Ochil View offers Edinburgh, Glasgow, Stirling, Perth and St Andrews all within an hour's drive to experience a memorable Scottish holiday. For the keen golfer there are plenty of golf courses all within a 5 mile radius. Edinburgh Airport is 15 minutes drive & access to the M9 is a stone throw away. From Linlithgow train station, just 20 minutes away by train is Edinburgh, Scotland's Capital. A 30 min train journey in the opposite direction will allow you to discover Glasgow.
The house is 3 miles from Royal Burgh of Linlithgow, birthplace of Mary, Queen of Scots. Linlithgow has two prominent landmarks: Linlithgow Palace and Linlithgow Loch, and also famous for the Union Canal. The canal runs by the village of Philpstoun and beyond linking Edinburgh and Glasgow.
Philpstoun is a semi-rural village of Linlithgow and is where we are situated.
Ochil View is 3 bedroom semi-detached house which has magnificent view of the Ochil Hills of Stirlingshire from the rearbedrooms of the property. Accommodation offers -
Upper level – 3 bedrooms :
Bedroom1 = 1x king size bed ----- Bedroom 2 = 1x Queen double bed ----- Bedroom 3 = 2x small doubles (Twin room with 2 small double beds).
LINEN with a set of spare linen for all beds in cupboard up on the landing. Bedrooms have fleece blankets for cooler nights .Also plenty bathroom towels and kitchen towels.
Lounge;kitchen; bathroom; and a separate toilet .
Kitchen is fully equipped for your self-catering needs with: Dining table with 6 chairs . Also an electric oven / gas hob, microwave, under counter fridge and freezer, and washing machine.
Family Bathroom with off the mains shower over the bath , basin & toilet. Separate W.C – toilet and hand basin
Lounge has an open working fireplace (logs supplied) with a Flat screen T.V with Sky TV. DVD Player with a selection of DVDs
Wifi is available, the house has its own BT Hub4 with unlimlited wi-fi.
The gardens are fully enclosed to keep children and pets safe, if front gate is closed over. Off street parking is available for 1 medium sized car. Another car can be parked securely in front of the property in the quiet street The back garden has substantial decking to enjoy an outdoor barbecue.
Property is advertised as max of 6 guests .
Child travel cot, also a bed rail and stair gates and high chair are provided too.
Minimum booking is 2 NIGHTS
There is a key safe at the back door which will allow you to have independent access at all times of your stay. I will e-mail you the access code a few days before your arrival for security reasons.
Arrival is from 2-00pm and departure is at 11-00 am ( however ,depending on other bookings, around your arrival & departure dates, a later departure time may be arranged--please discuss this with me as I may be able to help depending on other bookings.)

Our family was very happy staying here for four nights earlier this month. The property was a fairly short drive from Linlithgow and its train station (we took the train everywhere despite having a vehicle) and not far from the motorway. The home itself was very comfortably furnished and had a very well equipped kitchen. Leanne is a lovely host and was available if we needed her. She had left some food in the kitchen for us which was much appreciated our first night when we arrived quite late due to vehicle problems - thanks Leanne! We would not hesitate to recommend this property.
Lianne was a wonderful person. She went above and beyond to make our stay perfect.
My 2 sons and I had an amazing time staying in this property for almost 3 weeks. Leanne has thought of everything. The house is cosy and homely- it doesn't feel like a rental holiday home. The kitchen had everything I needed to host a family lunch, the beds were super comfy, plenty of storage space for clothing and a very lovely welcome pack for our arrival. I spent many evenings laying in front of the open fire watching trashy tv ( thanks to a full sky package) whilst the little ones slept. It was great being able to park right outside the front door for carrying sleeping babies straight into the house and the space outside would have been great had it not been the bleak mid winter. My only suggestion ( and this is purely personal preference) would be to take the gazebo down and store the outdoor furniture during the winter as it blocks the view from the kitchen window when you are washing the dishes and its such a lovely view looking out over the fields towards the house of the binns. Leanne looked after us incredibly well and having her next door was great if we had any questions ( or indeed if we needed to borrow a measuring tape!!) We visit Linlithgow most years from Australia to visit family and I have already told my husband that for further visits I would like to come back and stay at ochilview. Leanne is a very nice guest. The house is well furnished and the place is ideally located to explore Est Scottand. The area is full of historical spots and nice walks.
Fantastic place to stay! Such a warm, cosy and clean house! We had everything what we needed in the house and even more! Hoover, iron, fully equipped kitchen! Landlord even left us milk, biscuits, fruits and etc. and it was great because we arrived at boxing day when shops was closed! Good size of the rooms! Beds very comfy. Great location for travellers, close to motorway, but very quiet and nice place. Not far away from main touristic places like Edinburgh, Glasgow and Loch Lomond. you can found a lot of touristic brochures in the house. Brochures of closest take away helped as well! Thank you for warm welcome and help during the booking and arriving!
Das Cottage ist genau wie im Internet beschrieben. Das Cottage ist wirklich komplett ausgestattet. Es gibt dort alles was man für einen wundervollen Aufenthalt braucht. Man vermisst hier nichts. Leanne versteht es den Besuchern des Cottage ein Gefühl wie zu Hause zu vermitteln. Wir kommen bestimmt wieder.
