Ceol Na Mara is a well equipped holiday home that is suited to families and/or outdoor enthusiasts. It is comfortable, has a homely atmosphere, and has plenty of space to store outdoor equipment. It can sleep up to 8 people with the ground floor accommodation comprising of: a Lounge with a dining area and panoramic views over the loch through two large patio windows (dining area can be curtained off to make the lounge cosier on winter evenings); a large, well equipped kitchen, adjacent utility room with washing machine and drier, spacious modern bathroom with WC, wash hand basin, bath and a walk in shower ; double bedroom with views over the Loch, and a twin bedroom at the rear. Upstairs there are 2 well-proportioned bedrooms, each with wash hand basin and large wardrobes. One of the bedrooms has a king-size bed and the other is a family room with bunks for children and a double bed. There is a separate WC on landing and separate shower room with a bidet.
Heating in the lounge is by night storage heaters with convectors and the bedrooms and bathroom all have wall mounted convector heaters. The kitchen is heated by a modern timed oil heater. Additional heating facilities are available for cold winter nights.
The house is largely carpeted with modern kitchen and bathroom flooring, and there are plenty of books and maps, board games, a wide-screen TV, DVD player, radio and CD player. There is good Wi-Fi Internet access and a telephone for incoming calls.
Outside there is a terrace, ideal for sitting out on fine days, with a water slipway right from the house for those interested in water sports. Shieldaig is an ideal location for a range of outdoor activities, and the house has a purpose built shelter which accommodates a number of bikes that can be hung, as well as a drying area for wetsuits etc. An outside tap and hose allows for cleaning of outdoor kit.
