For a single weekend or a week, you will become a little Lourmarinois in this charming guest house of the 16th century hidden in the heart of one of the most beautiful villages in France, Lourmarin.
Dated from 1582 as the "third oldest house Lourmarin" and not far from that of Albert Camus and close to the Castle, it is an ideal base for exploring Provence and Luberon.
Passing under the arches of the impasse of Cordière you will discover a haven of peace unsuspected: well away from stone walls 5 charming independent cottages and rooms are built around a quiet courtyard, fresh, romantic away from the noise and passers but close to all amenities.
Here the atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. We like to say "you are at home here!"
Pets are welcome on request.
The house is built harmoniously around a romantic and shaded courtyard.
Here nothing is square, no room is identical. Each has its own atmosphere, its own charm. Tastefully decorated with antiques over the years, they all have a double and comfortable bed, a nice bathroom, a kitchen, dining and sitting area and TV and stereo. Wifi is available everywhere.
To allow you to relax comfortably, individual tables, chairs and lounge chairs are arranged in the yard near the summer kitchen at your disposal. If your day was busy and prefer to stay quiet, you can sit around a large farmhouse table to take light meals. A barbecue is available.
With its narrow streets, squares decorated with carved fountains, cafes with sunny terraces, Lourmarin attracts more than the passing tourist: its label of "one of the most beautiful villages in France" is not usurped and number of artists have taken up residence. The first of them, Albert Camus, Nobel Prize for Literature, is rest.
But especially Lourmarin has a permanent animation: the Renaissance chateau, small Villa Medicis open to art, knowledge and friendship, and the majestic classified Protestant temple, welcome in the spring of outstanding quality multiple concerts (including some enter the Piano Festival program Cadenet).
Many galleries exhibit paintings and watercolors sketched by painters throughout the year. Among the writers and artists who have chosen to reside there, well hidden in the surrounding countryside, we find Peter Mayle who contributed so much with his best seller "A Year in Provence" in promoting our region in the world.
In terms of gastronomy, no need to go further to enjoy all that Provence offers best: simple bistro to Michelin starred restaurants, everyone will find happiness in all price: Lourmarin has a good fifteen good restaurants and wineries offer tastings you'll remember!
The weekly market, one of the most beautiful in Provence with its colors and diversity, takes place on Friday morning. It attracts many tourists, but has remained on a human scale and worship musical atmosphere and "good child".
Culinary demonstrations by local restaurateurs animate the farmers market held on Tuesday evening from May to October on the theme of organic agricultural products and wine.
