Nice hosts and apartment

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay. The apartment is located in a great neighborhood and is pretty much within walking distance from tons of attractions. The host and staff were punctual to check us in. Pleasure to interact with. There are a few things however that if changed will make this apartment great:

1. The convertible sofa in living room is falling apart and is uncomfortable to sleep on.

2. Wallpaper in the bedroom is old and is peeling off. I woul just get rid of it.

3. The apartment could use a fresh coat of paint.

4, I would consider changing the cleaning person. The light fixtures and the floor were really dusty.

5. The fans that were ptovided were not powerful enough in summer heat.

The apartment has tons of potential. In its current state it’s good for a short stay for 2 people.

Owner's Response: Dear Mariana, we are glad you enjoyed your stay and the great location of our apartment. We would like to apologize that the level of cleanliness and maintenance of the flat upon your arrival did not meet our own high standards. We have given the flat a thorough cleaning and performed some general works and we believe you would be pleased with the end results. We do hope you will give us a second chance on a future visit so that you may see the improvements we have made. We wish you all the best.

We had a lovely time. The place is beautiful and the location is amazing. It can get noisy at night, but it’s part of the deal when you pick a lively neighborhood.

Would definitely stay there again!

great location; clean, secure building; walkable to many great areas in the city

  • 4 of 5

we had a great stay in paris. the apartment was a bit smaller than expected, but worked well for our family of four. the space was warm, but there were two fans (one for each room) that helped cool the space when placed by an open window at night. the street was a little loud throughout the night, which was surprising, but we were so tired from our long days of walking and exploring the city that it didn’t bother us too much. the apartment could use a small bit of maintenance, but nothing that affected our stay.

Great Location

  • 4 of 5

We loved this apartment. It could have been 5 stars with a bit of maintenance, but the location alone merits a 4. It is centrally located near so many things – the Opera, the metro stop Quatre-Septembre right outside the door, one of the famous covered passages to the left, the grand boulevards a couple of blocks to the right. The living area separate from the bedroom is spacious which, in rainy January, was great to have.

Pros: Nice building on a relatively quiet street, large living area, clean bathroom with good shower and plenty of hot water and good lighting, ample towels, comfortable bed, functional kitchen and a TV with many channels.

Cons: The apartment could use some freshing up and does have some issues: the toilet paper holder is broken, the wallpaper in the bedroom is ripped, the washing machine has some big cracks in the trim, and the kitchen could use better silverware. We could not get the dishwasher to work and think the manager needs to take a look at it.

I would definitely stay here again, but hope that the cosmetic and functional issues will be addressed before that time.

Owner's Response: Bonjour John, thank you very much for taking the time to submit a review. While we are glad to know you enjoyed the location of the flat, we are sorry that other aspects kept you from having a 5-Star experience, something we aim for with all of our guests. We have made note of your suggestions and will be taking immediate action to address these minor cleaning and maintenance issues. We hope you'll be in touch for a future visit so you may benefit from our discounted rates for our returning guests and see the improvements we have made. Take care until then.

Convenient location

  • 4 of 5

We stayed in this apartment in the 2d arrondissement for a little over a week in October 2017, a good month to be there since it's cool enough to keep the windows closed most of the time. This helped to diminish the street noise, as did the solid wooden shutters. The apartment building is well-built so that we did not hear noise from other apartments.

The apartment is in a terrific, safe location, convenient to many museums, e.g., the Louvre, Musee d'Orsay, Pompidou, to which we walked easily. There is a Metro station right at the end of the block as well, for more distant attractions.

We did most of our eating at home and shopped at the nearby Rue Montorgeuil which has excellent shops such as Stohrer's Bakery (founded in 1730!) with the best baguettes we've ever eaten. We were able to get top quality fruit and vegetables and there was a fine butcher too on that same street. There are also small markets near the apartment for such things as milk and juice.

The kitchen in the apartment had whatever equipment we needed to enable us to do our cooking, and the proprietor of the Nicolas wineshop, just steps away, recommended perfect matches for whatever we were eating that day. The bed was comfortable and the living room serviceable, though it did not have a particularly comfortable sofa or strong enough lights for reading. It was convenient to have two bathrooms--the toilet and a sink are in a separate small bathroom near the front door and the larger bath is right off the bedroom (sink, tub/shower only, no toilet).

The apartment is almost adjacent to a fun arcade and several others are within easy walking distance. Just exploring this part of Paris on foot is an enjoyable experience since the architecture of the old buildings is beautiful and fascinating.

When small problems arose, e.g., the elevator stopped running for a short time, the staff of the rental company were responsive and pleasant. The "manual" in the apartment was rather sketchy so we added what we hope were useful tips.

Owner's Response: Merci beaucoup Gail, for taking the time to submit such a thoughtful review. It sounds like you all had a great time in Paris and we are glad that the apartment helped to contribute to your great experience. It was a pleasure to host your entire group and we would welcome you back in a heartbeat. If there was anything keeping you from having a 5-Star experience we would like to be able to discuss with you more on how we can improve. We look forward to hosting you again in the future and will be glad to give you a special discount for your second visit. À bientôt!

Does the job just fine

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I spent the last 4 nights of our 10 day honeymoon in this apartment. It was in a somewhat quiet neighborhood with stores close by to pick up groceries, wine, and coffee for the morning. Its very near the metro as well as being centrally located so we often decided to walk as attractions were in close proximity.

The apartment was ok. Its been worn in a bit and as this was our honeymoon thought it would be a touch nicer but worked for us.

**Note - the coffee shop was rented out for a private event on the Friday night that we were there and it was a party on the street until 3am.

Owner's Response: Bonjour Meredith, thank you for taking the time to submit a review. We are pleased to know you enjoyed the location of our apartment and that it worked out for your special trip to Paris. . This year, we've had a busier than normal tourist season in Paris. Therefore, we've realized this has put some additional wear on the apartment. As a result, we are taking a short break with the flat to address the maintenance and upkeep issues. We do apologize about the noise coming from the coffee shop down the street. Unfortunately we cannot control their behavior nor their events, but we have spoken with local authorities to see if they can do something to control the noise outside of normal hours. We wish you and your husband the best and many years of happiness together.
