Fabulous Stay!!!

  • 5 of 5

"Thank you so much for a fabulous stay! And, Adriana, thank you so much for all your help arranging everything.. It couldn't have been better! From chef Veronica to our day with Alessandro.. it was all wonderful. We truly enjoyed the apartment and the views. The location is excellent . We enjoyed being able to explore the city.. it is a fascinating combination of the old and new... so interesting. We loved being able to feel like we were living a little like true Romans!"

Great location, great staff, master suite needs updating

  • 4 of 5

Such a truly unique 1960s apartment and a splendid location. The terraces are lovely! Adrianna, who was kind enough to check us in early and provide great sight seeing information was wonderful. We unfortunately could not provide a better review as the master bedroom was very dated with water stained carpet and a pervasive foul smell like old mold. We had read a similar previous review from the prior year and thought condition would either be updated (as website suggested was scheduled) or perhaps not as bad as it sounded but unfortunately it was as bad as described and tainted our overall stay. My husband and I would have rated this apartment a 3 but our teenagers gave it a 4 and majority rules. Of note, only bedrooms are air conditioned so in July when temperatures are in 90’s use of the non-bedroom living space may be a bit limited due to heat in this penthouse apartment. The gulls flying over the altare de patria late night are majestic. I’m keeping that incredible terrace view in mind!!

Owner's Response: We are glad that you enjoyed the location and the terraces, and that your teens loved the apartment. I am sorry that you felt your stay was less than perfect. We are aware that there were spots on the carpet from the leak this spring. The carpet is actually being installed on 21 July, but we have checked the apartment, and there is no mould or smell of mould, and certainly with the 10 days of work that is scheduled, but 1 August the apartment will be perfect. Thank you for taking the time to write.

Great Location

  • 3 of 5

Spent 10 days in this apartment in June 2018. It is an excellent location from which to explore the city as all of the major attractions are within walking distance. Didn't need to get a taxi once during the entire time and we managed to visit just about all of the sites. Adriana was great at arranging transportation to and from the airport and was on hand to answer any questions.

The pros:

Apart from the location, the apartment is large and easily accommodates a large group. There are three different balconies with excellent views of the city. Adriana left an information booklet with some recommendations about where to eat and to buy essentials, this was very valuable.

The cons:

It can be noisy outside and this can be very noticeable at night.

Although the description states there are two bathrooms, there is only one functional shower, which would benefit from a deep clean.

The property is older and has lots of character (or is just a bit 'quirky') and could do with some updating, particularly the kitchen and upper bathroom.

Overall we enjoyed our stay

Owner's Response: We are glad that you enjoyed your stay and so many positive things about the great location, the amazing terraces, far bigger than balconies, ( they are actually outdoor living rooms) as well as the character of the apartment itself. As far as the fact that you found it noisy at night, that is part of the character of Rome. Because of beautiful evenings Romans move outside, and can be rather boisterous. This is true all of the town. This neighbourhood is one of the quieter ones at night, given that it is next to the Presidential Palace. The apartment is in fact closed for some renovations next week for the rest of the month, so if you come back, you will find it updates. Thank you for staying with us.

Beautiful Terrace Apartment in heart of Rome

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved the penthouse apartment. Every night, a lovely breeze came through as we opened the doors of the terraces to watch the sunset. This was after a long day of sightseeing. The location was perfect as we walked to the Colosseum, Roman Forum, the Vatican, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, etc. The rental company gave us several great restaurant suggestions and arranged for transportation from the airport. We would definitely stay here again. Our teenagers (age 11 & 16) loved it as well!

Ideally located property with fantastic views and a wonderful feel

  • 4 of 5

Our group was composed of my two children (16 & 18), each with one of their friends and myself. The apartment is spacious enough that we had room to relax in between our excursions. As others have said, the views from the balconies are exceptional. Both the property manager Adriana and the caretaker Sony were very helpful during our stay.

The feel of the apartment is late 60's early 70's in both architecture and design. It is a charming location and I highly recommend it.

Owner's Response: Dear Bob, So delighted that you enjoyed your stay. You are correct about the period of the architecture, but relevant is that it is a landmark, leading edge design of it's period, by one of the most famous Italian architects of the period as well, and appeared in many architectural design articles, of that time, Rome's Dolce Vita, age of Fellini. The apartment hosted such famous guests as Andy Warhol and Fellini himself! This is why we cherish the design as it is, and so many of our guets do , too! We hope you will come again.

A view like no other!

  • 4 of 5

I cannot express how much I adored the view from this rental apartment (a penthouse really)....to see this amazing city from high above was spectacular. We had a few areas to look out from as there are multiple balcony/patio areas. When you walk into this apartment you feel like you walked back into the 60'[s....but in a good way....it felt very comfortable and iconic. The 35 year old plant was darling as it made it's way up the stairs and you can tell a wonderful caretaker called Mr.Sony takes great care of this unit. The layout was spacious....and we all had our own space unless we all met in the dining area to share a glass of wine.

Only drawback is the upper bedroom's bathroom, a bit old however it did not stop me from loving this well kept unit.

The walk to Trevi fountain is 8 minutes and perfect after we ate a wonderful meal just around the corner from the unit.

Adriana met us the day we arrived and was very helpful when I locked the keys in the unit by accident.

I would definitely stay here again and I highly recommend it to you all.

Ciao!
