Ochil View offers Edinburgh, Glasgow, Stirling, Perth and St Andrews all within an hour's drive to experience a memorable Scottish holiday. For the keen golfer there are plenty of golf courses all within a 5 mile radius. Edinburgh Airport is 15 minutes drive & access to the M9 is a stone throw away. From Linlithgow train station, just 20 minutes away by train is Edinburgh, Scotland's Capital. A 30 min train journey in the opposite direction will allow you to discover Glasgow.

The house is 3 miles from Royal Burgh of Linlithgow, birthplace of Mary, Queen of Scots. Linlithgow has two prominent landmarks: Linlithgow Palace and Linlithgow Loch, and also famous for the Union Canal. The canal runs by the village of Philpstoun and beyond linking Edinburgh and Glasgow.

Philpstoun is a semi-rural village of Linlithgow and is where we are situated.

Ochil View is 3 bedroom semi-detached house which has magnificent view of the Ochil Hills of Stirlingshire from the rearbedrooms of the property. Accommodation offers -

Upper level – 3 bedrooms :

Bedroom1 = 1x king size bed ----- Bedroom 2 = 1x Queen double bed ----- Bedroom 3 = 2x small doubles (Twin room with 2 small double beds).

LINEN with a set of spare linen for all beds in cupboard up on the landing. Bedrooms have fleece blankets for cooler nights .Also plenty bathroom towels and kitchen towels.

Lower level-

Lounge;kitchen; bathroom; and a separate toilet .

Kitchen is fully equipped for your self-catering needs with: Dining table with 6 chairs . Also an electric oven / gas hob, microwave, under counter fridge and freezer, and washing machine.

Family Bathroom with off the mains shower over the bath , basin & toilet. Separate W.C – toilet and hand basin

Lounge has an open working fireplace (logs supplied) with a Flat screen T.V with Sky TV. DVD Player with a selection of DVDs

Wifi is available, the house has its own BT Hub4 with unlimlited wi-fi.

The gardens are fully enclosed to keep children and pets safe, if front gate is closed over. Off street parking is available for 1 medium sized car. Another car can be parked securely in front of the property in the quiet street The back garden has substantial decking to enjoy an outdoor barbecue.

Property is advertised as max of 6 guests .

Child travel cot, also a bed rail and stair gates and high chair are provided too.

Minimum booking is 2 NIGHTS

There is a key safe at the back door which will allow you to have independent access at all times of your stay. I will e-mail you the access code a few days before your arrival for security reasons.

Arrival is from 2-00pm and departure is at 11-00 am ( however ,depending on other bookings, around your arrival & departure dates, a later departure time may be arranged--please discuss this with me as I may be able to help depending on other bookings.)

Leanne and Allen are very nice hosts. They provided more than enough! They even printed documents and take photocopy of my passport for my urgent needs!

Absolutely Stunning!!

Me and my friends have stayed here for 3 nights and the place was spotless and the facilities provided were over the top to what we expected.

Delightful farm and cottage

Our family of six spent five nights in this lovely, period-set farm cottage. The owners were fantastically welcoming. Proximity to local attractions was a definite plus. We especially appreciated the farm setting and the delights it brought. Lovely fireplace and furnishings that appropriately matched the age of the cottage. Quiet nights and total privacy. A splendid stay.

Good accommodation nor far from Edinburgh

Owner very helpful. Accommodation of good standard with plenty of space. Not much around the house - but suited our needs to get to Edinburgh, fife and Livingston easily!

We can't say enough positive things about Leanne and Ochil View!! From the ease of booking to the kindness of our gracious host I would recommend this rental as a 10/10!! Clean, Comfy, and Absolutely Beautiful!

We had an absolutely lovely stay at Orchil. Ms. Archibald really made us feel welcome and was extremely responsive to my questions. My family and I had to stay in a house with a kitchen because I have fairly severe food allergies. Ms. Archibald checked to see if I had any specific requirements for cleaners and also wanted to make sure we had all the cooking equipment we needed. The kitchen was well stocked with pans, bowls, cutlery, and the like. The only thing we needed in the kitchen was a jar to pour grease in -- no problem. Ms. Archibald brought it right over and we were squared away. Ms. Archibald also left our children some lovely Easter treats which they absolutely loved!!!

One of the best things about this house is it's location -- especially if you have children. There is a lovely park just up the street (not quite visible from the house, but just beyond) that our children loved -- and some of the local children played football there and invited our boys to play. Everyone was so welcoming and kind -- and we were able to relax and enjoy a quiet vacation. We spent two afternoons in the local village of Philipstoun -- what a lovely castle they have and delightful shops! Lots of restaurants if you can eat in them -- we didn't partake because of my aforementioned food allergies. Finally, we spent several days in Edinburgh -- just a quick 20 min (and relatively cheap!) train ride from Philipstoun; you can catch a bus to grab the train or drive there in less than 10 mins.

We had a lovely stay and would absolutely recommend Orchil to any perspective visitors. You will not be disappointed!
