Large house renovated Normandy style in the heart of the grove. Enclosed land with trees (8000 m2), quiet and charming environment.

The House :

On the ground floor, fitted kitchen and utility room, a large dining room of over 35 m2 with fireplace and pellet stove, a bedroom with double bed overlooking the bathroom and the toilet.

Upstairs, two bedrooms en suite. One consists of two single beds and a reading area overlooking the second with a double.

Beautiful spacious house in Normandie to get away from it all!

The photos of the chalet are a good representation of the actual situation. It is idyllically situated in the typical Normandy landscape with lots of agriculture and nature around. It is not far from Torchamp, a typical mini village, with no services. A small river is located at about 50 yds. down from the chalet. The road is about 30/40 yds. Because there is a low fence all around the premises, it is safe for small children up to the age of 4, when they are not resourceful enough to find a way over it. Per day no more than 5 cars will pass the chalet, so it is easy to say it is quiet! No noises of human origin only from birds, insects, cows and/or sheep.

The chalet is tastefully furnished and is well stocked with (most) household items. It was very clean! There is no Wi-Fi, or internet from your provider to speak of! Sometimes we even had no phone connection. So this location is everything for people who want to get away from it all and perhaps not as suitable for families with adolescent children of this day and age... The bathroom and toilet can be reached through the downstairs bedroom. So for the upstairs sleepers who need to go, it is essential to be extra quiet for the people in the this bedroom. Unless they want to go through the trouble of getting around, outside the house, as there is an outside door in the bathroom. You could fish in the river if you get a permit at the end of the road at the Centre de Pleine Nature.

The owner, mr. Beaudet, is very friendly and helpful and does everything to make you at home! But keep in mind, he speaks only French. His son can be helpful by phone or by SMS when there is a language barrier. He speaks very good English.

Domfront, a very pleasant medieval village, 10 km north and 10 car-minutes away from the cottage, offers plenty of opportunity for lunch/dinner (f.i. Auberge le grand Gousier!) and groceries (big Intermarche and reasonable Carrefour). Normandie and Bretagne offer plenty of opportunity to go sightseeing, but it costs time to get there. There are virtually no highways, but every route you follow offers plenty of beautiful countryside!

We valued this house with 4 stars, because there is allways room for improvement (Wi-fi?). Four-and-a-half would be more suitable!

We would definitely recommend this chalet to everyone who recognizes in our review his/her demands for a perfect vacation.
