During the summer the Rotonde and the ‘45˚Est’ terraces of the Place Stalingrad stage a wide variety of events.. In july and august you will be just next the renowned ‘Paris Plage’, a sandy beach on the banks of the Canal. The ‘104’ arts centre is just steps away. Just two metro stops to the north you will find the Cité des Sciences de la Villette, with its large park where there open air cinema screenings and free concerts during summer.
In direction of Bastille at few meters of the appartment you are in Canal St Martin area, ‘Hotel du Nord’ district, with its boutiques, typically Parisian bars and restaurants, perfect for a stroll to discover the real Paris, for few years it s where the parisian style revival is the most visible. Creatives stores , Craft Bakeries , trendy terraces... . A little bit further you can walk to the Marais, also trendy and fashion where are the Place des Vosges , Victor Hugo’s house and the Carnavalet Museum.
There are three metro lines right by the apartment:
Line 2 (direction Etoile Champs Elysées), for the Sacré Coeur;
Line 5 for the Grande Halle de la Villette, the Gare du Nord, the Gare d’Austerlitz and the airport Roissy Charles de Gaulle and Bastille ;
Line 7 for the Cité des Sciences, Opéra, the Louvre and rue Moufftard.
The large, hilly Parc Buttes Chaumont is a wonderful place to relax and take in the views across Paris
Within 200 metres there are: a supermarket, a ‘Bio’food shop, two large cinemas, restaurants, two boulangèries, a florist and lots more beside.
