Expanded cape with tasteful contemporary furnishings and design, perfectly located just 100 feet from a guarded beach entrance. The first floor has a newly updated great room with a new designer kitchen with granite countertop and an unobstructed view of the dining and living room areas. Sliding glass doors from the dining area to the 1st floor rear deck provide easy access to a picnic table, a convenient spot for anything from a snack to an outdoor dinner. The first floor also includes two bedrooms, one with queen bed and one with two twin beds, a full ceramic tiled bathroom with a granite vanity top and a tub/shower, and a separate pantry/laundry room with a 2nd refrigerator, each accessible from the hall/ foyer.

The second floor includes a master bedroom, a second bedroom and a full bath, all directly off the foyer at the top of the stairs. The spacious master bedroom has a queen bed, a desk with a 24" computer monitor and an all-in-one printer, and access to the 2nd floor rear 12x20 deck which includes a table and chairs and two chaise lounges for sunning during the day and great star watching at night. The second large bedroom is furnished with two single beds and includes a game/puzzle collection to occupy the kids during cloudy days. The elegantly tiled bathroom features a double Corian sink unit and a glass-enclosed tiled shower with bench seat.

The entire house is cooled by central air conditioning. There are 4 tv’s in the house: one in the great room, one each in the queen bedrooms and one in the first floor twin bedroom. HBO and DirecTV. High speed wireless internet is accessible throughout the house and decks. The fully fenced backyard is a great play area for kids of all ages and includes a large Weber propane grill. A boardwalk walking path stretches from the street to the roomy backyard shower and the first floor rear deck.

Our house is located on Scott Drive in Holgate, the southernmost community on LBI. Scott Drive is a quiet dead end street with only 8 homes. Our house is the 2nd house in from the Boulevard, which in this area of LBI is a two lane beach road, with wide walking and bike lanes on each side. With the lower and generally slower traffic levels near the end of the island, crossing the boulevard to the beach entrance directly across the street is an easy task, day or night.

Holgate is, known for its family atmosphere and residential character. The island is fairly narrow at this end resulting in a less crowded and more serene atmosphere than most of the towns up island. Quiet side streets for biking and walking are plentiful as well as are some interesting local destinations within a 10 minute walk. There is a lookout a ½ mile from our house at the south end of the boulevard which offers a great view of the Atlantic City skyline, 15 miles to the south, visible both day and night. This spot also marks the entrance to the totally undeveloped bird sanctuary that extends 2 miles further south to the physical tip of the island. A bay front park, about a 5 minute walk past a scenic residential marina, features a public tennis court and playground and is a favorite gathering place for a glass of wine at sunset.

Bowker’s Deli located near the lookout offers breakfast items, sandwiches, newspapers, some convenience store items and ice cream. The Boardwalk, about ¾ mile north on the boulevard is a full service ice cream parlor, and also offers breakfast/sandwiches, some convenience store items, as well a bike and beach rental service.

Beach Haven which is 2 miles north offers a full variety of shopping, restaurant and other commercial establishments as well as Fantasy Island amusement park and Thundering Surf Water Park.

We have owned and rented this house for many years and use it as often as we can. We have equipped it with all the accessories you would expect to find in a permanent residence and all are available for your use. The rental includes the use of 4 adult beach badges and 2 senior beach badges, a variety of beach toys, 6 beach chairs, 2 adult bicycles and an extensive selection of books. We offer our house to families only, with a maximum occupancy of 8, including children.

Exactly as described!

Very nice house in great location. Only way to improve location is to be on the beach. This section of beach was a bit steeper than others within a few blocks, but still clean, guarded, and un-crowded. Short walk south to small bay-side park (swings, small slide/climber, see-saw equip), and longer walk north to larger BH park (lots of newer climbers, swings, soccer, roller hockey, restrooms). Pictures are exactly correct. Downstairs is clean and modern, with slightly small bedrooms. Upstairs bedrooms are very large and clean but older in decor. House was very well stocked with appliances and equipment. We lacked nothing, except maybe some hot water in the downstairs shower, which wouldn't get as warm as upstaris or outside. All appliances worked well. Very quite neighborhood; a short drive to downtown BH.

We were a family of four with a 2 and 5 yr old, my parents, and my aunt. The size was just right, as was the layout. With the kids up so early, the four of us stayed in the two bdrms downstairs, and the others were unbothered as a result. We would absolutely recommend this property, and may rent again ourselves.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the great feedback! When we remodeled the bathrooms, we set the new shower safety valve maximum temperature in the downstairs bath a little lower to protect small children, but perhaps a little too low. So, we've now raised the maximum temperature to the higher end of the manufacturer's recommended range, which will still prevent any chance of accidental scalding.

Beautiful home, easy access to beach, everything you need!

We had a fantastic stay at this house!! Our group was 3 couples and 2 small kids. It was a very comfortable week...

Kitchen & laundry room had all the items we needed, furnished with up to date appliances. Outdoor grill was perfect size

and patio gave us the extra room for some sunny days. The ocean side is literally across the street, so packing up & carrying our

stuff wasn't a problem at all. The house itself is located in a more quiet area - which is perfect! It's only a short drive to more activity

and restaurants. Oh, and the two provided bikes gave us hours of fun!! We'll definitely consider this house again!

7 of us stayed here from 8/9/08-8/16/08 & had a blast. The house is literally 100 yards from the beach & has a great view of the ocean from the upstairs deck. The house had nice furnishings, wireless internet, cable, modern amenities, as well as all necessary appliances. I would totally recommend staying here. Any family would feel at home. Oh yeah, great new bathrooms & tile work too!!

Car: necessary

Great location, 3rd from the ocean on a quiet dead end street in the most serene area of LBI. Take your morning coffee to the bench at the beach entrance directly across the Boulevard and watch the sun come up. Take a 10 minute walk to the bird sanctuary at the end of the island and see the Atlantic City skyline. 2 miles from shopping, amusements and water park in nearby Beach Haven. Dozens of restaurants of every stripe from breakfast at Uncle Will's to hoagies at Murphy's or an elegant dinner at the Gables. Atlantic City is an hour away by car or bay cruiser. NYC is 2 hours. Golf on the mainland. Tennis courts nearby. Uncrowded beaches. Cool night breezes. Great walking, biking, skating and people-watching on the Boulevard.
