The House

Slip into the Bajan groove at One Battaleys Mews, a Colonial style townhouse with contemporary décor and high-tech comfort just a few minutes' walk, and 500 metres from one of the best-known beaches on Barbados, namely Mullins, with the renowned Mullins Beach Bar & Grill, water sports, sun-bed hire, a children's play area in one area and a small beach shack with assorted items for sale and rent

Though within easy reach of the restaurants, shops, and entertainment of the West Coast of the island, Battaleys Mews feels private and tranquil, tucked into a quiet neighbourhood in the parish of St. Peter.

Surrounded by exotic gardens, the mews abound with indigenous plants and One Battaleys is one of a handful of privately-owned properties within the estate. This three-bedroom house with its recently refurbished rooms keeps a 'home from home' feel while staying contemporary and practical.

Alongside the very well-equipped kitchen, the open-plan living area with contemporary seating and large dining table, and a washroom, the house has a terrace with a gas BBQ, ample seating, alongside the cold-water Jacuzzi plunge pool with all the bedrooms and bathrooms upstairs.

Parking for three cars is on the driveway.

The main bedroom has a large en-suite with bath and walk-in shower and balcony seating while the second and third bedrooms share a shower bathroom. Bedroom three has twin beds that can be joined to make a third double. We also have two inflatable single airbeds which can be provided by prior arrangement.

All bedrooms have sensor-controlled air conditioning and all the windows have blinds and mosquito grills.

The mews have a security and administration office within the clubhouse.

Our housekeeper of five years, Tricia, is on hand and pops by every few days and can recommend on any trips or excursions, babysitting, chef or whatever you may need, as can we and recommend and point our guests in the right direction to find out more.

Opposite: Mullins beach with sun beds available to rent; excellent for swimming, water sports and long walks before breakfast.

Try - Mullins Bar & Grill which is on the beach and serves food for a more casual lunch or drink at as the sun sets or try Bombas Beach Bar, a short stroll north of the beach.

Holetown - is just 10 minutes by car to the south and has many fine restaurants, a large well stocked international supermarket and the Limegrove shopping complex.

Speightstown: is 5 minutes to the north and has a supermarket, banks, and restaurants.

Family and friends use this house alongside guests we have had for six years and from all over the world.

Care has been taken to decorate and furnish the house with high-quality appliances and a relaxing non-hotel feel.

It is not run as a commercial entity and only offered here to help with the running costs.

With everything in the kitchen and bedrooms you would like to have to hand, we did want to offer more than a generic standard rental unit, yet modestly priced.

We are always available to help with anything, either personally, or we pass on our guest’s detail with their consent to the concierge service at the local agents we know, or guests usually ask our housekeeper, Tricia, who has a wealth of information.

Fantastic Property - Fabulous Holiday !!

It was the first time we had stayed in a private property and not a hotel and to be totally honest I was slightly dubious.

We felt at home from the minute we arrived and the house had everything we needed. We hired a car and toured the island but also did plenty of sunbathing by the pool at the Clubhouse. The staff were friendly and could not do enough for us. Would most definitely recommend this property to anyone - if there was one criticism it would be that the garden is only small but not really a terrible problem as we did all our sunbathing by the pool at the Clubhouse.

We will definitely be returning.

Amazing Villa

This was a fantastic villa - everything from the website & some. The place was immaculately clean, fresh linen, good pool and easy to get to & from. Tricia was really helpful throughout our stay. Would absolutely recommend No.1 Bateleys Mill to anyone.

Simply Beautiful

We had a wonderful stay at One Battaleys Mews. the house was immaculate and walking in was a real "wow" moment. Tricia greeted us with warmth and was on hand for restaurant bookings and recommendations. Mullins beach was sadly washed away before we arrived and the beach bar closed. However we still swam there often and there are many other beautiful beaches nearby. If i have one minor complaint it was the Gym facilities on site, just a cross trainer and a set of water filled dumbbells plus lots of mosquito's! All in all a fantastic holiday with great memories from Battaleys mews. Sincerely hope to return one day

Fab location beautiful house

This property was in the most perfect location for us, it's well maintained clean and stylishly furnished with everything you need to enjoy your holiday. The house is set in very quiet surroundings and is only a 7 min stroll from Mullins beach and a garage where you can pick up any essentials night or day. Lovely, well equipped house on small, quiet complex

The house is relatively new and this shows compared to many of the holiday places in which we've stayed on more established complexes on the West Coast. We really appreciated extra touches such as apple tv and the bose sound dock and the mosquito nets on the windows (which mean you can keep windows wide open after dusk without being bitten to death!). Plenty of space for our family of 2 adults and 2 children to spread out and the bedrooms are comfortable. The living space is nicely designed, sofa looks great, but not the best for lounging given the loose cushions! Kitchen is reasonably well equipped and there's a very easy to use BBQ - we had great fish from the local fish market. If you plan on doing washing, take a few washing machine capsules with you. Tricia was very nice and visited twice in 10 days - would have welcomed another housekeeping visit during our time in line with usual holiday rental set ups (2/3 x a week). Location is great for exploring the West Coast and is close to Speighstown and Mullins beach which is well set up for visitors ... though v. easy to spend $ there! The complex is very quiet and the pool area, though nice is quite small; our kids (11 & 9) were sufficiently entertained but not so great if you want to plough a few lengths. Being located within a local neighbourhood and relatively close to Speightstown we did get some distant music a couple nights; a juddery truck early in mornings/later in evenings on the track right behind the house a few times and cockerels and goats from a neighbour, so if you need complete peace and quiet be aware of this. We are quite noise sensitive, so we were a little disturbed, but really not drastically. The flip side of this is that though the complex (being gated and with v good & friendly security) feels apart from the neighbours, it is still nice to get a bit more of a glimpse of 'real' Bajan life compared with many holiday rentals on the island!

Many items, such as cots, electric blowup bed, stair gate can be made available - our rates include housekeeping for three visits per 6 days of stay.

Fresh linen/towels will be at the house and will be more than enough for the stay, and the house has a good stock of these items as well as washing machine/drying line and dishwasher/hoover/brushes, etc. We also provide beach towels, beach bags, coolbox, hair dryers and bath robes

The damage / security deposit is returned within 7 days of guests checking out and this is held by HomeAway and refunded by them automatically to the same payment method
