Recently refurbished apartment in a small, mainly residential complex. Ideal for a relaxing family holiday or romantic break. Located away from noisy tourist areas, but within easy walking distance of Cabopino Harbour, shops, bars and superb restaurants. The newly completed Coastal Walkway, 6km between La Cala and Cabopino, runs alongside the apartment beach. The main double bedroom and the lounge have patio windows which afford fabulous views of the Med. These both open onto the large private terrace, which is ideal for 'al fresco' eating, lounging on the sunbeds, watching over the children in one of the 2 family pools or simply enjoying the view. The terrace is south west facing so gets the sun virtually all day. A stroll through the gardens leads to a clean, sandy beach complete with an excellent beach bar and restaurant, sunbeds and sun umbrellas. The modern kitchen is well equipped. The bathroom has a full sized bath with shower over. All spotlessly clean. A car isn't essential if you're planning a lazy holiday, as all amenities are within walking distance. Climate: The Costa del Sol is named the sunny coast for good reason. It enjoys more than 300 days of sunshine per year. Even the winter months are generally warm and pleasant. Naturally, it can sometimes be wet or windy, but its a great way of escaping our freezing wintry weather. The apartment is heated, but you'll probably only need it for those clear, cool winter evenings. April, May, June, Sept and October are lovely months with sunny weather, but without the extreme heat of high summer. Ideal for children. Temperatures during July and August can be very high and care needs to be taken in the sun. For your comfort the apartment is air-conditioned.

Getting there: Flights to Malaga airport are plentiful and generally inexpensive. From Malaga airport it is around 25 minutes drive. To make life easier, an airport transfer service is available at a cost of around 100 Euro return. Hire cars may be collected from the airport. Several Car hire companies operate from the airport. But book on internet for bargains. There is an excellent train service to Fuengirola from the airport and then a bus service which runs every 20 minutes past the front of the apartment, from Marbella to Fuengirola. The bus stop is in front of the complex. Fares are low, but its not suitable for families with lots of luggage as the buses don't have much storage space.

Suitability: Ideally suited to families or couples seeking a quiet and relaxing beach holiday but with access to local attractions. Secure gardens with two swimming pools and two kiddies paddling pools all with sunbeds. The mainly residential nature of the apartments mean no large groups of noisy tourists. Bars and restaurants are close enough to get to on foot, but far enough away to cause no disturbance. The majority of my visitors simply enjoy relaxing on the terrace, lazing around the pool or wandering through the gate onto the safe, sandy beach. They may visit one of the excellent 'Chiringuitos' or beach bar/restaurants or enjoy a stroll along the Coastal Walkway or along the water's edge to Cabopino Marina. For winter visitors, it is ideally situated to get around the Costa Del Sol either by car or by public transport. Apartment is on 1st floor and accessible by lift so suitable for elderly or disabled. Accessible for wheelchairs and pushchairs, although there is a small step in the hallway.

Great location with sea view/ beach access and pools

We have 4 children 6 & under including a 5 month old baby & have just returned from a 10 night stay. The apartment was clean and comfortable with everything we needed (including CBeebies & WiFi!). Terrace overlooks a pool ideal for children with steps & gradual increase in depth & was never very busy. Direct beach access was just what we were looking for & weren't disappointed. Capobino beach through the woods was fine with a pram once past the initial steep incline /steps & beach there has fine sand and very safe bathing for children. Boardwalk going from outside apartment was a nice walk the other way. We hired a car - Marbella was a lovely day out & Ronda was spectacular. Although no designated parking, we always managed to park OK in the gated car park. We found everything we needed in the supermarkets close by. We had a lovely break & would definitely recommend!

Comfortable apartment in a great location.

We had a lovely holiday here, excellent location for beach, pool, restaurants and supermarkets. The apartment and pools within the complex are clean and tidy. The terrace is nice and big with a great view of the sea. Perfect place for a relaxing week in the sun.

Lovely location

This was our second visit to this apartment we love the location and above all the large sunny and comfortable terrace. The terrace overlooks the beach and is a wonderful place to sit and relax and enjoy the view. The excellent Luna beach restaurant and bar is a favourite haunt, great food, great service and on the beach what else could you want, our other favourite nearby is Royal Beach 5mins along the walkway. Again perfect position lovely food and great gin and tonic! The apartment complex is quiet and well maintained and just across the road are 2 supermarkets, a couple of restaurants, ATM machine so everything you really need. The apartment is conveniently located between Cabo Pino and El Zoco if you want more bars and restaurants. Both are 10-15mins walk in either direction, the newly constructed walkway has made such a difference to this strip of coast. If you enjoy walking you can go for miles in either direction we often walked into La Cala and got the bus back or vice versa, the bus stops right outside the apartment. The beach at Cabo Pino is great for something more lively two excellent beach bars with both La Lonja (Elvis on a Sunday is a must!) and Andys. The apartment itself is clean, spacious and comfortable and has all the requirements we could need. Sue was great to deal with all very easy and efficient and any problems there are local agents a phone call away. We will certainly be back

Great location and views

We have recently returned from a 4 week stay at this lovely apartment which suited our needs perfectly. We were first amazed at how easy it was to get to the apartment using public transport (train from airport to Fuengirola then bus to Calahonda with bus stop at rear of apartment building). Sue's instructions on how to get there were spot on.

The Marbella Mar apartment building is well maintained both outside and in and gave a good first impression. The apartment itself is fresh, clean and spacious but the best feature is the location - a few minutes walk to supermarket and bus stops and best of all is right by the beach. There is a large south west facing terrace with fantastic views to the beach and the sea. We spent most of our time there but did manage to drag ourselves away to visit other places along the coast using the local bus which runs frequently throughout the day.

The owner, Sue, was efficient in her communications and very helpful. We would have no hesitation in recommending this apartment and plan to return in the not too distant future.

Lovely apartment in a very good position

The apartment is spacious, very clean, attractive and in a very good position. It also has a good washing machine which helps if you only need cabin hand luggage. If you decide to cook ,everything is available and in good order . The bathroom is lovely and water is always hot.The balcony has all day sun with lots of space overlooking the beach (very clean) and a very good beach bar/restaurant. It's also quiet and private.

The board walk can be joined at the bottom of the apartment block and is superb. We walked several times into Calahonda and it was interesting, easy and enjoyable. The Porto Cabopino walk can be made through the trees or on the beach. We also did this several times through the trees the first little bit up hill but otherwise an easy walk and passing luxury properties. Also while we were there a lot of the hill landscape was tidied up and made safer.

At the entrance to grounds of the apartments there is a bridge crossing the main road which gives immediate access to supermarket and Lidle, also cash machines and cafes./restaurants.

We will return!

A ten minute stroll along the beach or the fabulous Coastal Walkway brings you to pretty Cabopino harbour. This unspoilt marina boasts several excellent restaurants and bars, water sports, dolphin spotting trips, and beach bars. In the opposite direction, the fantastic new Coastal Walkway runs along the beach for 6km to the Spanish town of La Cala. Situated in a quiet, mainly residential complex, the apartment is conveniently located two minutes walk from supermarkets, cash machine, newsagent, beach shop and a couple of bars and restaurants. The Luna Beach restaurant is highly recommended with excellent food, and weekend Flamenco Shows.We are situated 15 Km from Marbella, in Calahonda area. 25 min. drive from Málaga Airport, (airport transfers are available if required) A hire car or local excursion enables easy access to pretty Andalucian villages, the Barbary apes of Gibraltar, the stunning old town of Ronda, or further afield Cadiz, Seville and the Alhambra Palace at Granada. A newly built zoo, two water parks, a sea life centre are all within 15mins drive or take a bus from the front door. A wide range of lively bars and restaurants are 500 metres away in Calahonda, or sample the fabulous nightlife of Marbella or Puerto Banus.

Smoking permitted on the private terrace only. Fabulous views of the Mediterranean, makes outdoor dining a must - a large patio table, six chairs and a sun umbrella have are provided. The private terrace, equipped with sun loungers, also overlooks the swimming and paddling pool (see photo). Mature gardens with 2 swimming and paddling pools, sun beds, showers. From the garden, a gate leads on to a safe, sandy beach with beach bar/restaurant, sun beds and parasols. The kitchen is fitted with a microwave and a small oven and grill. There is also a halogen hob, kettle, coffee maker. Efficient air-conditioning/heating in main living area and in main bedroom. A ceiling fan is provided in the second bedroom.
