Good to look at.

No welcome pack, I have never known this to happen before. As all the shop's were closed and my husband is Diabetic the kind people in the pub opened the kitchen and made him a sandwich and sold him some milk. [lesson learned on my part, always carry some food] Very cold 1st night as Staff did not show us how to put the heating on. Kettle leaked all over the bench,. One bed broken luckily we did not need it. Only cold showers till the staff came and turned the regulator around to full. Maybe it was just me but I had to hold the plug in the socket while I dried my hair. Mosquito netting needed fixing but luckily they were not out during my stay.

Needs new pillows desperately. No pillow protectors, luckily I had brought my own protector. Was thinking of buying new pillow's for a good nights sleep. Again this is my fault I thought there had been a mistake when I was told there would be only 1 change of bedding during my stay. As I was staying for 3 weeks and told I had, had my 1 change after 7 day's .I ended up washing the pillow cases and bottom sheets myself. Dog's none stop barking. For all this I was not on a holiday. I really needed the Wi-Fi and that was good. As the weather was really bad was pleased they had cable TV.

Great stay, in a terrific place.

We’d stayed in Conceição before, but not at O Pomar.

We’d enjoyed our previous trip, but O Pomar was much better.

From the apartment, it was 10 seconds to Vert ‘in, a French owned, but with a European menu, restaurant, food, wine, and service consistently good, another 5 -10 seconds takes you to The Old Barrel, a very good pub, nice to sit outside in the evenings and nurse a bottle of rosé.

The pub has a couple of TVs, and very often showed top soccer games, not my bag, so I stayed outside, but it was never raucous, even when England played Slovenia, there were just a handful of Brits quietly enjoying it.

If you go for a drink in the couple of Portuguese bars, on Rua 25 de Abril, they get a tad more excited watching Portuguese league games, but they don’t get out of hand, and you may pick up some useful phrases if the referee gives a disputed penalty!

You’re spoilt for choice with good restaurants, and we were particularly impressed by Rota dos Sabores, opposite the Church of Conceição.

There are quite a few more on the 15-20 minute walk to the sea front, and plenty more when you get there.

We’d recommend the apartment and area without hesitation.

Superb apartment and exactly as advertised.

We had a fabulous holiday in Cabanas and would definitely go back there. This apartment is excellent. It has everything you need, air con is brilliant, everything works and it's very good quality throughout. Plenty of room in the apartment, beautifully clean with 2 really good showers. It has two balconies the rear one is larger and is great for eating al fresco and the little one leads out from the main bedroom and overlooks the pool, complete with some pretty fairy lights !

The complex is great. The Old Barrel pub is nice for a drink and has sport channels.We didn't eat there but had a couple of meals at The Vert Inn which is just up the steps from the pool. Food is excellent and reasonable and the couple who run it are lovely. In fact we found everybody very friendly. The only slightly negative thing for us was that the pool was very busy. We thought that we had avoided school holidays by going at the end of June but we had not accounted for Irish school holidays which start then and consequently there were lots of children - we have nothing against children but now ours are older we prefer it a little quieter. Having said all of that,there is no reserving of sun beds as the pool attendants are quite rightly very diligent about removing towels from my reserved beds if you arrive and can't find one!

The complex could probably do with another pool to accommodate the number of people there but the existing pool is lovely. O Pomar overall is excellent and we would recommend it.

We have had one of the best holidays and if you hire a car there are some lovely places and beautiful unspoilt beaches to explore. However you can manage without a car as a a 10 minute walk into Cabanas brings you to the promenade where you can pick up a little water taxi to the beach for 1 euro 50 return ! It's brilliant!

This place is well worth a visit and the apartment is superb.
