GREAT LOCATION

  • 4 of 5

i stayed with husband and two teenage granddaughters. we loved the porch with the open view and they loved the loft and being close to many activities. i liked not being so far down the backside of the mountain, making it really easy to get to fred's, dog park, pizza and putt putt golf for the girls. very close to fast eddie's as well. dogwood lane is not a busy road which was nice. lots of steps gave us a good workout. Brad was easy to work with and easy to reach.

Well equipped & comfortable

  • 5 of 5

Clean, comfortable & functional. Loft area a bit low for adults. Worked well for attending Highland games. Quiet, lots of deer. Convenient to great breakfast at Fred's

Wonderful getaway!

  • 5 of 5

Wish we could of stayed longer! Loved seeing the family of deers every morning! First time we stayed in Beech Mountain and will definitely come back. Everything we needed right there. Not to mention the waterfalls right down the street.

Great getaway

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at this house especially since we could bring our dog. The setting is pretty and somewhat private. The house is best suited for one or two couples. The house was clean and the kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans and cooking utensils. The baseboard heaters worked well. Our only complaint was that the Internet did not work. I believe the owner had it serviced recently and the password had been changed. We communicated with the owner and he was responsive to our emails but we were never able to get the password and sign-on. Oh, And lots of steps in & out!

Owner's Response: Thank you, and my apologies for the internet. I did reach out to the tech service, but it was the weekend and they were closed. They responded Monday and confirm that they had reversed the order of the passcode, it worked but I was not able to get the code in time. Passcode has been updated in information to be sent to the owner, and internet is working fine.

Comfortable home in a good location. Lots of stairs.

  • 3 of 5

We enjoyed our stay. The home was pretty comfortable and in a good location so it served our purpose. We loved seeing a large group of deer in the woods next to us. The owner Brad was responsive to emails. The kitchen, though a bit dated, was equpped for our needs. We did have a few minor issues, such as the WiFi wasn't working, which was an important feature for us. After 2 attempts with tech support it was determined the router wasn't working, so no wifi. We felt the master bedroom temperpedic mattress wasn't to our liking. Our grandson liked the loft and enjoyed sleighriding with the provided sled in the back yard. We had a great time skiing and enjoyed coming back to the home each night to sit in front of a cozy fire in the nice fireplace. Note about nearby Fred's store, it's convenient for a few items but expensive, it's worth the drive to Food Lion near Sugar Mountain to get groceries.
