My husband and I spent a few days in this beautiful Florence apartment. The property was very clean and decorated nicely. The bed was comfortable and the owner was very helpful. It is in a perfect location, but there is quite an uphill walk to get to the apartment from town. It didn't bother us, but may be a little difficult for someone who is elderly or infirm.
Stefania's apartment was beautifully decorated, had everything we needed for our four days in Florence. The location couldn't have been better - a stone's throw from the Ponte Vecchio, yet it was quiet at night. Her lovely assistant was there to meet us and gave us recommendations for everything from grocery shopping to restaurants. It was ideal and I would totally return to stay here! Plus, the price was extremely reasonable.
Great location - so very close to the center of Florence and everything. You need to be able bodied as the climb to the apartment cannot be avoided. For us it was great excercise as we loved walking the city. We drove into the center of Florence with our rental car and unless you have a GPS with a good satellite connection, don't bother - there are so many one way streets and road construction (let alone avoiding crazy drivers who have no patience) it's very hard to navigate to the property and difficult to park (best use a taxi!!!!!!!). Thanks for a great stay and many wonderful memories.
A very nice little apartment in a great location. This place was clean, comfortable and well appointed close to the Ponte Vechio and the heart of Florence. Easy walk to all the major attractions here as well as many restaurants, tours and shops. Our only minor nit was that the hallway from the street to the apt. was dark. There's a hall light that you can turn on but it doesn't stay on long enough before shutting itself off. Just have your phone's flashlight handy at night. Overall, very much a keeper that we would happily stay at again.
The apartment is everything you could ask for. It is beautifully done up and perfect to come back to after a day's sight seeing. The decor is fabulous and everything you need is provided. It is within an easy walk of all the main sights and you can't beat walking over the ponte vecchio every day. It is up quite a steep hill but it's worth it for the views that you get. The hosts are perfect and very welcoming and the apartment is just like it is in the pictures. My only complaint was we weren't there long enough! I would highly recommend staying there!
The district is famous for its shops and its workshops of Florentine artisans (goldsmiths, leather goods, antiques, etc ...), filled with cafes, wine bars and typical restaurants where you can taste wines and foods typical of Tuscan cuisine.
Nearby you will find a supermarket anche for your every possible need. Places not to be missed: Bardini Garden just 1min walk with wonderful views of the city, a few meters ahead Forte Belvedere, 3 min, the ancient Ponte Vecchio with its goldsmith shops. It is possible to visit my husband's generations old artisan laboratory: Massai Orafi.
A short walk will take to the Palazzo Pitti, with access to the beautiful Boboli Gardens, the famous Uffizi Gallery in cui, you could have access to the Vasarian Corridor, an elevated walkway on the Ponte Vecchio, full of works of art and Which offers to unique view.
At 10 min, the Cathedral and the Basilica of Santa Croce.
The Piazzale Michelangelo with its breathtaking view of Florence, is Reached by a pleasant walk, or the city or tourist bus.
