There are 4 double bedrooms with a visitors pull out bed in the family room and a further twin/ double bedroom on the ground floor. The property has two bathrooms, large dining room, sitting room and kitchen. It has been sympathetically and tastefully furnished to a high standard throughout and most rooms are furnished with antiques dating from the nineteenth century, also includes double glazing and gas central heating, two wood burners and open fire place for modern day comfort. The garden is terraced with a huge patio area at the top, with wonderful sea views and a double brick built BBQ and seating for 8 people. The garden enjoys many wildlife visitors, including Red Squirrels and Hummingbird hawk-moth.

We, as a family bought Shenstone in 2009 as our retirement home, but little did we know how much we would fall in love with the house! The house has a wonderful family feel to it and never fails to make us smile as we walk through the door. With ample space for the family if it starts to rain and the garden with its local residents of red squirrels and hummingbird hawk moths, Shenstone never fails to give us pleasure. We offer off road parking for three cars which is essential as Ventnor is built on a very steep hill. Shenstone's location is a fantastic starting point to visit the island. Local shops and the beach are within walking distance and there are lots of fantastic walks starting just outside the house!

All bedrooms had a view of the sea. Beds very comfortable and house well equipped and clean.

Comfortable residence in good location.
The house was plenty big enough and nicely presented, clean and comfortable. The location was also excellent for many local attractions and good restaurants. WiFi connection was poor at the property and heating system stopped working mid week but we managed without it so didn’t call the owner to look into this, which they probably would have done if we had called them.
Generously equipped Victorian (or Edwardian) house modernized but retaining lots of features appropriate to its age.
Comfortable stay for adult male walking group
Good location and comfortable, well equipped accommodation. Beds all comfortable but twin beds narrow for adults and a bit close together and can't be moved further apart due to size of room. Owner very responsive to questions. Short walking distance to Ventnor seafront - incline all the way home but less noticeable after a couple of pints!

Really good base, everything in the cottage you could need, including the toilet rolls !
Cottag really clean, parking good although you have to reverse in, much better, all the instructions to use the appliances.

Exclusive family house in a unique position over looking Bonchurch and Ventnor with fabulous sea views and backing onto St Boniface Downs.
Only a ten minute walk to Ventnor town centre and the beach, the downs back onto the garden with private gated access. Great location for activity holidays such as cycling, walking, golf, sailing and many great island attractions.
To enjoy the location of this property you will need a car.

Special notes: The property is built on a steep hill making wheelchair access impossible. The garden is steeply terraced so it’s important that guests can manage steps. Children 5 years and over are most welcome. Under 5's at the owners discretion. No pets No Smoking
