da Luz began life as a small fishing village which has turned into a popular holiday destination with a wide selection of restaurants, bars and shops.

This seaside town is perfect for those who want a more peaceful beach holiday without all the hussle and bustle of the bigger, more popular resorts in the East side of the Algarve.

Luz has much to offer: a lovely sheltered sandy beach ideal for sunbathing, relaxing with a book or for children to do all those things they love to do with the sand! The rocks and rock pools also provide endless fun opportunities.

It has an attractive promenade for strolling along or relaxing on one of the many seats.

There are some Roman ruins to see just a few steps up from the seafront and several beachfront bars and restaurants to choose from - water sports activities are available on the beach and the black rock cliff at the other end which together with the cliff-top path West to Burgau provide ample opportunities for some gentle or more energetic walking.

How to get there:

The best and easier way to get to Luz from Faro airport is to drive through the A22 motorway (paid tools) known as Via do Infante.

The alternative is to use the N125 but on the peak season it will be very busy.
