Casa Colina faces SE on a small urbanisation overlooking Moraira (7 min. drive), providing a peaceful, dramatic yet convenient location for a memorable holiday. The villa is fully furnished and equipped as a family home. A double bedroom with en suite bathroom opens on to the top terrace with panoramic views. The lounge has two sofas, widescreen TV (SKY satellite), and DVD recorder/player. The dining room opens to the terrace through sliding glass doors. The kitchen has an electric oven, ceramic hob, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave oven/grill, juice-maker, and water filter. On the floor below, two twin rooms and a basement with twin beds (plus sofa-bed) share a shower room. There is a second TV, washing-machine, and another fridge/freezer. Access to a broadband wireless network can be provided. The large communal pool (14 X 8m) is less than 100m away; it is little used by permanent residents and never crowded even at peak times. THIS IS A NON-SMOKING VILLA.

Moraira: The old fishing village of Moraira has three fine beaches very suitable for bathing, and a yachting marina. Moraira has many excellent restaurants, bars and shops, a lot of them along the sea front. Moraira market every Friday is well worth visiting for fresh fruits and vegetables, clothes, crafts and household effects.

Amenities: There is plenty to do in the area - play golf, sail, go scuba diving, sea fishing, water skiing, horse riding, go-karting, bird watching, walking, and much more. Relatively short drives (10km) up or down the coast lead to the resorts of Javea or Calpe, or Altea (20km); further south is Benidorm (30km) with excellent night life and the exciting Terra Mitica theme park very popular with children. Exploration of the mountainous area inland is also well worthwhile, for example through the Jalon valley with its beautiful vineyards and villages, along the mountains of the striking Bernia range, or to the dramatic Moorish village of Guadalest. For the energetic there are magnificent walks throughout this area.

Moraira enjoys a typical subtropical Mediterranean climate, with cool sea breezes in summer and protection by surrounding mountains against the north winds in winter. The area has an average of nearly 3,000 hours of sunshine each year and the average temperature easily exceeds 20°C. In 1986 the World Health Organization recommended the climate of the area as one of the most equitable in the world - neither too hot in the summer nor too cold in the winter. On average it can boast 325 sunny days each year making it an ideal all year round destination.

Notes:
Six adults (no more) can sleep very comfortably in the double bedroom on the first floor, and two twin rooms on the floor below that are reached down a short staircase. Another two beds occupy a large lounge/games room, and are suitable only for children (up to mid teens). There is also plenty of room for a cot that can be provided. The ensuite bathroom has a bath, double sink, shower, toilet and bidet. The lower bathroom has a large shower enclosure, sink and toilet. Occupiers of the three main bedrooms can wake up to wonderful sea views. The top terrace, not overlooked, is perfect for sunbathing, dining/drinking and admiring the views, with ships slipping past on the horizon. Clear star-lit skies provide a perfect backdrop to a candlelit meal. The lower terrace provides an alternative area for lounging and dining, but more private and shady.

Ideal venue

The villa was very comfortable, clean, with everything you need, nearby are a variety of good restaurants for all tastes.

The location is quiet with fantastic views, but a car is essential.

Would not hesitate in a return visit.

My wife and I, son and his partner stayed in this lovely villa for 8days. Everything about it was just as described and more. Spotless clean property complete with a great view from the balcony .Lots of travel books, cd,s etc. Lovely clean pool and secure parking. Definitely 5 star. Within 10 minutes drive plenty of good restaurants. We would recommend this property to friends and family.Joe and Isobel. Lisburn Northern Ireland.

We had a lovely two weeks and the villa is great. We saved a fortune on dining out as we were been quite happy to eat in and admire the view on most evenings. The shared pool was key, busy enough for children to meet and play but it never felt swamped.

The only problem is the fridge had an ice making machine and we're not sure we can cope without one now!

We would definitely think about going back.

De nuevo hemos vuelto a Moraira; la casa de Colin es un lugar ideal para pasar unas vacaciones en familia. Este matrimonio inglés, propietario de la villa, tiene un cuidado especial para que sus inquilinos se encuentren como si se tratase de su propia casa, cuentan con todo lo que puedas necesitar para la estancia: utensilios de cocina, sillas de playa, esteras ,juegos para los niños, libros, sillitas, trona y cuna para bebés....Hemos disfrutado mucho de la espléndida piscina de la urbanización, que está muy cuidada y en la que la tranquilidad es lo más importante, en muchas ocasiones teníamos la piscina para nuestro único uso, ya que los propietarios prefieren la playa. Vistas magníficas.... un lujo de vacaciones, gracias.

Casa Colina is on a hillside overlooking Moraira, easily reached from the sister town of Teluada, which is only about 5kms off the AP-7 motorway. Moraira has grown from a small fishing village to an attractive holiday resort with considerable charm, attracting visitors from all over Europe. There are no towering hotels or apartment blocks, owing to very strict planning controls. The luscious green countryside is dotted with white-washed villas and low-rise 'pueblo-style' apartment complexes mingling with pinewoods and cultivated vine terraces and orange groves. The area remains exclusively for villa owners and visitors who prefer an independent, rather than package-type holiday. Moraira has three very clean south-facing beaches and many restaurants and bars, and easy access is provided to a range of holiday attractions along the coast; also to wonderful mountain scenery and fascinating Spanish villages just inland.

Golf: The nearest golf course is only a few minutes drive away; others can be found in the nearby coastal towns of Calpe, Javea and Denia,.
