My better half and I live and work out of the main house. We are mostly on site, yet out of site.
House Rules: We make a point of being quiet in the evening so you can relax, and we ask that you observe reasonable quiet hours as well between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m.. Please also be mindful of the noise level if you're coming in late as we have neighbors who wake up very early for work on both sides of the house. Please no packages or food deliveries to the house since they invariable come to the wrong door. Do not use our address for any purpose (such as writing it down as your own address on an application) to help us avoid unwanted mail after your stay. No pet are allowed in the cottage at any time. This is a completely non-smoking property as I work with people who have breathing problems. Please don't smoke anywhere on the property (e-cigs are okay) or in front of our neighbors' houses. No hair dyes, tanning agents or anything else that might damage linens may be used in the unit. If you suspect you might have an issue (for example, you just had your hair colored or tanner applied), please let me know prior to your stay so I can use linens that won't be harmed such as black towels to help avoid damage charges. No parties, no drugs, no guests who are not on your contract. Thank you for your understanding.

I purchased this property from my mother 17 years ago, and she had previously inherited it from her mother before her. My Great Uncle Jack planted the huge maple tree in the front garden nearly 50 years ago, and I intend to stay here for the rest of my years.
I've been teaching classical voice and music privately for over 25 years, and I began to host guests when students would come to study from abroad and discovered the challenge of finding a comfortable, affordable place to stay in this area. We're very proud of what we're able to offer here and enjoy having guests return again and again.
Elizabeth purchased this cottage in 1995
This is a great location for professionals in the entertainment industry... very convenient to studios, a very easy place to live. South of Ventura Blvd. makes all the difference as it's all single family residential and used to be known as Bel Air Estates, yet it's a quick walk down to all kinds of restaurants and shopping.
Privacy, quiet, comfort and convenience, and of course, the fountain. The real clincher is to be SO close to the Woodman and Ventura attractions (i.e. Vespa, Massage Place, numerous recording studios and restaurants) and yet to feel so tucked back into a quiet residential location where you don't have to fight for parking (thanks to the parking pass). Picket fences abound!
Great property with all essentials provided in an enjoyable / private setting. Fantastic / convenient location. Elizabeth is the best of hosts--great sense of humor and helpful on so many levels. Our son lives in North Hollywood and we would continue staying with Elizabeth on all future visits.
The guest house cottage was spotless and beautifully appointed Elizabeth was an exceptional host. Available at a moments notice if we needed anything but also giving us absolute privacy . The neighborhood is charming, quiet and close to everything. We couldn't have asked for anything more and will definitely be returning :-)
Recently booked the cottage for the second time, along with my girlfriend. This place truly never fails to impress. Elizabeth does a spectacular job with the cleaning and maintenance, and is always just a simple text away if needed. Combined with the location, I would HIGHLY recommend booking this cottage; it will always be our first choice.
We had a very pleasant stay in this charming guest cottage. Elizabeth, the owner, was very helpful and lovely to work with.
This property in one simple word was 'Wonderful'. The hostess, location, bed, room and amenities. I would stay there again in a heartbeat. I would never stay in a hotel again after this. Great job Elizabeth! An addition of a patio area will be great.
Best homeaway ever !! Elizabeth is an amazing host. Super gracious and so sweet. The guest house was spotless and very cosy. Great location can walk to lots of restaurants and grocery shops near by. I will definitely return if it's available. I truly can't say one bad thing about this little gem . Elizabeth even thought to send out a reminder txt about the no parking on the street on street cleaning day . Loads of spaces across the street and saved me a ticket. Thanks elizabeth hope to be back soon.
South Sherman Oaks provides a picket-fence oasis tucked in the foothills, loaded with world-class eateries within a five minutes walk and television studios within a ten minute drive.
You don't need a car, but most prefer it in L.A.. We provide a temporary permit for guests so you can always park right in front of the house in case you're driving. I'm third-generation Los Angelina. I've lived all over the city before settling down here in my favorite L.A. neighborhood.
Enjoy hiking and biking in our Hollywood Hills nature conservancy trails or brave Beverly Hills down on the other side of Mullholland Drive. We prefer to stay here in the valley where the parking is usually easy and plentiful and the shopping offers plenty of options. Fashion Square shopping center with Bloomingdales is about a mile away. The famous Sherman Oaks Galleria was completely redone a few years ago and now provides a home to our favorite movie theater, the ArcLight Cinema, where you reserve your own spacious seat and enjoy a 'professional' atmosphere sans chatter.
Roughly half of our guests come to work in the entertainment industry due to our close proximity to film and television studios, and many of the rest come to visit family nearby. For the rest who come to relax and vacation, the Getty Museum is always a wonderful way to spend the day, and you can take the scenic route out Mullholland to get there.
If you're looking to walk down the street for some fine dining, Il Tiramisu is always my first choice, and not just because it's 45 seconds away. Northern Italian cuisine, wonderful service. Say hello to Ivo and Peter for me!
Sweetharts is hard to pass up on the walk back. Yummy gelatos and ice creams. Actress Melissa Joan Hart started it up a few years ago as a labor of love, and we're so happy to have this addition to the neighborhood.
Sweetbutter, about a 90-second walk is rustic marketplace with a delectable array of housemade muffins, scones, cookies and layer cakes. It's always packed, but it's well worth it.
Isakaya M Sushi, just as close, is a fun sushi bar that's open all afternoon through 'til 12 or 1 a.m. most nights.
I could go on and on about the restaurants. Just conduct a search for 'restaurants near Woodman Ave and Ventura Blvd' and you'll see what I mean.
