Kelley’s Cove is located towards the start of Fairbank Point, where the water starts on the southeast side (sunrises). Beautiful morning sunrises are across the water and to the left. Kelley’s Cove is a dug-in cove/bay which provides well protected water access and dockage. This is a great area for boating, canoeing, kayaking, and decent fishing. It is about 2.7 miles from the ferry dock and about 5.5 miles to town.
The Kelley homestead was originally built in 1951. It was added on too and updated over time. Being built in the 50’s, it was common for bedrooms to be smaller and without closets. There are 3 bedrooms with queen beds and an open wardrobe type closet for clothes. There is only one bathroom. The living room has a great water view and door access to the front deck. The kitchen has electric stove, refrigerator/freezer, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, cooking utensils and dishes (everything needed). There is a laundry room with washer and dryer. Towels and linens are provided. Internet WiFi is provided (good enough for Youtube or Netflix). At this time there is NO TV. The entire house has been recently re-painted and many items updated. I intend to have new kitchen appliances and another new queen mattress exchanged by July 4th.
There is a front deck to relax on, with grill, table and chairs. There are two docks out front, providing a boat slip for you, while the other is for the caretaker/rental manager and potential kayak rentals. In the front yard, is a fire pit with log style seating and enough firewood provided for a fire. Often there are 2 families of ducks being raised in the cove, and plenty of deer and other wildlife passing thru. The bay itself is about 6 ft deep. The bottom is not rocky or sandy, but muck(a squishy soft bottom). There is a right of access to the water for kayak rentals which are seen in the right side of the yard. On the satellite view, you will see outside the kitchen window is a private drive, which gets occasional use by kayak renters.
