This exquisitely well appointed villa with private pool is set entirely in its own grounds in a tranquil residential area on the outskirts of Moraira. Facing south the villa, the lovely naya and inviting 9m X 5m pool enjoy all day sun and magnificent sunsets beyond the distant mountains. The swimming pool can also be heated, if required, to allow use all the year round. The villa has been refurbished to a high standard and has full air conditioning and central heating to ensure maximum comfort at all times of the year. All accommodation is situated on one floor with a spacious lounge and dining area, a well equipped kitchen, three bedrooms and two bathrooms. All the bedrooms have fitted wardrobes. The terracing around the pool area and naya is complemented by a roof terrace. Under the villa there is an utility room with washing machine. The television has a full complement of UK terrestrial and SKY channels. There is wi-fi internet access in the villa.

Moraira: Moraira is part of the municipality of Teulada, situated about four miles inland. In earlier times the centres of population were situated away from the coasts to offer some protection from marauding pirates and invaders - Romans, Moors, Berbers, etc.. Moraira developed as the fishing port for Teulada, and both the lookout tower (Torre-vigia) on Cap d'Or overlooking Moraira's El Portet beach, and the Castle are reminders of the past.

Moraira has four beaches, each very different in character from the others. The beach of El Portet is the northernmost of these, being situated at the end of a sheltered shell-shaped bay, quiet with clear water and a gently sloping seabed, being ideal and safe for swimming. The town beach, or L'Ampolla, is a large sandy beach with a play area and restaurants. Platgetes is quieter and partly sand/partly rock; and L'Andrago is a boulder beach, ideal for snorkelling. All around Moraira there are many secluded bays and coves well worth exploring.

Fiesta & Leisure Activities: This region of Spain is famous for its colourful festivals or fiestas. These take place throughout the year, but probably the most well known is the Moros Y Chistianos held in July, celebrating the reconquest by the Christians of Moslem-ruled Spain.

Water sports that can be enjoyed include swimming, snorkelling, scuba-diving, jet skiing, windsurfing, and for the less energetic, sunbathing. The three main beaches are all European blue flagged, and zoned and lifeguarded so that various activities can be enjoyed safely. Other sports include walking, climbing, cycling and horse-riding.

Moraira also has a popular marina, which is home or host to a myriad of yachts of all shapes and sizes.

Golfing Information: Within 15 minutes drive of the villa is Javea Golf Club situated between Moraira and Javea and is open all year round. The course is a 9 hole, par 72 and 3,035 metres and is easy to play and relatively flat. The Olazabal designed La Sella Golf Course is 20 minutes drive inland near the village of Jesus Pobre. The course has 18 holes, par 72 and is 6,029 metres. The course although flat has many trees and water obstacles and presents a very good challenge. Within 40 minutes drive north in Oliva is Oliva Nova Golf Club, designed by Seve Ballesteros. This testing course has 18 holes, is par 72 and 7,051 metres. Going south overlooking Benidorm you have the two new Real de Faula championship courses which are very highly recommended - one par 72 championship and one par 62 eighteen hole tester! Villa in Moraira with Pool

The Villa was clean and tidy and the heated pool was nice.

Although in an Urbanisation a little out of the way for shops and restaurants. A car is essential.

We were disappointed that the Sky TV had no signal on any of its channels, possibly due to an inadequate receiver dish on the roof, and the picture for the digital box constantly froze or broke up.

We were concerned at the number of rats that climbed up the pine trees close to the building and came onto the balcony and window sills in the mornings and evenings. When we first reported this we were told that these were 'tree rats' that lived on pine nuts.

Owner's Response: We emphasise on the advert that a car is necessary when staying in the villa. If the problem with the Sky TV had been brought to the attention of our local managers, then the problem would have been rectified ASAP. There are several pine trees in the garden of the villa and, as is common throughout the whole of Spain (being a very dry country and with many pine trees), tree rats do occasionally appear and so we advise clients not to leave their patio windows open overnight. The client's report was fully checked out by our local managers and there was no evidence of any infestation.

Il faut évidemment utiliser sa voiture mais ce n'est pas gênant.

Moraira is ideally situated between a coast with both sandy beaches and rocky coves, and the mountains of the Marina Alta. The climate is ideal both for holidays and all-the-year-round living. The World Health Organisation has identified the northern Costa Blanca as having as near to an ideal climate as possible. Average temperatures range from the mid-eighties (26-29C) in the high season to the low sixties (15C) in the middle of winter, and even in winter the average number of rainy days is around only five per month. In more recent times this quiet and peaceful fishing port has become a busy yet pleasant resort, which can perhaps best be summarised by what it doesn't have. There are no high-rises, no large hotels, no package tours, and no large and noisy nightclubs. It is simply a small yet busy town with many shops, restaurants and bars, surrounded by whitewashed villas nestling on the tree-covered hillsides
