Ocean Views - www.dawlishholidays.com - New 'Air Conditioning' unit being installed in the near future for the comfort of our 2017 guests.
Welcome to Ocean Views our brand new unique 5 Star relaxation haven. Whether you prefer a beach holiday with the children or a quiet relaxing holiday with friends this is the perfect place for you.
Ocean Views is a beautiful four storey Victorian property, situated in a stunning elevated position overlooking the red coastline from Brixham to Exmouth. Conveniently located just a short 5-minute walk away from the idyllic seaside town of Dawlish.
Dawlish is the home to the black swan; it is located next to Jurassic red sandstone cliffs and fronted by a sandy beach. The Riviera Line railway runs along the South Devon sea wall. Dawlish station is less than 10 minutes walk from the property making it a convenient location for travelling and exploring the local town.
Our rooms are large with unlimited sea views, light and tastefully decorated with luxurious furnishings, giving a cosy warm ambience.
Our main reception area oozes luxury, with sumptuous Chesterfield sofas, plush cushions, soft lamps and even a life-sized suit of armour. That’s not all, why not extend your viewing pleasure out to sea using our beautiful full sized ornate telescope, as the sky-high Victorian bays give uninterrupted sea views.
Relax in our new hot tub in all season with family and friends 24 hours a day. Watch the beautiful coastline while the warm invigorating jets help you unwind. This is located next to the games room.
By day the veranda gives stunning views of coastline, with its rock pools and sandy beach. By evening relax in our inviting shabby chic dining area and watch the sun go down over the horizon with family or friends.
Our second reception/games room offers Sky TV, a Wii machine with a selection of games, PS3 also with a selection of games including Call of Duty, toys, board games and books to keep the children (and big children!) entertained and happy leaving the adults time to relax.
Outside the garden meanders down to our latte/bistro corner, where the railway line runs past. You can view locomotives, choo choo’s or high-speed trains in arms reach while sipping coffee, made fresh from the coffee machine located in the kitchen.
The site where the railway and sea wall collapsed in the storms last year is within view from the bottom of our garden, come and see the newly installed sea wall.
The kitchen is well equipped with all mod cons as well as additional items for your convenience such as a coffee maker, slow cooker and for the little ones, a blender.
Our property comfortably sleeps 10 people (Plus Cot) in five spacious 10 ft high bedrooms most of which have stunning sea views; the main bedroom has the additional benefit of an en suite. In addition linen and throws are provided in all bedrooms.
There is a family bathroom with bath and gorgeous enclosed rain shower, plus two additional WC’s. Complementary toiletries and towels are provided throughout.
There is Internet reception, Sky TV in both receptions, 2 Apple docks for IPhone 4/5 and IPods located in the 1st reception room and the kitchen.
Every effort has been taken to ensure your holiday is a success. Mountain bikes and helmets are provided (2 Adult 2 Children’s) for your enjoyment. Nets and buckets are at your disposal for rock pooling at a moments notice as the tide recedes. Several pairs of wellies and walking sticks for the climbers are provided.
Large bean bags are located all over the property so if you see a lovely spot, throw one down, sit and be cosy for the afternoon.
The house is built uniquely into the 185 million year old Jurassic coastline that envelops the southwest. From the foot of the garden any keen geologists can physically touch and explore the fossils frequently found jutting out of the rock. Paleontologists have a field day examining crustaceans embedded in the rock face; we defy any child not to find this fascinating.

I am a support worker who, with another staff member, supported 4 of our residents to go on a group holiday. It can always be a little fraught with problems, and we have had some bad experiences in the past with ignorant attitudes. This was fantastic and like no other experience we have had.
Cheryl was very courteous in getting us the paperwork and giving me room layouts and answering numerous questions, so we could plan our trip as we have some service users with specific needs.
When we arrived, we were greeted by Tony, who was very helpful- even carried our bags into the house, and we had quite a few! I was given a very comprehensive tour of the house and instructions for the hot tub, heating etc. and Tony ensured that we were all settled and was wonderfully attentive with our service users.
We had wine and chocolates awaiting us, as well as milk in the fridge, everything you need for the first night!
The house itself is beautifully done out and seems well cared for. Plenty of toilets and two bathrooms (one en suite) which worked out well for us.
The balcony is easily accessible, and is a fantastic place for a cuppa in the morning and a meal in the evening, especially a good BBQ, which is a fantastic feature through the back door with a double sized grill (very handy for burning things for a few people!).
There is a swingset for kids and a couple of lovely seats in the terraced garden, great to have a cuppa right next to the water and to watch the trains go by. We all loved listening to the sea at night so much we often left the windows open- lovely!
The hot tub is a fab bonus and we all enjoyed it a great deal, easy to use and much needed after a hectic day! Also they have a drying room, complete with tumble dryer and dehumidifier- perfect for wet towels and very very handy!
The train station is about a 5min walk away, same for the high street and some good pubs for food, with a lot to see and do withing walking distance or a short train journey away. The bus stop is almost outside the front door!
Overall, a very well equipped house, from towels and linens to bikes and buckets and spades!
Tony was on hand to help with any problems- there were a few electrical problems in the area (all of Dawlish) so we needed to reset the dehumidifier, which Tony was very helpful with.
We met Tony to hand over the keys, and he was again very courteous with our service
Our family of 6 adults and 4 children enjoyed a wonderful week at Ocean Views. The lay out of the property worked well for our party and the amazing sea views from all but 1of the rooms were the icing on the cake. Watching the trains pass by was also fascinating for the children and adults alike. The property was exceptionally clean with lots of extras provided to make our stay perfect. The hot tub was a lovely addition and the swings and play room were appreciated and enjoyed by the children. There are also various outdoor areas to enjoy.Communication was very good through out and we were made to feel very welcome on arrival. The house is close to the beach and shops in Dawlish and I can well recommend a visit to Jack Spratts restaurant during a stay there and a train journey is obviously a must! The week flew by and none of us wanted to leave. I would not hesitate to recommend Ocean Views to anyone -what's not to like!!!
We (6 adults and 3 children) stayed at Ocean Views for a week in July to celebrate a birthday. The weather was hot and sunny and we were able to take advantage of the balcony (stunning sea views), barbecue, beaches and various attractions further along the coast. The model village at Babbacombe was a particular favourite as was Dawlish Warren. We enjoyed walking along the sea front.
Tony was a very professional host: meeting us from Dawlish station and available on the phone. He even found the iPods we had accidentally left and posted them to us.
The house is large, clean, modern and well equipped. There was plenty of room for us all to spread out with a well equipped play room which our grandchildren enjoyed using.
The photos and description of the property are accurate and we found everything there we needed.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Ocean Views and were very sad to be leaving.
Perfect holiday, in a perfect house. More than enough space for 10 people. Everything catered for. Swings, see saw, toys and a games room for the children young and old, washing machine, tumble dryer, dish washer, hot tub. All to make for a good holiday. Would defiantly go there again.
We were all very impressed with the house, and it was more than large enough for the six adults and four children in our party.
Funny how children remember the hot tub the best, and the adults remember the holiday as a whole.
The house is more than big enough for the amount of people you can get into five bedrooms, and in a lovely position right on the sea front.
Dawlish is a lovely little town full of cafes and shops (and pubs) cough, to please everyone.
My wife and I visited the little museum, and found it a great place to spend an hour or so looking at the local history, before a few beers in the nearest pub.(only joking)
Seriously I would say that if you have an hour or so to spare the museum is well worth a visit.
In the opposite direction is Dawlish Warren, which can easily be reached on foot (we did it with four grandchildren) in about ten minutes.
There you will find a fun fair, shops, and a pub that serves good food.
Back to the house.
Everything you could want is provided, and we cant think of anything negative to say.
Kids loved the "play room" and some of the adults loved the Play Station and games provided.
I big shout out has to go to the guy who lives next door, he was a really nice guy when we got to talk to him, and he gave us a demonstration of his new Drone one night when he had a few beers.
I could just ramble on for ages about our week at the house, but will just say that we loved it and wouldnt hessitate to recommend it.
Ideal for a large family to have a relaxing and enjoyable week.
This is a brilliant house for a very large family! We stayed here for a week over Easter and had a lovely time. The interior is clean, modern and there are so many added extras that you wouldn't normally expect e.g.binoculars, telescope.
There is so much room in this house and loads of things to do if the weather is ropey! The games room was really well-equipped and our big kids spent a lot of time in there! It was lovely to have Sky+ which we are used to at home-these little things make such a difference!
Unfortunately, the weather was not nice enough for us to utilise the patio but I can imagine it's magical on a warm summer's evening.
The views were spectacular and we spent lots of time just watching the sea. We were there for storm Katie and she didn't disappoint-what an amazing experience!
The kitchen was well-equipped and we wanted for very little. I think we needed a measuring jug which wasn't provided, but everything else was there. The complimentary Easter eggs were a lovely touch!
Tony and Cheryl were fantastic hosts and their approach was very professional but friendly. Tony was on the end of a phone for any questions and his responses were quick and helpful.
The only tiny thing to note is that there are no curtains in the master bedroom on the top floor. I do appreciate the reasons behind this decision-it was lovely to sit up in bed in the morning and look at the sea-I also recognise that unless someone was on the sea with binoculars, they couldn't see anything, however, I did feel very exposed getting changed, particularly at night!
I would recommend this house to anyone and we may be back! :)
