Bright threads of history weave through Washington Market Loft. Look for carved busts and urns in the master bedroom, while a collection of unglazed pottery form a tableau on the dining table. Tribeca too is layered with history. Although its lofts have been reimagined inside, their detailed facades and latticed external ladders are as denizens past would remember. Take a tour – there are plenty lining the surrounding streets – then return home for a soak in the old-fashioned, claw-footed tub.

Time travellers

Your hosts travel often, seeking out places that transition between the ages. That’s what drew them to Tribeca too, along with its proximity to the river.

Look back

The open-plan living area is particularly chic, its sumptuous velvet armchairs and antique footstools sitting alongside mid-century coffee tables. And walls are subtle with texture, from the ivory stencilling in the living space to the whitewashed bricks in the bedroom.

Flashes of the home's history have been carefully preserved – in the dining room the beams of the ceiling have been excavated, and stained glass gleams above the French doors. But for this home’s glimpses of the past, its look is also fresh – there are warm gray cabinets paired with lilac walls in the kitchen, contemporary monochrome tiles in the bathroom, and a tufted king bed in the master bedroom.

About Owner / Property Manager

onefinestay gives you the chance to stay in someone's place while they're out of town. You get to live their life for a few days and nights.

Booking a stay is as easy as booking a hotel room. And there's service to match.

Nobody wants to be a tourist, so our homes come with recommendations from the people who live in them. For everything else, we're here 24/7.

Why Owner / Property Manager chose Manhattan

Like a humble hero elevated to great heights in a classic American movie, Tribeca has come a long way from its rough and tumble roots.

Once an urban wilderness of industrial warehouses, it has become the New York neighborhood of choice for America’s celebrities, entrenched as one of the country’s most expensive zip codes. In the 1960s and 1970s, artists such as renowned sculptor Richard Serra colonized the 'Triangle Below Canal Street', transforming former cotton and textile warehouses into vast, light-drenched lofts.

These days, Tribeca is filled with affluent finance and film industry types, whose every whim can be indulged in the thriving neighborhood.

A rich restaurant scene offers up every taste imaginable, from old favorites Nobu and Megu to artisanal food courts, Danish smørrebrød, and Macau-influenced tapas. The nightlife can take you back to the downtown scene of yore with a gritty dance club, but can also offer up an oenophile’s dream of a wine bar or a craft cocktail space straight out of hipster Brooklyn.

Family-friendly entertainment is likewise easily accessible, with the Hudson River Park offering up gorgeous river views as well as mini golf, beach volleyball, tennis, and even a skateboard park.

What makes this apartment unique

Booking a stay is as easy as booking a hotel room, with online payment and confirmation. You get the same attention to detail and personal service too.

Every home is properly cleaned before and after you stay, beds made (we can even do hospital corners) and bathrooms kitted out with luxury toiletries. There’s a maid service if you want it, as well as other hotel-style amenities.

Once we’ve helped you settle in, we’re just a call away, 24/7. If it’s something we can’t solve over the phone, we’ll pop over to lend a hand.

And because nobody wants to be a tourist, our homes come with personal and unique recommendations from the people who live in them – places to eat, things to do and adventures to go on.
